Hi Dan and Scott,

Sounds like deck 7 is getting full. We were on deck 7, but after visiting Cathy and Art on deck two we decided to move down there and save some bucks. Our next door neighbors for the cruise are none other than Rosemary and Rich. Art and Cathy @C are just a couple of doors down the hall.

Cathy thank you so very much for the package. Katie loved the box the turtles came in. That is the way with babies, buy them nice toys and all the grab is the box:teeth: Hope that your computer comes today. It would have been nice to have a little snow for christmas, but I guess that we will just have to struggle along with these 60 degree temperatures. ;)

Kathy @K is sleeping now. She is about to wind up a run of 5, 12 hour shifts in a row tomorrow night. Well guess that I had better get in the kitchen and get the breakfast dishes done up and chase some dust bunnies around. Mike

Hi Dan,
that sounds great!! Could you please find someone for 7622? :p
Just kidding, 7622 is not available, it was already booked when we made our reservation in January 02. We wanted to have it as it was our stateroom during Cruisetoberfest I, but someone was faster.
Looking forward to D & C's info!!

Last night they started the enlistment for the Frankfurt City Halfmarathon and I was #38 to register, but my running number will be 1509 (Look out for me in the worldwide broadcast:jester: ) as I don't own a ChampionChip and have to obtain one at the registration office before the start. The ChampionChip is a little gadget which is fixed to your shoelaces and ensures the timekeeping and protects against cheating. On the track you run through sensor fields where your time is taken and recorded.
My BIL also registered yesterday and has #91, but he will do it in approximately 1:17 as he's a real marathon-runner who does the 26 miles in 2:45, but he weighs more than 30 kilos (~65 pounds) less than me.

OK DAN, you got me. I really was trying to forget about the Buckeyes beating us BUT I am glad for the Browns! BTW, have you measured the pooch yet? I sent you a PM a few days ago.

Tonite I uncrate the new puter ... wish me luck! You guys will know when I get it up and running.

See Ya!

Cathy with @ C

Hello sister Sarah and brother Eli. (Inside joke) Good luck with the puter Cathy@C Mike with an M

Geez, ya try to post and then you lose it all. I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!!

Trying again.

Hello and Merry Christmas to all. It is STILL the Christmas season so I STILL say Merry Christmas and I STILL have my tree up and my lights on outside. WHERE IS THE HOLIDAY MUSIC???

Tulirose with a capital T here posting. It has been a while since I've done that but I will make up for lost time. I did try to post the other day a picture of my beautiful tree with a beautiful Mickey Christmas ornament on it but the picture would not go through so alas and alack, I failed in my attempt.

Cathy - Thank you so very very much for those two wonderful gifts, one of them being that Beautiful Mickey ornament. Earlier this month I was disappointed that I again failed to join the Ornament Exchange they have had for three years over on the Community Board and yet I got one anyway in addition to the two you sent last year. (Actually, I tell Richard that the ornament is really his because I love the hidden Mickey holly pin. I've worn it on my clothes to work and now have it on my coat). Thank you again so very very much. You are one talented and generous lady.

Our holiday was wonderful. We did have to travel a bit in the white stuff that came down pretty heavy but, as always, Tulirich got us there and back safe and sound!

DAN, DAN! I love ya, man!!! You keep inviting all these people onto our cruise and we will NEVER get any time together! Okay, what's the saying - The MORE the MERRIER!! Looking forward to meeting your friends.

Dave and Ellen - So happy to see you two posting. I bet it is great having your daughter home from college. How did you guys like NY's Thanksgiving Day parade? Rich is enjoying the return of many of his buddies who had gone away to school. Unfortunately.... however.... oh gosh.....Christmas Eve Day morning..... one was killed on the parkway by us.... evidentally fell asleep at the wheel... lost control and hit the guardrail..... and then was plowed into by a drunk driver..... so very very sad..... what a loss.... a nice kid.... worked two jobs and was going to college locally.....So sorry, didn't mean to get into this here and now.....geez, now I'm bummed again......

Aw, come on. the ONLY team is the STEELERS!!!!!

Here we go Steelers, here we go!!!!!!!

Welcome new cruisers!

I have been playing with my new "toy" a digital camera! I hope to have learned how to take a picture by the time we sail!;)

Ave...yes to horseback riding, yes to bring the girls, and a BIG YES to the oysters!!!

Cathy...how goes the new puter????

Rosemary...so sorry to hear of Richies friend. So sad:(

Dave and Ellen..looking forward to seeing you both again!

Okay - back again and feeling better.

I forgot that I wanted to say to Cathy that don't worry about putting that computer together, I bet you it will be color coded!

Mike's right. They are right next door to us and Cathy and Art are down the hall so all you guys on the seventh deck (Dan/Scott and company, Taswira, Viking and the rest) , don't think you are the only ones with neighbors. However, we would never refuse to join your party and use your verandas, if you don't mind. LOL

Let's see... who else.... HI WINDERMERE. How are things in Florida! We don't keep up with football in this household so I can't agree or disagree with you.

