Cruise gifts or room decoration

I haven't seen hardly any posts on this.....so I was wondering if anyone had ever taken advantage of the DCL Gift site or The Perfect Gift site? And if so, is it worth it? Do they get the stuff into your room before u get there or is it later. I'd really like it to be a surprise for my daughter. Thanks ahead of time for any infor!!!!!!!! :earboy2

We used The Perfect Gift last year, the basket was in the room when we got there. I was just deciding what to order for this years cruise basket for DD's. Shirley at The Perfect Gift is very easy to work with.

We have never used the dcl gifts. We heard so much about Shirley at the perfect gift that we went that way. Needless to say we were more than happy with that. Used it for gift baskets with sand items, and snacks, as well as beer and wine for the adults.

The bon voyage package was waiting in the room when we got there--and that was fairly early, like before 1:00, for the Magic in 2003. Have never worked with Shirley but she certainly has earned a legion of satisfied customers as the board will show. I will explain my reason for going with DCL, which I have also already booked for upcoming cruises--maybe I am missing something at Shirley's site, but I did not see content-specific packages (like telling me what wine is in the package, etc.) I really prefer as a personal matter to have a specific menu like that, and weird hour internet trolling for cruise planning makes doing everything by internet easy for me. I got the impression that Shirley is much more flexible in what she can prepare and will customize--which are good things, to be sure--and so that is why I did not see more specifics. But having something special waiting in the room is a big hit--DS loved the chocolate covered strawerries and I'm not supposed to mention if he sipped any champagne...ahem, anyway, and that is the first thing he asks about when we talk about upcoming cruises, will we have those chocolate dipped strawberries...nice that with all there is going on in the world, he gets so much pleasure from something so modest.

I've used Shirley twice. Both times were awesome. Both times the things were waiting in my room when I first got there. This last cruise it was a Spode Christmas tree! Shirley even included some live greens so our room smelled like live tree! She also jimmy-rigged a ribbon handle to the box so that carrying it off the ship was easier. In fact, I ended up carrying TWO off the ship (mine and one for a friend who was flying and couldn't get theirs back)

On the other hand. My parents just sailed with us and they ordered the Mickey pearl necklace from DCL gifts (so they could give it to me for my birthday on the cruise) It was NOT there in the room when they arrived and they had to call guest services. It did end up being delivered and all was well, but it was stressful for them at first because it wasn't where it was supposed to be.

Hey there Ohiominnie - so glad you were able to get the trees home ok - most of all that the Christmas trees arrived well - I intended to fixed them up, but they were so fragile, I just didn't want to take the chance to take them out of its safe surrounding - then I thought, what a great way for a family to decorate the tree since it wouldn't take a lot of time or fuss - wasn't the greens really smelling of the season - I ordered the top of the line greens just for it to do its job -
Anyhow to anyone else with questions, the Perfect Gift website really sucks and I am so sorry, but my son just hasn't had the time to update it in a long time - I realize also that it takes time to go over all that we do or what we can offer - there really isn't too much that we won't try to do for our customers - I also allow anyone to send personal items to include in the gift baskets and I do it at no cost - I feel it just makes it more special to those receiving the gifts and it looks more expensive with less cost.
Anyhow the only thing I can say is that we do try our darnest to make your gift as near perfect as possible and will stay at your budget -
