Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Hi! My family just got off the Disney Magic 2 days ago. It was our 1st cruise and we loved it so we booked onboard for the maiden Fantasy Eastern Caribbean! It is me, DH, and DS7. We are definitely interested in the FE exchange. The FE was a highlight of the trip for my DS. He was so excited to get back to the room to see what had been delivered. I'll PM our info. Can't wait - only been back to MI for 2 days and I am longing for the Caribbean already ;)

Question for anyone that booked this while onboard. We received the reservation confirmation email on the same day we booked at the future cruise sales desk (which was only last Friday 2/25). Today I went on DCL website to review our reservation and I couldn't pull it up. I keep getting the following response:
"Sorry, we are unable to retrieve your reservation. Either there has been a system issue or another Guest in your stateroom or another stateroom linked to yours is currently arranging activities in My Cruise Plans. Please try again later."

I am hoping this is just a timing issue but I am surprised given we have already received our confirmation and paid the deposit. Anyone else have this experience?

I am not sure why it is not coming up for you. I do know that after you call Disney about your reservation or change something online, it freezes your reservation for about 90 minutes. At least, that it what I was told when I called before.

Welcome aboard!

I also had no problems pulling up my reservation, but I usually go to the Castaway Club page so I don't need to worry about remembering my reservation number.

I will pm you my e-mail address. Once we get closer, maybe they could send an e-mail to each other. Or maybe even a picture so they have a friendly face to look for.

Catgirl,,,,,I got your PM,,it will be great to get the girls together,,,Mackenzie is always thrilled to make new friends and is really looking forward to meeting Chloe!

:welcome: DisneyJKJ, Flybone89, and Jen 59!!!

So happy to see so many kids around the same age group!

Sorry you won't be joining us, but at least you're still going on a cruise on the Fantasy. Hope you have a good time!

we got off the dream earlier this month and can't WAIT to spend more time exploring on the fantasy now (not that we weren't already excited!).

The ship is BEAUTIFUL! We had a deluxe inside on the dream, and got to tour a deluxe family ocean (which is the room we have booked on the fantasy) and although our deluxe inside was fine...we're looking forward to the deluxe family oceanview.

Its been awhile since I have been on :sad2: Just returned from our Ireland vacation and been crazy busy at the office!

Welcome to all our NEWBIES!

I am having some Disney withdrawls... needing a Disney fix soon.. thinking about another 4 night Dream sailing this summer.:cool1:

What is a FE? It is a “Fish Extender” meaning a pocket of some type that hangs from your Disney Cruise Line “fish” outside your door, where Cast Members leave your confirmations and such.

This is a fun game started by a group of travelers to make the Cruising experience just a little bit more FUN. It is sort of like a Secret Santa… you will get a final listing prior to cruising (about 15 days prior) of who all is participating, so you can leave little “gifts” or “goodies” in others FE’s. You can do as many or as few as you like, there is NO rules or guidelines, it is meant to be fun for all and not to cause worry or stress – we are all on vacation – good times only!!

Ideas of other peoples gifts for suggestions and ideas: something to represent your state/country, favorite snack food, cruise themed items (beach balls, sunglasses..), pencils. It is just meant to be a fun little surprise when you get back to your rooms, not a huge investment of money! REMEMBER FUN!

Where do I get a FE? Many people have purchased theirs from Ebay or you can make your own. This is completely up to you.

How do I participate in a FE? You just send nikicares a private message with your information to be added.
Please message me your information if your interested in the FE.

Thats great! Chloe is a little unsure about spending time away from me, but I know if she has a friend ahead of time she will love the kid's clubs.

Looking forward to meeting you and all the others on our cruise!!!

Ooo Ireland. I could probably visit there with some DVC points. I'd go for a Dream cruise, but I'm already going the first weekend in June for SWW and July 1-8. My nephew's birthday is July 3rd, and I'd like to catch the Epcot fireworks on the fourth if I can. One of those things you've gotta do at least once.

I'm also hoping we see more info on the Fantasy soon too.

I'm so excited I found this thread!
My family is now booked for this cruise on the Fantasy, and I think I am the most excited of the three of us. My daughter loves that there is an area on the ship just for her-she'll be 13 when we sail. Originally we planned on the new year's cruise 2011-2012, but it booked so fast that we couldn't get a room on our budget. So by extending to the April cruise (it better coincide with April vacation) we will have enough saved up for the Fantasy cruise.
I am looking forward to the FE program, but need to post some before I can send the PM to sign up.
This will be my first cruise and my first Disney experience. My daughter went to WDW last summer with her aunts and cousins. Hubby went in his early teen years...but I've never been. Since I always wanted to take a cruise, we combined the two.
I'm glad we have a year...there are so many good posts to read here.

Welcome aboard! This will be my 3rd cruise and 3rd disney cruise. Recommend you get the Passporter, their 2011 version will be out soon with information on the Dream, and aside from name changes for some of the locations on board, the ship should be pretty much the same as the Fantasy.

Less than 400 days to go!

DH wants to bring our own laptop on the ship with us. I'm wondering how the wireless internet is in the staterooms and other areas on the ship?
Anyone else have luck with Verizon cell phone service on the ship?
We're on Deck 6, aft.

DD wants me to check if there are any others her age on this voyage. I'm hoping she'll make a connection or two before we arrive.

So many things to think about...

This definately looks very useful! I'm waiting for the 2011 cruise version, and am thinking of adapting the refill to a generic 3 ring binder with a zipper closure. That will allow us to add journal pages easier, I think.

Verizon phones will work, but you should really talk with them before leaving for the cruise and make sure you are on a proper plan. If you don't have the right plan, you'll wind up paying a lot more.

Myself, I just unplug from the world for the duration and enjoy myself. I got the deluxe passporter and love it.

Not sure about wireless on the Fantasy. Would recommend checking some of the threads about the Dream, we should have a similar experience to them in terms of wireless, but it is expensive and usually slow. This is a satellite internet connection on a moving ship.