Hi Eric and Anja. Glad you guys had a great and safe trip over the Christmas holidays visiting with relatives. [Quote - Doing a walking halfmarathon is a good start, but perhaps you can join Anja and me for some laps around the ship in October before we drag Rosemary into the gym to do some aerobics. - Unquote] Eric, even if Dan won't join you on the laps around the ship, you just may get me into that gym after all. One of the Christmas presents I opened this year was a Gift Certificate to Jazzercise. I used to go years ago (when Richie was a baby) and I've been talking about rejoining for a while now so Rich went ahead and did this for me so I would stop my procrastinating. So by October of 2003, I should be able to keep up with you guys instead of huffing and puffing like I did in September of 2001!

I will be back...

Rosemary my white russian friend why did you turn off survivor?

Katie has been getting over a cold and has been a little bit of a pill lately. She is spending the night with me as Kathy is at work and her mom(Stacey) and her dad are celebrating their 6th anniversary tonight;)

Hope that your paw is doing better Cathy @C. We had to start doing that when we were all at wdw after the cruise this year so that the girls would know who we were talking to. Wore me and Art out so much saying their names that we had to put the letter tag at the end.

Glad that someone is exercising. Doctor gave me some steroid pills for back and hip pain and all they are doing is swelling me up. Well I guess that the pan of brownies didn't help:teeth: Mike

Yakkity Yak - I'm trying to catch up on the old postings and respond to different postings but Richie's girlfriend came in and is yakking up a storm. She is in the other room eating cuz she just got off from work and Richie and his friend are in the garage working on the cars and she is just yakking and yakking and hubby and I are trying to be polite and she really is quite funny but she is so distracting.

okay, I think ten minutes have gone by since I started writing this. She's still talking. She is so funny! She wants to know if our dog likes pickles. She says she feels like she is in her own home: she came in, used the phone, used the bathroom and now she's eating. She says she still has to change but she is STARVING and is going to eat first. And every time she pauses, Rich and I turn our attentions back to our computers and then she starts talking again. She is two rooms away but we are in line of sight and this is just too funny.

She told us about how they got all this free stuff at McDonalds because they were polite and talked to the kid about how Richie and his friend used to work there. She talked about how they returned because, even though they got extra stuff, the cheeseburgers that they did order were not in the bag and then they got more free food. She talked about how she said they should go around again and get even more stuff. She is talking about all our different animals. She is talking about her parents and the hard time they give her. She is talking about how Richie forgot to put his ice cream in the freezer so she is going to do it for him. She is talking about their plans for tomorrow night - New Year's Eve.

Oh, I think she has been quiet now for about and entire minute and a half. oops, no she started up again.

Tuli,
I wish I was in Florida right now. Actually in Pa but I can't wait for our next Fl trip. We were actually doing some planning tonight. Looking at March/April time frame.

Dave,
Isn't your DD at UofD? If she ever needs anything while here let us know since we're so close. DH office is in Newark.

Okay - Richie came in from the garage and she is now talking with him. His friend just came back with his GF and now the two girls can yakkity yak with each other because the guys want to (get this) play chess. Son's DG bought him the Simpson Chess Game for Christmas. These kids are too funny.

Okay, where was I? Now that I am no longer distracted.

Hiya Mike. *smiling sheepishly* Your white russian friend is doing just fine! Hope Katie is feeling better soon and don't talk to me about Survivor. I got turned off when they backstabbed Ted. Not that he was a favorite of mine (I had none with this show) but I decided this show teaches that one must be devious and deceitful to get anything in life and that nice guys finish last - not a message I like. But, guess who will be watching Survivor: Amazon? That's right, yours truly. And greetings to Kathy from us, don't want her to feel left out.

padisney - Hope you have gotten over the shock of remembering how much it costs to feed two growing boys and are now also enjoying their visit back home from college. If we plan on traveling through York sometime before October, we will be sure to let you know.

Mike - Did you get those cat juggling pictures yet? Still waiting....

Quote by Scootersmom - I feel so behind again! :-) - Unquote. Don't feel bad, Colleen, that's the story of my life! LOL But, you make a great effort to catch up when you do return. Hope your BIL is recovering nicely from his bypass surgery.

TwinAve and Alikat - Do you guys think you will get Scuba Certified by October? I agree with Ave, I like snorkling!

Update on the kids here: The boys are playing Simpson chess and the girls are playing Simpson Clue! And they are all yakking up a storm.

Still more catching up to do with the postings here... I will be back...

Oops! Florida would be nice to be at right now as compared with PA. Not that anything is wrong in PA. Hey! I got a friend (or two) in Pennsylvania! LOL! So are you like Taswira and live part time in two places are do you just visit Florida for a bit and the main time is spent in PA? I believe Taswira spends almost equal time between Florida and Idaho. Am I right, Tas? Hey, Pennslvania is not so bad when you think of what it must be like right now in Idaho!

