Cruise ships in port?

For those who have spent time elsewhere in Hawaii, have you found crowds to be heavier when cruise ships are in port? Or is the uptick in crowd not too noticeable? We'll be in Waikiki, Maui, and Kauai at the same time as Pride of America and a Celebrity ship. In Maui, the Celebrity ship docks in Lahaina which is where we're staying. Wondering if we should expect lines and restaurant waits or if the impact isn't that noticeable.

There were ships in port two of the days we were there in June and I didn't notice a difference. Waikiki is a bustling place, so it's busy and crowded no matter what.

I am not sure that the cruise folks overload the restaurants because they are well fed on board. However, they do tend to overload the bars because the drinks on shore are much cheaper than those on the ship. Aloha!

No difference, cruise people would be out during the day when hotel people are at the pool

The Pride of America is in Maui on Sunday and Monday and Kaui on Thursday and Friday. The PoA leaves Kaui in the early afternoon on Friday (about 2:00 PM) and Maui in the early evening (about 6:00 PM) on Monday. So those evenings should be less crowded. I don't think that it is like the Caribbean where 4 or 5 cruise ships can be in port at the same time meaning that there can be as many as 10,000+ cruise passengers can be in port! Think Nassau where there can be 2 huge NCL ships, 2 huge RCL ships and a Carnival ship all at the same time!
The PoA has a capacity of 2,186 passengers. Most of the Celebrity ships are larger.
We are sailing on the PoA for 7 days in October followed by 8 days at Aulani!
