I am planning our first Disney Cruise trip and was wondering how far out can I book the cruise using DVC points? I will need to use banked, current and borrowed points for it. So if I am planning a 2015 cruise do I have to wait until 2015 to book the cruise if I have to borrow 2016 points? Thanks

As soon as DCL release the 2015 cruise schedule, you will be able to book a cruise for 2015 using DVC points. As far as DVC is concerned you already have the points, and for cruises you can book ahead as much as 24 months out, if the cruise line schedules are released.

We once booked an Alaska cruise for Aug of 2011 in Aug of 2009 with 2010, 2011, 2012 points, so if can definitely be done. Just call DVC after the cruise line releases the cruise you want for 2015, you will have to borrow if you need points from 2016 for the cruise, which, of course cannot be reversed, if you decide to cancel.

I don't believe they'll let you use 4 years worth of points. Historically they've required the points to be in the UY in which the cruise falls or give you the choice of the current or next UY if the cruise is beyond a UY you can use. However, they're usually pretty good with working with you if needed.

Thanks for the info. We are really looking forward to it and was hoping that I did not need to wait until 2015 to book it.
