My wife and daughter just returned from a three night cruise on the Wonder. They had a great time and received a great deal of DVC logo'd merchandise. They got a couple of red DVC logo caps(I'm wearing mine now), three big DVC cruise magnets, a really nice DVC Captians log book or journal which I haven't looked through thoroughly yet and went to a DVC meet and great and won a DVC logo waterproof bag. She never told anyone that we were DVC members, but they somehow knew? She did have her DVC member tote bag as her carryon, may the porter taking care of their room saw the bag and alerted the DVC guest services? They were very pleased at how well they were treated on the cruise, she said that the service was just outstanding..
**forgot to mention also they received really nice DVC lanyards, I believe they got them at the meet and greet.

That's good to know! Are you sad that you couldn't join them on the cruise? We went on a cruise after buying DVC, we used points, and we didn't receive anything. So, they may have been stuck by Magic!

My nicest cruise souvenir is a print of Mickey and Minnie hugging in front of the cruise ship from the '05 Members Cruise. :goodvibes

The two of them going was my idea. My DD is 15 and it was her spring break. She won't be in the house for many more years, I thought it would be a nice memory maker for them. None of us had ever cruised, so they were the guinea pigs, the three nighter was a good first try. The seas were so rough the first night my wife got seasick. it was so rough it was difficult to walk down the hallways, fortunately by 10 pm they hit smoother seas and she was just fine from then on out.

BTW this was a cash trip we didn't use points. For one thing my points are already spoken for for the year and another reason I checked on how many points it would taken versus how much points rent for and it wouldn't have been a good value pointwise. The points it would've taken would rent for about $2300 and the cruise cost $1700.

I think that first evening is typically rougher because of crossing through and slightly against the gulf stream. I never had much problem... just a bit of "woah that feels kind of weird".

Cool! Our cruise on the Disney Wonder starts this Sunday! :cool1:

I think that one interesting thing about the first night is that none of the CM's seem to remember that it sometimes is a rough night! I got comments like "It's never been like that before." Well, it's been like that on the 2 DCL 3-4 night cruises that we've been on!:goodvibes

We have a cruise booked for next March (cash ressies). Should we notify someone/entity that we are DVC members? We booked our cruise through Dreams Unlimited and they never asked us about DVC.
