Cruise 10/11/2003

Count us in with the Radisson group. However, it will end up being like last year that we won't fly down until early evening and get over there after 10pm. I have to finalize all my plans for my May cruise (only have the cruise and airfare done so far) and then move onto the October cruise.

That would be great if Rae could join us. Maybe I will finally get to meet her. She was one of the one's I wanted to meet last year and I never did, not even at the Brunch. Now if we could get George and Barb Jeffers to join us that would be great.

Mike-- I would be glad to declutter your house after I get mine done. I would have no emotional attachment to anything in your house and it would be easy to throw out. Plus I would get to visit Nashville. My only trip there was for a conference and mostly just saw the inside of the Oprayland Hotel. The amusement park was next to the hotel at that time and there were some outlets across the street. So really didn't see much.

Garbage man took everything this week (he had to as I bought those extra tags), so I am all set to start again.

Fiona--- I hope your SIL recovers soon from her gallbladder problems.

I started a book on Monday while Norm was at the hospital and now having trouble putting it down. While going through all my treatments, I was averaging about 2 books/week. It helped to kill time while waiting for appointments. I'm into mysteries. However, the last James Patterson book "Violets are Blue" which is an Alex Cross story has turned me off on the Alex Cross series. It was too gorry and so descriptive that I could hardly read it, but needed to know the ending. He has a new Alex Cross book out, but I'm passing on it. James Patterson writes such a wide ranges of novels and I like his other mysteries but no more Alex Cross for me.

Dan: Thanks for trying.
Fiona: I LOVE cold pizza for breakfast!!!!
Nancy: LOVE James Patterson, But Violet are Blue was not one of his best works. LOL Have you read David Balducci (sp) Christmas Train? Very Good!
Got to run, Love you all!
Mary see you in 2 weeks!
Later, Ave'

When you go to the disney cruise line forum and click on the number of posts in the thread(the third column) it gives you a breakdown of the number of individual posts. How about that Eric? Also the ranking of the most gabby(2nd place for me and Kathy) Mike

Well that's a neat function Mike. I would have never figured that I would be that high on the list though.

At this point we plan on doing OKW the night before instead of the Radisson. Last year we didn't land until 10:30 or 11pm so we wouldn't be able to join in on any of the fun anyway. Anyone planning on staying on property and want to share transportation to the port Saturday morn?

Nancy

At this point, we're thinking we'd like to fly in on Thursday evening and stay two nights before the cruise. Possibly going to the Space Center on Friday.

I've been checking out the hotels on Dave's site and since we want two rooms, it looks like we'd get a better rate at The Resort at Cocoa Beach. A two bedroom oceanview in October is only $130/night. That way Don and I could have one bedroom and Grandma and Josh the other.

Have any of you ever seen or stayed at this one?

Colleen

Just checking in to this thread after returning from my 5th Wonder cruise in 12 months. Sure wish I could afford to catch up with Barb and Tony on the number of cruises per year, but it will never happen. :p

I booked onboard for the 28 Sept. 03 Wonder 4-day because my favorite server will still be working, plus it is before the worst of the "sick flu" season. Last weekend there were a lot of people (especially kids) walking around with BAD coughs who did not cover their mouths or even turn their heads when doing so. I think the people in the room next to mine may have had NLV or something similar. I never saw them except the woman <I>once</I> on her verandah next door, and there were <I>sounds</I> of illness in the night. What bothered me is that although I stayed well enough, from the moment I boarded, the upper part of my nose became stuffed up. No running or sneezing, just congestion. One night in my room it was so bad that I had to breathe through my mouth all night. Some others seemed to have the same problem. I was also very dehydrated during and after the cruise. Could this have something to do with their increased use of bleach for cleaning?

Looking through this thread I saw the posts about cornbread and grits. What I dearly miss when in Idaho are cornbread, grits, and sweet tea. Yes, <I>Cracker Barrel</I> is the only place to get the latter two. My DH thinks it is ridiculous for me to use sugar substitute or no sugar at home, then have sweet tea whenever possible. He just doesn't understand. Hey - I lost 7 pounds on my recent cruise - ate a lot but <I>not once</I> did I take the elevator!

The get-together at the Radisson sounds great . . almost makes me want to stay there the night before, but it doesn't make sense when it is only an hour or so drive to port for me from Daytona.

I hope all of you (and your pets!) are doing well. Okay - That's my LONG post this time around!

Welcome back Shari, you have been missed.

Mary you have the room that we had booked for the cruisetoberfest I. Mike

The DISers seem like they are going to take over the Magic on this sailing. I've added hubby and I to the list. We have been married for 17 years and our friends that we'll be travelling with us have been for 18 years and we are both childless, not that we don't love children. We love kids and we are big kids ourselves! We are in our early to mid 40s. We both love Disney. m Our friend are first time cruisers.

We're going to fly in the day of the cruise, so no Radisson or Hyatt stay is necessary for us. We are planning a Tulum excursion in Cozumel with dinner at Pancho's Backyard (mexican). Atlantis submarine in Grand Cayman with lunch at Casanova's (italian). Conch Cruisers in Key West with lunch at Meson de Pepe (cuban). We'd like to do High Tea at Palo's and also a dinner.

