We are 'buying' our cruise since the DVC points don't get as much. Is there anything on the cruise for DVC members?

Thanks

They have a member get together that was interesting. They play some trivia games for DVC prizes, give out lots of freebies (luggage tags, hats, mousepads etc) and give you and update on what's going on. And of course, they tell you all about add-on incentives LOL It was about 45 minutes long. You don't have to be staying on points to go and you don't need an invitation (although I think if you use your points, there is an invite in your stateroom).

On our 7 day that had two events. One was a DVC reception type thing and the other was to discuss add on incentives.

We had just bought DVC the day before we sailed and we had missed hearing about the reception but we did make it to the add-on event just to see what was going on.

Initially there were only two couples there. The other couple had bought within the first month of DVC's existence and had 2000 points, we had been members since Friday and had 150 points. They commented that it couldn't be more diverse than that.

on our first 7 day cruise in 2000, there were also two events, one specifically for members cruising, and a second one for those that were interested in adding points or buying into the club. they gave away hats , towels and pins at the members only event, and then gave away mousepads and coasters and a few towels at the pitch meeting, mainly for answering trivia and dvc type questions.

Can we bring our guests (non DVC memers) along?

Thanks

Yes, we did and they had as much fun as we did. In fact, they even bought into DVC, how's that for a sales pitch!!!

We're new DVC members (ink still drying on resale, haven't received our membership cards yet) & have our 1st cruise, non-points, booked for Dec. Other than the aforementioned invite, is the meeting posted somewhere onboard, the DVC member website, or do I just need to ask when I check in - thanks?

The DVC meetings are posted in your Navigator that you will find in your cabin each day.

keishashadow, if it's not in the Navigator, stop by the DVC reps desk and ask! That's what we did last year when we didn't sail on points. The rep told us when, where, and took down our cabin #'s to send info to our cabins.

I wish I'd have known. We just returned and are DVC members and didn't know that they exited.

There is always next time. :flower:
