Cruise Meet Sept, 9th 2012 Dream

coworker got on the dream today.. BAH HUMBUG

but one week for us yayyy!!!! I told her to leave the ship in good condition for us! I hope it is as beautiful as it was today when we board! :cool1:

Hello, all. I was directed to this thread to try to break the ice. Circumstances have brought me to the point that I have the means to book on this sailing (and I've got the time off of work) but I'm nervous about going solo. I'm a 29 year old guy and curious if there are other folks who might be doing the solo thing or how it might work that I wouldn't spend the grand majority of my time alone with my thoughts. Let me know! Thanks :)

im also going solo i will be 32 when i board

I am half solo... i don't hope so..but... i hope my friend want to do more on the ship then smoking and surf online.... in the parks and swimparks i have to do almost everything by my self... :'( she is afraid of hights? And don't like to swim.

Joining in here a bit late but I just booked this weekend. Got a great deal that I couldn't pass up. We just came back from a 9 Night WDW trip on Wednesday and on Saturday I booked the Dream. I don't know how I got to be so lucky.

This sailing doesn't seem to be selling at all. I can't believe how many cabins are left. It looks like we will have the ship to ourselves! We are in a 5A GTY and I'm hoping for a bit of an upgrade. :)

I thought I'd introduce myself, my usual travel party is ME, DH, and 3 boys (ages 5,7 & 8) but for this trip I'm taking only my 7 year old son and a girlfriend with her 4 year old daughter. We are beyond excited. I'm afraid that we won't be able to join in the FE because we are just too late in the game to get organized. :(

Welcome aboard! It is a ridiculously empty cruise from what I can see. We have a 7 year old boy(long hair hippie boy) and a 4 year old (also long hair hippie boy). They will likely me in the clubs so maybe they can make friends with your kids.

We homeschool our boys.

We are super excited as it is still a surprise. So far we haven't let the cat out of the bag. That is becoming increasingly more difficult as I am starting to prep for packing.

Me too! We are planning a scavenger hunt Saturday to tell them. It's part of 7 yr old dd bday gift. It's so hard! Especially making all the FE gifts!

Today we were talking about "oceans" with the youngest and he insisted he had never seen an ocean, even though he has. We asked the boys if maybe next weekend they wanted to head over to the other coast (we live on the west coast of florida, gulf coast) and see the ocean for a night or two. Now I can pack without a million questions. I was able to trick them into making FE gifts as they know we have a cruise for january already booked for the little mans 5th birthday.

More space for us in the pool! How do you know how many cabins are left for selling?? :confused3 we fly at saterday and stay for the night at country suites and inn Airport.

What hotel does everyone recommend to stay pre cruise? We have reservations at the Hampton inn cocoa beach but I just saw where they are starting renovations on the 6th. I'm not sure how I feel about that, i am looking at other options. Thanks!!!!

Beccadoby, I have a quick question. I have a separate gift for the adults and the kids, do you have 1 FE for both cabins or will the kids have their own? Just needed to know where to leave their gift:yay:

I think "beccadoby" is sticking the kids far away on the ship? With grandparents as I recall in a pass through room? The kids ages are listed above. Not sure if the kids will have a FE or not. If they don't and you had something special for them you can just leave it at the other cabin I guess?

Last day of work!!!! I work 2-10:30 pm today and leave at 5 am for airport. We're spending 4 days in Orlando prior to boarding the ship, visiting WDW and Universal (haven't seen Harry Potter yet). May do Sea World too, have never been there. Looks like rain all week though....hoping for sunny skies when sailing. See everyone on Sunday....safe travels!

I love seaworld! Just booked dine with shamu.. you can have a better close up ..not to close... otherwise it would be shamu dines... ;-) we do the cruise and after that we stay at coronado springs till 27 sept. we got the free quick dining plan..

The kids were engaged with boardgames today and i snuck off and packed their clothing! :) They are none the wiser. So far so good :)