Well, that's about it.

:bounce: :Pinkbounc Welcome, Welcome, Missy & Tammy - Tina & Bill - Denna & David. I'm sure you will enjoy being part of this group ... as some of us "vets" can attest to! If nothing else, we are a "show" all by ourselves. I'm sure, Dan, Mike, Rosemary, Eric, Dave, Ave, Mary, Nancy ... etc can remember the times when the Disney Crew was laughing at us ... OOPS I mean with us!

Shari ... Welcome back, missed you. BTW, after a week on the cruise, I usually look like the chipmonk on the left in the back of the golf cart in your post!

Dan ... Still working with DSIL and how her Carnival group works the Raddison.

OK ... What's with the sweet tea? Is it just really iced tea with a whole lot of sugar in it? Right now I'm hooked on 4 C, Green Tea with Honey ... if you add an extra scoop with each half gallon you make, it's realllllllly sweet.

.... Back to work (gotta pay for this cruise somehow!)

Mike,
thans for the Radisson link, but we will be at WDW the night before the cruise and have dinner in
a yet to be chosen restaurant to celebrate my transfer into senior citizenship  We will probably stay in the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista. Staying on-site would be a waste of money this time as we will share our nine days at Orlando between WDW, USF, IoA and SeaWorld. We will turn in our rental car at 09:30am at the Hertz-Station near the airport and have a limo pick us up there to be at the Port around 1100am.
And thanks a lot for teh discovery of that post-statistics-feature.

Welcome back, Shari!
We surely missed you!!!

Welcome aboard,
Tammy & Missy and Tina and Bill (Hopkins) & Denna and David :bounce:
Please provide me with the info as listed in my signature (See below). I intend to do an update on Sunday morning (My time), so you'll have Sunday in the middle of the night (Your time).

And finally Folks,
Please give Mary, our Official Assistent Listkeeper, a big hand for a major improvement of the list: She added the info about "veteranship". Now everybody can see who belongs to the first Cruisetoberfest and/or CruisEars.

Just checking in. We are excited here! We leave for Disneyworld on Sunday. Staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We have never stayed there before. the boys are expecially excited. I have heard the weather is warming up??? HOpe that is true. It must be 60 here today. Very warm. Our local ski place has slush. Isn't stopping my daughter though. She is determined to get some use out of her season pass!

Welcome to Missy and (sorry, a senior moment) I forgot the second name!

We will e staying at the Radisson the night before also. Hopefully we can get an early flight in.

We have found a new house to build. Thank Goodness it is smaller. Less to clean. ONly 2 1/2 bathrooms instead of 4. :bounce:

When we get back my motto will be "Let the decluttering Begin!"
There is no way we can take all our "stuff" from here to a house that will be half this size. :o

Somehow it doesn't bother me. Ithink I have reached a point where it has become just that "stuff". Of course anything that is disney is special and has to come too.:D

Well, "speak" to you all in a week or so.

Elaine

Elaine ... have a safe journey and ENJOY your trip.

Just spoke with DSIL (Hi Marilou ... I know you read these) and I'll try and see if I can get us more details, etc about the Raddison.

? Everybody ... how do you feel about food (munchies) at the Raddison if we get a room for a meet? Kind of a survey to see if it's worth getting into or not.

Also wondering if it's worth the aggrivation to see how hard it would be to get a room/place for a meet on ship. Someplace where we could get together by ourselves and really chat and get pictures, etc.

Gotta run ... check back later.

Have a VERY MICKEY weekend :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Shouldn't be a problem: If our group grows as fast as last time, we will be a major force on the ship with the power to take over every room we want- Including the Musical Theatre :jester:
And with so many veterans in our group the return-cruisers-reception should also be kind of a private party for us :p

Elaine,
enjoy WDW, although the ice at Blizzard Beach may be real this time :jester:
But I think 40ºF at WDW are better than 80ºF at work ;)

WELCOME MISSY AND TAMMY!!! Cruising with Dan and Scott?... Can we talk?? :teeth: ;)

Welcome also extended to the Hopkins and their friends.

Oh! And welcome back Taswira.

That's all the time I can afford here for now..... :(

Elaine-- I sent you a pm about the scrapebook place at Disney. Tell Mickey and Minnie I said hi. Hope it is warm for you and have a great time. Good luck on the Decluttering when you get back.

Welcome to Tina and Bill, Denna and David, Missy and Tammy.

We are a fun group. In your spare time you can catch up on the other 94 pages.

I wondered what the sweet tea is also. Is it different than sweetened tea?

Taswira-- So are you still in Fl or back home? Were you able to go to Castaway Cay? I know some of the cruises haven't been able to go there lately.

Mike-- I never knew about that feature on the number of postings. Looks like Eric wins the gold medal for the most postings. You had better watch out as tulirose and taswira are catching up to you.

Time to go home from work. Have a great weekend everyone.

Nancy
