I'm in the process of looking for some new clothes for my Dec. cruise. In addition to shorts, tanks, and tees, will I need sweatshirts, sweaters, etc?
Also, for evening wear, many of the gowns/dresses I like are sleeveless. Will it be too cold? Should I buy dresses that cover my shoulders?
I'm confused, because when I checked the Dec temps for the Caribbean, it doesn't see too hot----80 in the day and 65 at night. But some Disers have said it's hotter than that.
I just don't know how/what to pack as far as a ratio of long sleeves to short sleeves.

Can anyone help?

I went on the January 10th Eastern this year and it was very chilly in Orlando. St Maarten was hot....at least 85, I got one heck of a sunburn. St Thomas/John was kinda hot too....snorkled and relaxed there. Castaway Cay was beautiful but did get a little windy which caused it to feel a bit chilly. The water was warm everywhere but in Castaway Cay.

In my opinion, I would bring or wear at least one sweatshirt and maybe a pair of sweat pants or something. I only wore the sweatshirt on the day I boarded the ship and bought a fleece "disney cruise line" top and wore it home. I dont recall needing winter'ish clothes any other time :)

Hope this helps :smooth:

We were on the 12-27-03 Eastern. DW is always cold at home, is known at work for sitting outside on a 100 degree day at lunch, in a sweater, eating hot soup and coffee.
She was never cold on the cruise except a few times inside the ship, like the theaters because of the a/c.

We went on the Western 1-3-04. We wore shorts and bathing suits at all ports. We felt that the water was cold, but the outdoor weather was definitely great for shorts. As for the evening wear - definitely bring a shawl or something - we were cold due to the on-board ac.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to buy evening wear for dinner with covered shoulders!
