Can you still book a cruise on points 11 months out even if the new cruise point charts aren't out yet?

How do they handle this ? They go by current charts?

What do they do if the points change to either more required or less required?

Thansk!

Hi,

I just sent you a PM!! I think MS uses current point charts! Call and see what they say. I know for sure that you can't book until 11 months out. Talk to you soon!!

Actually, the way it has worked in the past is that they take your reservation but you agree to cover any point increase that might occur and there is no "free cancellation" when the charts come out. This happens each year until they have the negotiated charts ready (typically in March or April) and several people have spoken on these boards about how it is handled. If you want the reservation at 11 months they I think use the old charts with the understanding that any increases must be covered by your points sight unseen as to what those increases might be.

This is my understanding. Some were hit with some pretty good increases unexpectedly a couple of years ago. Just one more thing that makes cash far better than a points option.
