I booked a cruise on the Fantasy back in June with Dreams Unlimited - I have not changed or done anything to my cruise but do have confirmation from DU and it does show up in my DCL account - I never received anything from DCL like I had in the past when I booked - but thought well it’s on my account so ok
I just yesterday received my official email from DCL - 6 months later - wow - I thought at first DCL was cancelling the cruise - but no it’s just stating - hey you booked a cruise
At first I lost my mind and thought DH was surprising me with a cruise for Christmas - but then I came to my senses - Haa haa
Anyone else have this happen ?

I got an email about getting excited for my Alaskan cruise in May yesterday. We booked in May 2021

The emails are likely a side effect of the AWS outage yesterday. When you have that kind of infrastructure burp, systems can reboot and start sending emails.

But did you receive your official email from DCL when you booked ? I never did for this cruise and had always in the past received them the day I paid the deposit which was 6 months ago - I just found this very strange all the way around and was curious if anyone else experienced the same

I moved, moved, moved, and moved the Sept. 2020 cruise to the current 9-night S.Caribbean July 2022 in April of this year. Still nothing from DCL, but I have a screenshot that it was booked. My first time with a TA for the DIS Pod cruise and no information.

I spent hours on the phone with a big box travel agent yesterday changing a cruise from April '22 to January '22. Right in the middle, while I was on the phone with her and she was saying "we're just about done, the DCL person just needs to wrap up a couple items," I got an email from DCL confirming the April cruise. Freaked me out for a second but I figured maybe it was just a weird coincidence that the confirmation for that cruise came through while they were changing it. The January cruise is in my account and all looks good so it does seem like it was just a hiccup.

This was the first time I didn’t receive my DCL email - I’ve booked / moved / changed / etc - and most of the time I am like which email is current (?) - just thought this was strange

I got a 'confirmation' for the 2022 Westbound Panama Canal yesterday, which we booked way back on opening day... I suspected that it was due to the AWS issues yesterday, and pretty much had those suspicions confirmed for me when shortly after I got another email from DCL welcoming me to the Castaway Club and offering me a new cruiser discount if I book another cruise within 60 days of my first cruise with DCL. I haven't been a 'new' cruiser with DCL since 2012. We were on the Wonder in October and just got off the Dream last week, both within the last 60 days. I happened to already be booking another cruise yesterday and briefly thought about seeing if I could take advantage of this magical offer, but just laughed it off.

I got a similar email yesterday about our cruise in April and it said I could book my activities in mid-January as if it was my first cruise. We’re actually trying concierge for the first time and had already booked everything last week! I was a little concerned at first but then I remembered the AWS situation and figured it was that.

That would have been a nice “welcome” for you!! Haa haa too bad you couldn’t use it! Can’t say I ever received that when I first cruised !
funny for last two years I randomly receive mail to my address from DCL addressed to someone else - they take a lot of nice cruises !!

I got an email yesterday for our April 2 fantasy cruise, saying we should get excited and we could book stuff starting some time in January....but we're staying concierge and I have everything booked already. Their system is just being wonky. I also keep updating my address, I even updated with a concierge staff member on the phone last week (we have moved since booking the cruise, been in this house a full year and know I changed it a dozen times now), and the emails with our itinerary that they still keep sending (even though I've made zero changes) still have our old address on them SMH.

Same thing for us, it's our first concierge stay and booked all of our stuff last week, my heart dropped at first and I ran to the app to double check and make sure everything was still there. Just a tad paranoid all the stuff we got is just a dream (or a fantasy lol)

Can you imagine how many people did that yesterday or today ? You would think DCL would send something out to reassure their customers

I got an email yesterday for our late July cruise. It seemed odd, but I get we all got an email!

Happened to me to. I've got a September 2022 cruise booked, I booked it I think in like September 2021. Thought it was odd I just got an email from DCL, totally forgot about the AWS outage but that makes sense!

Are they showing up in your account ? I’m assuming yes !
Yes, both are on our DCL account, but no email from DCL or DVC (we have one of each type of booking payment) stating Reservation number, Stateroom, Catagory, Dates, cost breakdown, and the additional legal pages ...pre-contract information.
