Cruise credit amount for cancelled sailings through March 31

Odd. My cruise is during the 30 day ban and I still haven't heard anything about it being canceled. I just checked DCL's website and when I view my booked cruises, I get the message that it's canceled and not to contact them until I get an email from them.
I just received my email regarding our cancelled cruise today. Took about 24 hours for them to send me the "formal" email once the cruise was cancelled from my existing reservations. Good luck!

Thank you for this. That was all I asked initially:

"Is anybody else in this situation, and if you rebooked before the 150% offer, have you asked your TA/DCL about making up the difference as a cruise credit?

I know others have more pressing needs right now, so I'm not going to try to bother Costco at the moment, as we are "safely" rebooked. But I think it's a fair question."

As for the repeated explanations from others as to why people like me are out of luck, I've already said "enough of that" (see post 25). I didn't come here asking what YOU thought, I came here asking if anybody had any luck in a similar situation. That's all. But based on several responses, I felt like I had to defend myself for merely asking the question.

Believe me, I UNDERSTAND the business side of it. I have an MBA and teach finance for a living. I just think that given the way the last week and a half have unfolded, it is hogwash. We are living in an unprecedented time at the moment, and trying to relate this situation to anything that happens in "normal" times just rings hollow. I've explained that as far as I care to.

So again, thank you @Cats12. It sounds like it may be worth a phone call to Disney. I just know how crazy things are right now and hate to bother them, as we ARE "safely" rebooked, while others may not be yet.
Did you call ?
I still haven't heard back from Disney on whether or not they are going to give me the 150% credit yet, please let me know if you get a response :)

I posted this earlier, but I'll repeat it. Princess is. Now maybe DCL won't follow suit, but it is certainly worth appealing to them to extend the later offer to those that cancelled earlier. The cruise industry is already taking a PR beating from this. I would guess they don't want further bad press coming from people who were doing the responsible thing by cancelling their reservations prior to the cruise line cancelling the sailing.
Princess is single-handedly responsible for 80% of the bad press that the cruise industry is receiving at the moment. I can't even keep a count of how many of their ships have been subject to one coronavirus issue or the other. The good companies shouldn't have to clean up after the mess created by the bad apples.

The one thing I will fault DCL for is the delay in communicating with the guests. Other than maybe to take cues from WDW closures, there shouldn't be any need to delay such important announcements. It's also a prudent public health measure to keep people from getting on the planes, into hotels, in waiting lines, etc.

They the cruise lines should be giving a 100% cash refund to all that want it. Baloney to those that don't

Yes, not sure if you saw my later post, but they are granting us the 150% cruise credit.

Other than maybe Disney, most of them can't afford to. They need the cash to manage the heavy debt loads they took on in the last few years to keep expanding the fleet. That's partly why they are doing the cancellations in batches - so that they can roll over the credits and new deposits.

I re-booked the day before the cancellation. My information was taken for a follow-up but I was not told I would get the extra 25% credit at this time. I was told I will hear something within a week.

Sorry, I didn’t see your earlier post but When you called did you speak to a CM or a supervisor and did they give you the credit while they spoke to you on the phone or did they say that someone would get back to you as I have called twice and have been told both times that someone would get back to me as they had to look into it....this is odd

The CM at DCL contacted somebody else to verify... I recall him saying something about checking with shoreside services. But he did check with a manager of some sort. Then he told me I had to call Costco to get this confirmed, as they are my TA.

Upon calling Costco, they contacted DCL, and again DCL confirmed I would receive the 150% cruise credit. The amount above the cruise fare would be applied as non-refundable on-board credit. However, they also said it would take them a little while to process, and it won't show up right away. Since the call is recorded, they wrote it in my notes, and we don't sail until February, I am not concerned. I'm sure it will show up eventually, they are just making everything work within their system right now.

Ok, I will wait another week or so and if I haven’t heard anything I will try again to see if they have an answer about my credit.
Thanks for letting me know.

Has anyone else heard anything about credits for those that rescheduled just prior to Disney cancelling?

I'm curious if there have been any changes, we were supposed to go on the last cruise and cancelled a couple days before it departed. We haven't rebooked anything yet because we are waiting to see what happens this summer.

I was informed today that I will be getting 125% credit on my future cruise. It wont cover the cost of the same room in the near future (so we will have to look at room options) but it will help on a future cruise and is better then nothing at all :)

125% offer was extended to March 14th sailing people who cancelled right before DCL did.

Looks official for 125%, all sailings from March 14 to April 12

Curious about our cruise which was booked with DVC points. Imagine 25% of $0 is $0. I can't imagine we would get anything as on board credit since we used points.
