I have a 7 day cruise booked in Feb 2009 that I booked w/ points. I've had the cruise booked for a long time. I just read about the bounce back offer for DVC - if you are on one of the select cruises in 2009, you will get a voucher to book a 3 day cruise for 23 points.

However, it's not clear if you only get this offer if you book now, or if it's anyone booked on points on these cruises.

Anyone have any more info????

Sounds like you just have to be booked by 12/15/2008. Nothing says you have to book between certain dates to get the offer. Here the information as posted on the member website:

Cruise with Mickey for a Minnie price
Disney Vacation Club Members who use Reservation Points to sail on a four- or seven-night Disney Cruise Line® voyage departing on dates between Jan. 31 and March 8, 2009, or between March 21 and 28, 2009, will have the opportunity to book a three-night voyage on most sail dates from Aug. 13-Dec. 17, 2009 for just 23 Reservation Points* a person (subject to availability).

Call Member Services by Dec. 15, 2008, to take advantage of this limited-time offer.

*Must book first sailing by Dec. 15, 2008. At the time of their first sailing, Guests will receive a voucher that will provide them with instructions for booking their three-night cruise. Guests will be able to book their second cruise starting April 6 through May 30, 2009. Rates are per person, based on double occupancy. At least one person from original sail party must travel on second cruise. Offer applies to the same stateroom category and number of staterooms as the first cruise. Offer applies to stateroom Categories 4-12 only. Fuel supplement, Government Taxes and Fees are included, while shore excursions are not included. Other discounts or onboard credits do not apply. Certain restrictions may apply. Offer is non-transferable, subject to change, and based on availability. Members cannot book and travel on the Disney Collection vacations (excluding Disneyland® Resort hotels in California) within the last 4 months of their Use Year. A non-refundable $95 transaction fee applies per confirmed the Disney Collection reservation (excluding Disneyland® Resort hotels in California). If payment is not received at the time of the confirmation, Disney Vacation Club reserves the right to cancel the reservation. Please see "Booking Guidelines" in the "Making Reservations" section and "Changing or Cancelling Reservations" in the "Managing Reservations" section for important booking window and cancellation guidelines.

OP, you need to check into this prior. According to the cruise website you need to enter a code on your first booking to qualify for the discount booking:

This special offer is valid only when you book a 4-Night or 7-Night Disney Cruise no later than December 15, 2008 that sails from January 31 through March 8, 2009 and March 21 through March 28, 2009. Valid sail dates for the 3-Night Bahamian cruise fall between August 13 and December 17, 2009 and are subject to availability. When booking your initial cruise online, please be sure to enter the proper booking code (FBO) to receive this offer.

I booked the 4-day Wonder February 8-12, 2009, using points, a couple of months ago. When this offer came out last week, I called Member Services and asked them to put the "FBO" booking code on my reservation. The CM didn't know what I was talking about, but she called the cruise line and they put the code on my res.

You can see the spcifics of this offer on www.disneycruise.com. Be sure to have them add the code by December 15th!

I haven't seen anything about booking for 23 points, though. The offer I signed up for was a 3-night cruise for $99.

That's interesting. You booked your main cruise with points and got the (I think better) $99 cash bounce back. DVC is offering a points bounce back at $23 points/person for the same 3 night cruise. (Which means you are only getting $4/point value from your points..)

Hummmm
I called MS today and asked to have the booking code added to my reservation. She called DCL and was told everyone would get the voucher on disembarkation day??

Sounds a little odd, I may call DCL later to double check. She did say a note was made on my reservation.

Another case of different CM, different Answer.

Ugh, keep up posted. I think calling DCL would be a good idea too.

Just FYI, the booking on points includes fuel surcharges and government taxes and fees. The $99 cash booking does not, which according to the website is $8/person/day for the first 2 guests, so for 2 on this 3-day cash bounce-back cruise you need to add $48 more to that $99/person price. Therefore, 2 adults going on the cash bounce-back offer would be $246. Still a good deal, but with a few caveats.

We are booked with points on a cruise in Feb. I looked on the member web site and cannot find the quoted material that is in post number 2. This quote based on points is different than the $99 offer as it does not ask for a code to be used. I would love to take advantage of this offer but does anyone know who I should call or what I should do? TIA

It's on the main news page.

Found it on 2nd look. Thanks.
Do we need to acknowledge the offer or will it be automatic based on the time of cruise and use of points??

So does this mean that you will be paying the $95 fee on the 3 day cruise as well? And for our math-wizs out there how does this effect the finances on this deal?

Good point, I didn't think about that; however, I have, I think 20 reservation points that I need to use up, so it may be worth it even with the fee.

Sorry I'm coming late to this party, but I just read about this last night. I've already got a 7-night cruise booked for February. Have we figured out whether DVC members need to call Member Services ahead of time to add a code like the people paying cash do?

I don't think it's accurate to say you're getting $4/point. That would only be true if the $99 rate were the normal rate available to book. But since those of us who already booked the first cruise on points do not have the $99 choice available to us, the true price to compare the 23 points/person would be the cash price we would actually be able to pay. That would be whatever the normal price is available through DCL or a travel agent. So 23 points is actually a great deal!

Now I absolutely agree that it's not as good a deal as the $99 deal! I would much prefer that option. But just because someone else has a better discount doesn't turn your discount into a price increase by comparison.

There is so much info here, and I have gone on the DCL website. But I want to be sure....I have a cruise planned for May 28th, 2009. A 3 night Wonder cruise. Am I excluded from the bounceback? I want to say yes, but I thought I'd have you experts confirm! :)

Yes you would be excluded. You have to sail on a 4 or 7 night cruise get the offer.
