i will be cruising next aug. on the disney magic for 7 days in the western caribbean. i am so excited. i have read a lot so far but i was wondering if anyone had any specific info for this cruise. i will be cruising with my husband, and two children a girl 11 and a boy 6.

i wanted to know about Dolphin Discovery Cozumel

also wanted to come down the night before any tips on hotels and any good tips on transportation.

is it smarter to book airfare through the travel agent or to get it on your own.

any other good tips will be greatly appreciated.

There are about 6 DISERS so far that are booked on that cruise.

I am also from NJ (Burlington County) and will be traveling with my DH, DD(9) and DS(6) and my sister and her DH and her DS(8) and DD(4)

This is our 3rd disney cruise - we did the western in August 2002 and loved it. We flew in the day before and rented a car from Avis and drove to the Radisson in Port Canaveral (1 mile from port) There is an Avis drop off location right at the hotel and they will shuttle you over to the Port for free.

As far as airfare goes, I always book my own - you can set up a fare watcher on Travelocity and they will notify you when prices change.

thank you for this information. i hope your trip is awesome and have a great time.

This is the Jersey Cruise, right? LOL

I always book my own flights, It's cheaper and you have more control over your flight times. We will fly down the day before and spend the night near the port (Radisson?). Our last 3 cruises we flew in the morning of and I think we will be more rested coming in the day before.

My DD will be turning 7 just a week before the cruise. She wnts to do the Dolphin Discovery at Cozumel. I'm thinking of booking through Disney, even though I know you can get it cheaper by booking directly. When I checked out the Chakanaab site they didn't offer what I wanted for the day we dock there. Although I tend to be very frugal I think booking through Disney excursions may be worth the peace of mind. I also want to go mini-golfing on Cozumel.

I'm hoping to actually get to Grand Cayman this time. We couldn't tender there last Jan because of bad weather.

My best suggestions are:
1. Pack light.
2. Keep reading the boards for good info.
3. Read your Navigator every evening so you know what is happening the next day onboard.
4. Take your time, slow down and enjoy the beautiful details of the ship.
5. Book your next cruise while still onboard.

Have fun planning!

thank you very much. can you let me know how you put the countdown to your trip. thank you very much.
