Cruise before or after Disneyworld stay

I agree with the majority - cruise after the parks. After the hustle and bustle of the parks (depending on what time of year you go), there is nothing better than 3, 4, or 7 days of sailing on DCL. For me, it doesn't matter whether I'm leaving the parks or the ship at the end of the trip, I always have post-Disney blues. They do seem to be lessened after the cruise however - maybe it's the massage in the spa while onboard?

Cruise after for sure ... and I personally recommend the massage on Castaway Cay rather than in the spa!

I agree with most. Have been on two cruises and 5 WDW trips, our sixth this December! Going to WDW is magical but if you are doing a cruise also, you'll need the relaxing time on the boat.:cool1:

I can't believe we are planning another trip back home so soon. We just came back on Jan3, 2013 after a 11 nights stay at Kidani and had a great time as usual.

Our up coming trip is from Oct 12-26 and we are considering doing a 4 night Bahamian on Disney Dream. Two cruise itineraries are availabe ( Oct 13 & Oct 20 ) and I am not sure whether to go at the beginning of our trip or wait till the end.
:)

If I were you, I would do both. That's our plan in Nov.

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I was glad that I had a few days at Disney AFTER my cruise this past October. I was on the October 20th cruise in 2012 that sailed through hurricane Sandy. Our ship came in very late, and many people with flights that day had a hard time getting out of Orlando. We were not worried since we were not flying out for two days.

It is rare, but bad weather DOES happen. I was glad that we came in a day early, and left two days after we were supposed to get in.

We're doing WDW before a 3 day Dream cruise then back to BCV for a night.

I'm gonna say cruise first world second.

We sailed last spring and it was quite the shock to have to jump straight back into the real world. We live 3 hours south of port canaveral, walked off the ship and drove straight home. I very clearly remember my husband helping me get lunch ready for our kids and yelling for Roman, one of our waiters, to come cut up their chicken nuggets. Lolol.

If my in laws hadn't been with us you'd better believe we would've at least hit DTD and a resort for lunch before the long trek home. Anything to soften the blow.

I'll add a vote for Cruise last. The last DCL trip we took we went to WDW after and while we had a good time it would have been much better to rest on the deck of a ship after spending 4 days at the parks. This summer we're trying it again and we're switching it up. 5 days at WDW and 7 days on the Fantasy! Can't wait!
