Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't been posting for a while, although I have been lurking, and thanks for all the nice emails.
We sailed on June 3, and there were some noteworthy experiences. I am going to post my trip report on blogger.com later, but for now here are some of the highlights:

-Free soda program wasn't in place yet (which was fine, as we are not soda drinkers), but the fresh brewed iced tea was HEAVENLY! The only odd thing was that they were still serving the tap swill in Triton's for lunch on Nassau day. Ick! But the rest of the time, the fresh tea was excellent.

-I tried the aromastone massage (wonderful!) and the new incarnation of Absolute Face & Body, which features a Japanese silk facial and a MUCH higher price tag. I really enjoyed it, and my skins was soooo soft afterwards, but for the price I will probably stick with something less expensive, like ladies morning, which is still reasonable.

-We disembarked quite late for Castaway Cay, plus ate lunch, and the four hammocks near the Outlook Bar were still unclaimed. Three remained unclaimed until the time we returned to the ship. Instead of stressing over "hammock hogs," get some exercise and walk a little farther down the beach! Those hammocks almost always remain free for most of the day.

-Hubby's bike was stolen at the adult beach! This is the first time that has ever happened. Sad that someone was so desperate for a bike and too cheap to pay the nominal charge.

-Service, food, etc. were excellent, as always. We had Richard as our server, and his stories were hilarious! We also had great tablemates (three other parties)...I hated to miss them one night for Palo. Two of the parties went to Palo on the last night and then came to dinner at Parrot Cay afterwards just to hang out because we were all having such a good time. I know some people like to dine alone, but we prefer a crowd, and this had to be one of the best ever.

-Michael Jackson numbers have been put back into the 80s Party (we didn't attend, but someone told us).

-It was a holiday in Nassau, so the main stores were closed, but we saw the most beautiful fireworks display from our table in Palo that night.

-They are still serving fresh Ceasar salads on Castaway Cay. I always forget because they are not in the main serving line. Save some room and look for them.

That's enough for now, but the detailed report will be ready soon. It's been a busy week at work, so I am just now getting the time to settle down and recover from vacation! It was hectic but fun, as we spent the week before our cruise in Kissimmee and had exhausting fun spending the last 2-3 hours of each day at Typhoon Lagoon, when the crowds were gone.

great to have you back, will check out your report later, sounds like you had another great cruise.

I'm just curious. Do a lot of staff members recognize you on the ship? What is it about Disney that makes you want to go on the same ship again and again? Do you ever get tired of the ship/activities/ports?

Your question actually brings out one of the big reasons why we keep returning...the crew DOES recognize us, and we've made some great friends over the course of our many cruises. They make us feel like we're returning "home," like having a vacation home that you keep returning to. We don't even bother to get off the ship in Nassau, although I could never get tired of the Western Caribbean ports and I'm looking forward to California/Mexico. Our tablemates were astounded by the friendliness of the crew and how many of them recognized us. They were so impressed by that, and by the general excellence of their experience, that one couple booked another cruise for Sept. They will be sailing on the cruise right before our next one.

Oops, the above post is from me (Barb), but I am on Tony's computer looking up movie times, so I forgot that he's signed in.

Do tell, where oh where do I find them??? :teeth:

The salads are made in the area near the frozen yogurt (under the big picnic shelters).

Blogger.com is Google's site for "blogging" (web journaling). I will post the link to my Disney Cruise Line trip reports as soon as the latest one is done.

It was GREAT hearing from your Barb, so sorry to hear that Tony's bike was stolen on CC. All in all, sounds like you still had a WONDERful time!!!

hi Barb!!

so you're back from your 38th cruise and we're about to go on our 2nd cruise....
let's see.....2 years ago when we went on our first, you and Tony were on your??....22th?...25Th?....i don't recall, but you've certainly got quite a few under your belt in those two years....
i hope they were as enjoyable as our first was....
and for that matter, i hope our second will be as enjoyable....

we'll miss having DCL royalty on board with us this time around......we'll be in the walt disney suite so maybe we'll sort of feel like royalty ....anyway...good seeing your posts...

oh...one question....where is the fresh ice tea available? up at the beverage station?

It's available in the sitdown restaurants. Triton's had it at dinner, so I have no idea why they were serving the tap stuff at lunch. We skipped Animators for Palo, but it was available in Parrot Cay too.

Hi Barb,

Are you talking about Richard from Chilie? If so, he was our server in Feb! He was a riot. We had actually requested Katarina from Croatia. It sounded like DCL would have accomodated us, but she had just left on her vacation a week prior to our cruise. Richard greeted us by saying he was Katarina's husband!

Was Levi the assistant server? I thought they made a great pair.

Thanks for the post. We missed you on the boards recently.

Yes, that was Richard! He kept trying to convince everyone at our table that he was the husband of Michelle, our head server! He was an absolute riot. Did he tell you the story about the helicopter?
Our assistance server was from Thailand, but I don't remember her name off the top of my head. She was quite shy compared to Richard...maybe that's why they paired her up with him.

Could you post the link in this thread when your report is up? I have subscribed to the thread so I won't miss the report! :hyper: :hyper:

Barb, how funny. We really got some great pics of Richard on this trip. I will try and send you a PM and attach one!

Well Barb, I was not sure how to attach a picture to an e-mail through this site. If you want, send me a PM with your e-mail and I will get the picture sent over.

Or, if a Disser can walk me throug the process, that is fine to!

Thanks.

Okay, the full report is on blogger.com now. I actually copied all my reports out there, but I think this URL will jump you right to #38:
