We have people with tour books, maps and GPS satelites. I think you guys are going to give us some nice competition.

I can't wait!
Tina

GOOD CLEAN FUN!!!! Sure Ave...I'll "Pelt" you with cold beers as we drive by...it'll be a "drive-bye canning" LOL!

Tina, the Capt Marvin link is www.captainmarvins.com
If you want to go with a bunch of DIS'ers, we are going on the 10am 1/2 day trip. Be sure to mention you are with the "DIS" group. Ruth (from CM) said she would try to put us all on the same boat. Because they require a credit card to make the reservation, everyone must make their own reservation.

Tina, let us know when you have the info for deposit for the "ScavengEAR Hunt" and I will send in my $. I assume that children are the same price as adults?
I am the least competitive person I know:p I usually just figure on coming in last and it's always a pleasent surprise if I finish anything other then last:eek:

Got to go watch 24!!!

On Grand Cayman we are planning on doing the Atlantis Submarine and some shopping. Thanks for the offer, though.

Tina :)

I've been lurking, but haven't had time to respond. Plus have problem lately gettting on aol @ home.

I finally got a chance to talk to Norm about the Scavenger Hunt and sign us up to do it. We also like the carts so is anyone else interested in going with us and splitting the cost?

So what else do I need to do right now? Do we need to sign up individually or are we just sending you the money? Thanks so much for putting this all together.

I still need to sign up for Capt Marvin's and do my Radisson reservations. Tina we are probably doing the Tulcum Ruins. That is what we signed up for last year, but never made it there.

I watched American Idol tonight. Some of these people are really bad. I agreed with Simon on their performances. Josh (the Marine) and Corey seemed to be the best. I didn't realize that Corey (the Party animal) had made it to the finals.

Need to send this off now, before AOL boots me off the computer again.

Nancy

Oh! One more thing to Arlene and any other Survivor fans. There is an official Survivor thread over on the Community Board. I will provide the link below. I noticed cdnMickeylover made her way over to it from the last time I provided the link. Come join the fun: Surivor Link

Hi Nancy - We are not ready to commit at this time. Sounds like you guys are gonna have a lot of fun. I know the two things we wanna do in KeyWest is the Hemmingway home and the sunset (three if you count seeing the cat juggler). That's about it for our plans at this time.

Rosemary--- Last week I watched Survivor for the first time. I just wanted to jump through the TV and slap those girls silly and get them organized. I don't know if I can watch it again unless they get with the program.

Nancy

I know exactly what you mean, Nancy. I am on a Fantasy League tribe over at the CBS website (okay, make that more than one tribe) for Survivor and just discovered that one of my tribes made it to the top 100! We are #91! Not too shabby... LOL

OK if everyone else is getting a cart, so are we! I am so excited about this hunt and can't wait to beat the "Germans" and the "Over the Hill" bunch!

Dan

We had a grand total of 18 minutes of sunshine today. For the last seven days we have only had 91 minutes:(

I guess that the over the hill remark was directed at all of the New Yorkers Dan;)????:jester: I know that it wasn't meant to come our way:jester: If the electric cart is for a good ole boy from the south we have to have our shotgun mounted in the back window:jester:
Mike

Hello everyone,

I am at the hospital again. We have only two babies and I sincerely hope it stays that way. I am pooped.

I want a recount on that count of 91 minutes of sunshine! I don't think it has been more than 15 minutes, unless it was while I was asleep and in that case WAKE ME UP next time he shows his face! I am so tired of the clouds and cold! The snow is pretty but scary to drive in. Actually, it is fun to drive in but the other drivers are scary to drive with.

Give me warm sunshine, soft flower scented breezes, Arca the killer whale in the distance (inside joke ;) ) and some of those expensive drinks they serve on the sand. Walt, I needa break!

The little cars sound and look like fun. Dressing up sounds like even more fun. I have never been on a scavenger hunt so this sounds like fun. May the best team win! May the rest of us just have a blast!

I want to see the cat juggler too and I hope he is in the square so we can see the sunset also!

Time for the Supervisor to make a round. Will get off for now. :teeth: Take care, Kathy with a K

Tina, The Hunt is sounding better and better. I'm really looking forward to KW now.
Eric, DD is all in favor of a kid's list. What kind of info do you want?
Papa, Still working on the chat thing, don't know what the problem is. I hate that red X.
Got to feed the crew, check back Later. Ave'

Ave,
this seems to be a misunderstanding: I intended one of the older kids makeing their list and offered to be of assistance. Doing two lists and the deckplans would be too time-consuming even for me, Sorry ;)

In your dreams, Dan :p Or are you Cartman, now? :jester:

Some new information that I forgot to mention. The Scavenger Hunt people thought that if our group wanted to dress all in the same tee shirt or the same colors for the hunt that might be neat. What do you all think?

As for the payment, there is no need to do anything until July. We'll send our checks directly to them.

We are scheduled for the hunt from 1PM to 4PM, so there will be plenty of time to do other things in Key West. To revisit some of the sights, shopping, Mallory Square and the sunset.

We added two people to our pre-registration list. Welcome Aboard!

dan and scott (Dan & Scott) - 2
cdnmickeylover (Fiona & Jim) - 2
Viking (Eric & Anja) - 2
DizneeDenna (Denna & David) - 2
Hopkins (Tina & Bill) - 2
RellingTwin (Mary, George, Regina & George) - 4
Twinave (Ave, Mark, Mary & Casey) - 4
Windermere (Nancy & George) - 2
scootersmom (Colleen, Don & Josh(maybe Mandy)) - 3
Missy and Tammy (Missy & Tammy) - 2
@GoofyNut (Cathy and Art) - 2
papa (Mike & Kathy) - 2
padisneyfan (Nancy & Norm) - 2

That's 31 people!!!!!

www.keywesthunt.com

*Cost?
It's $20/person for 3 hours. Prepayment by check is required three months prior to excursion (July). They don't take credit cards. If we miss Key West, the checks will be refunded. I'll provide an address and more info on this in July so we can mail our checks to them.

*Place and time?
We are going to meet on Sunday, October 12th, 2003 at 1PM in front of the stairs to the Hilton Hotel Lobby. It's to the right of the right brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship. The Magic usually docks in front of the Hilton Hotel.

*Electric Cart?
If one needs an electric cart, the scavenger hunt people can point you in the right direction to rent one. If they rent it prior, you will be charged for the hour that it's sitting idle with them. Inaddition, you must fill out the paperwork. The electric cart place is one and a half blocks down Greene Street. The Hilton is on Greene Street, so this is about a 2 minute walk. Two electric cart places they use are Key West Cruisers @ (305)294-4724 http://keywest.com/keywestcruisers/ on Truman Ave at Truman and Duval and Reef Mobile (formerly Randal J Scooters) @ (305) 296-0208 www.reefmobile.com on Greene Street (near Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval). The Reef Mobile Electric Carts are themed, but have changed management and are going to be themed according to "reefs", like shark, manatee, dolphin, baracouda or octopus in a reef theme instead of the polka-dotted one on the hunt website. Call these companies to make reservations if you require an electric cart.

*Sites?
Southermost Point, Hemmingways House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points that are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too. At the end of the hunt, people gather at the "mystery location" for the awards ceremony where all the points are tallied.

That's it for now. They will be checking in on us to give our group more information, so they will be posting shortly and I will also. If more people want to join the group, just reply to this thread. If I missed someone, sorry. Just remind me, and I'll add you. I think I got everyone. I had lots of pages to go thru. LOL!

Tina
