Cruise Tip Calculator correct?

Others have mentioned that we need to give the tip envelopes to the 4 CM's ..... how EXACTLY do we do this? Do we have to play "search the entire ship for the right CM?" or what? Sorry... new to this also, just don't get it. We thought about pre paying tips also. :cutie:

You leave the stateroom host(ess) envelope in the room or you could give it right to them if you catch them in the room. The 3 dining CM's you give the envelopes to at your dinner on the last night

We don't plan on going to dining room every night. If were not there the last night to hand them out, do they still receive the tips we prepaid? Or do they need the prepaid stub to receive the tip? Also, At Palo, I thought I read on these boards awhile back that the $15 Palo fee includes tip and you can give extra on top of that or excellent service. Or do you tip from the $15? Thanks.

but just wondering what being in Cat 11 has to do with not ordering room service???

Maybe because the inside room is not all that scenic so they don't plan to be in it much? That's how I am thinking about my cat 11 room.

I understand not needing cash at the airport since you are driving but just wondering what being in Cat 11 has to do with not ordering room service??? Room service is free to everyone on the ship and is offered 24 hours a day...have a hankering for a tuna sandwich at 2:00 am...no problem. Want a Mickey Bar at 11:00 pm before bed....again, no problem...call up and it is delivered. All you need to tip is $2-3 per visit...a great value!

Not trying to push you to use room service....just wanted to let you know that the service is available to everyone onboard, regardless of what type of cabin you are in.

Only because snacking right before bedtime to someone who is going to kill himself to make sure that he looks good enough to take his shirt off at the pool will be tantamount to a mortal sin!;)

The brotha looks good but he's trying to lose that small pouch in the front. And right now, my arms is hurting from the workout from yesterday.

So the only way I am ordering room service is for some sort of lunch or dinner. And I refuse to eat lunch or dinner in my small cabin.

Just wanted to make the suggestion that your $150 spending cash for Nassau be in small bills. Price haggling is an accepted practice there and you wouldn't want to negotiate an item down to $2 and then pull out a $20 to pay for it. :upsidedow When I see something I want to buy, I usually decide how much I'm willing to pay for it and then pull that amount of money out of my pocket before starting to bargain, giving the impression that's all the spending money I have left. ;)

Good point. You should maybe get a Travel Channel show. Those small tidbits of information are entertaining.:goodvibes

Good for you!!! Keep up the good work!!! You will see all shapes and sizes onboard!!!

Don't forget the tip for clubs for the children too. ;)

:goodvibesActually the kids club is NOT a tip position...and they have gotten in trouble in the past for accepting cash. BUT some "goodies" is usually fine, they will pool them together and have a party :dance3:

maybe the extra 6$/day is for incidentals like room service, dining service at breakfast/lunch, or drinks from a bar or server on deck?

You do not tip at breakfast or lunch. The tip you give to your server/assistant server at the last night dinner represents the tip for all the meals during the cruise. Even though your serving team may not have served YOU for breakfast and lunch, they were assigned somewhere and were serving someone...likewise, you ate somewhere.

If you are not eating in the dining room the last night, you can make a point of stopping by and dropping off the envelopes. You can hand out the envelopes the night before. IF the correct name is on the pre-pay tickets, your servers will still get their tips (they do not have to have the stubs to get the tips provided the correct name is on them.)

If you order from a bar, the gratuity will be shown on your ticket. There is NO explanation for the "extra" $6 except an ignorant CM.

Maybe the CM was thinking of the 18% tip added to the meals at the parks and the hotels. That might explain why this figure was quoted.
