Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Just some quick updates for all the newbies - WELCOME!!

We have planned a group photo on day of embarkation in the Atrium Lobby by Minnie Mouse at 3pm, for all of those who what to join in.

The FE will be closing on March 15th, to allow time for everyone to prepare gifts.

So far in the FE we have 27 cabins (48 adults and 34 kids) IF we reach 30 cabins participating (and it looks very much like this will happen) I will divide our FE group into 2 smaller groups of about 15 cabins each (this is to help the pocketbooks).

We have no set FE "rules" you can gift per person, per cabin, per day or however you are comfortable with.

For NEWBIES interested in joining the FE please PM me or create a post with the following information, and I will get you signed up!

Stateroom # (if known):
How many Children: Ages:
Which dining rotation you are on:
Any health concerns (allergies to any type of food)
Celebrations:

Hi, just booked yesterday for this cruise and it will be me, dh, dd15 and ds9 (rest of family can't make it).

We are so excited to be sailing the Fantasy!!

We are all administrators in the Facebook group now, but you have to be "friends" before you can add anyone.

Well, we are getting closer to the sail date........

We have 3 kids going, 2 girls 16 and 11 and a boy 14.

Ill PM you their names if you have kids that want to email them ahead of time, and get together with them on the ship.

We have a monitored email address they use just for this!

We fly into MCO on the evening of the 19th, and are staying at Country Inn and Suites before the cruise.

hi Bill...our girls are about the same ages and we are staying the same place you are pre-cruise. We aren't flying in until the 20th, arriving around 9:30pm. I am sure my girls would like to chat with yours (actually DD11 said she would like to already) chatting by email would be fun for them. I can sent you theirs if you would prefer.

OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!! I just got online to check and see if there was any avilablity for Palo Dinner...and there WAS!!!! SWEEEET!! I just booked it!!! That just made my day!!!

Here is what I do and it works well for us...
I pack an empty backpack on wheels (actually have this as my carryon for the plane) Then I put my big purse with plane stuff (books, ipods, etc.)in it down in the rolling backpack. Then I only have to haul one bag onto the plane. I buy alcohol in Florida ... take my purse out of the backpack and use the empty backpack for my liquor. I just have to haul my backpack and purse onto the ship. The rooms aren't ready until 1ish. We usually board around noon. So I just roll the bag to eat with us and then usually the room is ready when we are done. I have never found it to be a hassle. It saves us a lot of money. I averaged out our last 3 cruises and we still spend about 40.00 per day on alcohol, so DCL still makes a good bit from us. Whew...sounds like we have a problem. I guess when you start early and don't have to drive anywhere the bill adds up quickly! I plan to take about 4-6 packs of beer and 4-5 bottles of wine. We usually have wine left over, but we can pack it up and take it home if needed. Last cruise we met some really fun people at the adult pool and I went back to the room and brought back the wine to share. They got pixie dusted...free wine DCL has really good martinis...that is where most of our alcohol money goes...

Sounds to me like I might needs to start looking into getting a backpack with wheels!!! LOL This is a great idea!! We will be driving up from South Beach the day of embarkation after having spent a few days there relaxing before the actual cruise. I was originally wondering "who much can we really drink when the kids are with us", but I would rather go prepared and try to save money just in case!!

Glad you were able to reserve Palo!

Me too!! I was really worried that we might not have been able to. I actually called the Disney Cruise line to ask if there was any way for us to get a reservation. The advise they gave me was to keep checking and if nothing came up then to go once onboard. I am so glad!! One less thing to worry about!!

Here's a link that was posted elsewhere on the dis with lots of interior photos of the Fantasy. I really like what they did with the lobby chandelier.

Thank you so much for posting this!! How amazing it is to see all the photos!!! It makes it so much more real now, especially knowing how close we are getting to the big day!!!
