Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't been posting for a while, although I have been lurking, and thanks for all the nice emails.
We sailed on June 3, and there were some noteworthy experiences. I am going to post my trip report on blogger.com later, but for now here are some of the highlights:
-Free soda program wasn't in place yet (which was fine, as we are not soda drinkers), but the fresh brewed iced tea was HEAVENLY! The only odd thing was that they were still serving the tap swill in Triton's for lunch on Nassau day. Ick! But the rest of the time, the fresh tea was excellent.
-I tried the aromastone massage (wonderful!) and the new incarnation of Absolute Face & Body, which features a Japanese silk facial and a MUCH higher price tag. I really enjoyed it, and my skins was soooo soft afterwards, but for the price I will probably stick with something less expensive, like ladies morning, which is still reasonable.
-We disembarked quite late for Castaway Cay, plus ate lunch, and the four hammocks near the Outlook Bar were still unclaimed. Three remained unclaimed until the time we returned to the ship. Instead of stressing over "hammock hogs," get some exercise and walk a little farther down the beach! Those hammocks almost always remain free for most of the day.
-Hubby's bike was stolen at the adult beach! This is the first time that has ever happened. Sad that someone was so desperate for a bike and too cheap to pay the nominal charge.
-Service, food, etc. were excellent, as always. We had Richard as our server, and his stories were hilarious! We also had great tablemates (three other parties)...I hated to miss them one night for Palo. Two of the parties went to Palo on the last night and then came to dinner at Parrot Cay afterwards just to hang out because we were all having such a good time. I know some people like to dine alone, but we prefer a crowd, and this had to be one of the best ever.
-Michael Jackson numbers have been put back into the 80s Party (we didn't attend, but someone told us).
-It was a holiday in Nassau, so the main stores were closed, but we saw the most beautiful fireworks display from our table in Palo that night.
-They are still serving fresh Ceasar salads on Castaway Cay. I always forget because they are not in the main serving line. Save some room and look for them.
That's enough for now, but the detailed report will be ready soon. It's been a busy week at work, so I am just now getting the time to settle down and recover from vacation! It was hectic but fun, as we spent the week before our cruise in Kissimmee and had exhausting fun spending the last 2-3 hours of each day at Typhoon Lagoon, when the crowds were gone.