Hey Cathy! Is that computer hooked up yet? Hope you have recovered completely from your surgery or is it still too early for that? Is work still shortstaffed and is your boss still out? The holidays are crazy as it is. It is no fun when things get bad at work too. Hoping your boss is on the road to recovery as well. You take care of yourself and don't work too hard. Nothing is more important that one's health.

Greetings to our Canadian friend - cdnmickeylover! Is it cold up there?

Glad Alikat had a nice anniversary and enjoyed the Lion King.

[Quote from Dan - Speaking of New York, I had a great visit with Tulirose/Rich! It was absolutley wonderful to see both of them and just have a relaxing conversation. And to all the naysayers out there, YES Rosemary can cook (Sorry RellingTwin) I had a great visit to NY and seeing these 2 really put the cherry on top! - Unquote]
[Quote from RellingTwin - Dan, I have no idea what you are refering to re: Rosemarys cooking! We had a very nice dinner of Grilled Chicken when I was there! - Unquote]

Thank you kindly Mr. Dan. We enjoyed very much our time spent with you as well. And Mary - that reference to my cooking really came from me, not you. I told Dan that the chicken I made you and your son did not come out good. It really didn't. The sauce was not right for some reason and I don't think George really cared for it but that's okay because I think he enjoyed the pool and kitty very much. BTW - Did I ever send you the pictures from when you were here?

Good luck in that Marathon, Dan. You can DO it!

Mary - Exciting news with your house remodeling. You have a great professional doing the work too! Would you believe that they finally took care of unfinished stuff in my new bathroom this week!? They only started the week of Veteran's Day! Now, Tulirich and I are *discussing* whether to paint or wallpaper. I want wallpaper and he wants paint.

GOSH! - What is all that noise going on from the dining room? The boys finished the Simpson Chess game and now they are all going to play Simpson Clue. You should hear the conversations going on. Those kids are just too funny....

Tulirose - this year my time has been more like 60% ID, 40% FL. Next year (coming up soon!) should be more like 50/50. I'll only be there 2 weeks next month, but will likely be in FL for 6 weeks beginning in April and have a few more trips like that. In fact, I might even drive back there in September and stay through the winter. A lot depends on how the next hurricane season shapes up. Here in ID it has been a mix of rain and snow for several days, and very cold. My DH and I both have colds (I caught his!). I'd rather be in Florida! :smooth:

I, too, was under the impression that Windermere was a full-time FL resident. It's so hard to catch everything in these threads! :p

I know. I'm on one of my own posting marathons.

I can't sign off completely for the night without acknowleging Bettemom and eshannon since they had posted also awhile back and I didn't write anything to you guys specifically. Thank you both for the holiday greetings and the same back at ya. And congratulations eshannon for being accepted into the radiology program. I trust you will do great.

Kathy, sorry you lost at Mega Bucks drawing in W. Virginia. Maybe next time, and if you win, remember us!

Ave and Mary - You guys have a great trip to HH. I envy you!

Oh boy - scootersmom and family are now in WDW!!! Talk about envy! I'm sure they are having a fantastic time.

Okay, I think I am basically all caught up now with all the postings since I last posted earlier this month. Except one more thing - Eric, So I guess you guys are not going to be traveling the east coast as you thought you might originally do. Guess you guys are hooked on that Florida sun!

Okay, I now officially return this thread back to you all. I have finished my solo posting marathon. Now, when will those kids be finished in my dining room????

Taswira! I think we would ALL rather be in Florida! LOL! You are right. It is so hard to keep who is who and things about them straight in the thread. There are so many of us and, of course, not everyone posts but I really, really try to respond to everyone that does post. By literally going through all the posts to look for something specific to write about when I finally do write something, it helps me remember things about people but I still find it difficult. Difficult, but fun too in a weird sorta way. But, I'm a little weird anyway. RIGHT, DAN?!!

Edited to Add: Shari, Hope you and hubby feel better real soon. What was that you were saying about catching everything in a thread? LOL! I read it real fast the first time and that is why I HAVE to read it again because I miss so much! Have a good night.

Talk with all you guys again soon. I hope you didn't mind me hogging the thread so much.

Rosemary,
that Eastcoast-tour would have been just too much stress as I would have been the only driver with Anja still being reluctant to obtain a license. And additionally all the car rental agencies want between $500 and 1000 for a oneway rental from the New England States to the Sunshine State. This alone pays for the complete diving lessons plus our passes for Universal Escape, Sea World and Busch Gardens. Our budget for the vacation is already scraping at the 5-digit-line :( and I'm sure that after some shopping it will cross it :p Fortunately the the Dollar/Euro conversion rate is very favourable for the time being.

BTW, as long as kids of that age can be heared everything is OK - You only have to careful when they become silent ;)

:bounce: :bounce: HAPPY 2003! :bounce: :bounce:

Here's hoping we all have a very Healthy, Wealthy & Happy 2003!

Enjoy your family and friends and stay safe!

Cathy with @C and Art (Jeb to Mike & Kathy!)
