The cabins that are made available to the DVC are usually not considered to be the best due to location or other factors. If Disney can fill the boat with higher paying cash Guests, they will. They do set aside a limited number of cabins each cruse for the DVC so DVC can advertise the perk.

I have always gotten the exact cabin I wanted using my points. The availability has been the same as what's available booking cash on the DCL website. I usually pick my cabin there, and then call DVC to book is using points. I think the quantity in each category is limited, but not the cabins themselves.

We have booked on some points and some cash for both of our previous cruises. The cash amount actually came out to a lil less than that through DCL. However, we are thinking of booking a cruise for 4/12 and are tooling with the idea of renting points instead of using points. think we're in the same boat and not sure what to do.

Does anyone have a link for the 2012 sailings(points)?

I can only find 2011.
