Cruise Docs - one out of two arrived? *update*

Well, I've been sweating it out since we leave for WDW on 11/27 and hadn't received our documents (land/sea w/12/02 cruise). It is me and my little grandson (DGS) going. Last week, our TA said the docs are on the way.

Today, UPS dropped off the box, but only one travel booklet (mine) was inside. There is no booklet for my DGS. In the past, we have always gotten one travel booklet per person. I am awaiting a reply from DU on this as it's important I get everything signed by my daughter and notarized before the Thanksgiving holiday, when it will be more difficult to get something notarized at the last minute because of the lost day with the holiday, my daughter's schedule, etc. I would only like to make one trip to my daughters to do this.

Until I hear from DU, am I right to assume there should be two travel booklets?

Thanks,
Tink

We just received our's on Friday. It had the one brown envelope with four travel booklets (there are four of us) inside along with the gift guide and the detail book.

We have always received a complete set of docs for each person. Did your docs come directly from DCL or from DU?

Thanks for the replies. My doc box came from DCL, Celebration, FL, but my TA at DU said she mailed them out last Wed. Is it possible another package will arrive from DU? When I look through the docs, my DGS's name is no where to be found, but it does say there are two guests on this package

*edited* You don't think the docs for DGS were sent to HIS house, do you?

If DU did mail them out, I would hope they know what they sent (or didn't send). If they came directly from DCL, then your TA should contact DCL and get it straightened out. Make sure the TA knows your travel plans and that this is fairly urgent.

If for some reason the docs for your DGS don't make it to you in time, I think you can get a notarized letter from your daughter, that authorizes you to take her DS, and then pick up the docs at the port. I would suggest you get a letter anyway, stating that your DGS can travel out of the country with you and authorizing you to make any necessary medical decisions.

It is possible that the docs were sent to your DGS. Does DU or DCL have that address?

Good Luck.........

DCL/DU both have DGS's address. They requested it since his address is different than mine.

I will definetly get a signed notarized letter from my daughter for medical needs and for taking DGS out of the country. After the medical fiasco we went through last year spending the first day of our WDW vacation in the Celebration ER (never even made it to the park) because the signed letter I had from my daughter for DGS was NOT notarized (the clinic refused to treat him), I want to be sure I have covered all bases this time.

According to the UPS tracking, this package was mailed on Wednesday Nov 10, which is the same day DU said they mailed it out.

I guess I won't know anything until I hear back from DU. I'll update then.

Thanks again,
Tink

I believe that that document package has the form for minors traveling with people other than their parent(s). Can you take the form out of your packet and have it completed by your daughter?

Yes, thanks, I do see that form. I was worried that, because it was the form in my travel booklet and not the form from DGS's travel booklet, that there might be a problem if the one in his booklet was not filled out. I normally don't get this worried over these details, well, ok, maybe I do, lol, but after what happened last year at the ER, I want to be certain I have all bases covered. Until then, I think the form in my booklet would be fine along with the raised seal birth cert and medical permission form. :)

When you get to the terminal they will rip everything they need out of each book, so it doesn't matter which book it comes from as long as it is filled out correctly.

I just heard from my TA at DU. Apparently DCL sent my 6 year old grandson's docs to his house. I left a message for my daughter to let her know to look for them, but haven't heard back yet. She lives in an apartment in the city, so I'm just a bit worried about a secure delivery there, if the docs are left unattended.

A question to those who take neighbors children and/or other children who do not live at the same address as you -- do the documents typically go to their address or yours? I find it odd that the docs went to my grandson's house, but with today's security measures, I guess anything is possible.

*edited to say the docs made it safe and secure to DGS's house*
