another quick post: Cathy with a "C" we only go check our mail every couple of days. We have an old fashioned mercantile and we all have post office boxes. none delivered to our houses, anyway.....received the neat package. Love it. You are a talented thing! Also love the paw punch. Will steal that idea for next year!! Thanks Elaine

CATHY : GOT IT, LOVE IT, WANT MORE OF IT!!!!! :D  :p :smooth: Love ya! Ave'

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Woke up this morning and it was snowing here. It was perfect as yesterday it was cold but absolutely no snow. Now the trees are covered and it looks like Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Fiona

Hope everyone had as wonderful Christmas day as we had. I worked Christmas Eve and Mike woke me up in time to see everyone when they arrived at 2 p.m. Then we had some arrive that we didn't expect and had to scurry around and find/wrap gifts for. I know that I should have had some "extras" under the tree but I didn't.

Dinner was so good. Mike can wrangle the dinner on his own and did a fine job of it.

No snow here but it is sure cold enough. There were flurries reported in outlaying counties but not in Nashville.

Ave, do I detect a hint of Country Music in your soul? You go girl! Tim McGraw is on of my favorite C/M singers and if Faith hadn't gotten to him first and if Mike hadn't gotten to me 25 years earlier, he would be MINE!

I hope the someone who got the Mega Bucks in W. Virginia is happy. I had several things I wanted to do with that money and some of it included cruises for my dis friends and my family. I thought about buying out the boat for one cruise. :p Is this 'visions of granduer'? (Sp) :p

Elaine, did William get his pins?

Happy New Year! Kathy, with a K

PS Cathy with a C, hope your new puter gets here today!

Just saw that we are under the 290 days. Why, it just seemed like yesterday that it was a whole year to go. :teeth:

Good morning all. Hope that everyone is having a great day. We transferred our reservation from dcl to dreams in order to get the rebate and the additional shipboard credit. Every little bit helps, and that is more money for dust collectors and junk. When I checked our reservation that made 27 families that are booked through dreams on this cruise.

We just had the headlight replaced on the drivers side of scarlet about two weeks ago, and now the passengers side low beam burnt our last night. I have to take her in to the dealer tomorrow to get it fixed.:(

To those that got snow hope that it made your Christmas merry and white. Cathy with @C hope that you and Art are able to find your mailbox soon. We have our fingers crossed for your computer arriving today:bounce:

Looking forward to seeing you all soon. Mike

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. We have rain today and almost 50 degree weather! Supposed to finally snow over the weekend. my dd age 14 is bugging the life out of me to take her snowboarding. Since I don't do it, I have to go sit in the lodge. the ski resort is only about 25 minutes from us so that is good.
Our Christmas was great. We went and saw Pinnochio on Christmas night which was not so great! It has to be the worst movie I ever saw. It was the one with Roberto Bellini. Unfortunately it was in Italian with english voice overs. When you literally translate from one language into another, it definitely loses something. Anyway, I got up half way through and went to the "bathroom" didn't go back!. Poor husband stayed with the kdis. They didn't really like it either though.
Our youngest son broke out in chicken pox today. yesterday he slept all day and evening on the couch with a low fever. I knew somehting was going on, but was shocked today when he broke out. All the older kids have had them, thank goodness. :D

Nancy, Kathey and the other nurses: I had mentioned before about going back and getting a new career and you were all so encouraging. I applied for and was accepted into the radiology program here. I start in January. It is actually a three year course, but since I already have a degree, I can get it done in two years. A friend of mine just graduated from the same program. She said there were a couple of other peoplle "our" age in the program with her and it was really not bad at all. So...wish me luck. Math is not my strong point so will start out with that and the chemistry. Not sure how this will all work out with the cruise. We may have to go a different time. I hope not though.
Kathy, yes William did get his pins. I thought he sent you a pm. Sorry. He loved them. :bounce:
Well, will go and administer some Benadryl and TLC to the "sickie" He just said he wants to cuddle on the couch with me. Haven't had an offer like that in awhile:p I will be sad when the "baby" gets past this age when he still likes to cuddle. although, William is still a pretty good hugger. :Pinkbounc Hope you all have a great week. Elaine

Hi Folks,

the Germans are back :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
After a wonderful Xmas, a White Xmas to be precise, we traveled back one day early due to adverse weather. Xmas Eve was like a miracle: At 1pm it started to snow and didn't stop til 8pm. The snow stayed for all the Xmas-days (In Germany we also celebrate on the 25th and 26th) and started to melt on Friday. In our hometown Frankfurt they had temps around 50ºF and rain, so we were quite lucky to be at the right place at the right time.
Now after our return it's the opposite: Rain and overcast skies in the North and fair blue skies in Frankfurt - Now we're hoping to have such luck with the weather during our cruise.

OK,
time to check the Cruisetoberfest-Mailbox

Welcome home Eric and Anja. Hope that Anja's family was well. The days are starting to fly by now. We can't wait to cruise again. Mike

Hi Mike,

good to hear from you.
I didn't put any stickers with the title on the CD´s, just in case the Customs Services open them. I don't want to have a "Not Politically Correct"-Stamp in my passport ;)
BTW, we averaged a speed of 120 km/h (75mph) on the way north and 131 km/h (82mph) on the way back and never exceeded 180 km/h (112mph) at an average of 28.5 mpg.
Next week gas in Germany will become another 14 cents more expensive per gallon: We'll have to pay $4.25 per gallon of which slightly more than 80% are taxes
And when GWB starts kicking Saddam's butt it will rise even more, but that's the price we have to pay to get the world back in order.

Welcome home Eric and Anja! Glad you had a nice Christmas.

Elaine!!! Good for you!!! The is a big nation-wide need for that field.Nuclear medicine, sonogram techs, mammo techs are always in big demand. This field is also expanding into animal care as well! If you do not belive me just watch "Emergency Vets" on Animal Planet!;)
I hope your little one is feeling better soon.

Cathy...I hope you get your new puter soon.

Ave...counting the days until we see you at Hilton Head. 47 days! The kids are excited. I love having a trip planned for after Christmas. It makes the post-holiday blues much easier!

I have started to take down the Christmas stuff, and get the toys gifts put away.

I am going to get my Christmas gift from DH this weekend...A Digital Camera!!! YIPEE!!!

Hi, all!
It sounds like everyone had a great holiday! We had lots of fun here with all the kids.

Cathy-- Hope you get the new computer soon!

Elaine-- Congrats on being accepted into the radiology program! Hope your little guy is well soon. Chicken pox are not fun. I'm with you on the snuggles. We're lucky that our youngest doesn't find us an embarrassment yet and still freely offers hugs, kisses and I love you's. And since the older ones are past those teen years, we have the best of both worlds! :)

Mary--I envy you your Hilton Head trip. It's one of my favorite places. The last time we were there was July and I miss it so much. We have all our HH pictures as our screensaver, so that helps a little bit. Enjoy your new camera!

Eric & Anja--Welcome back! Glad you had a great trip and a white Christmas. We had snow here too, which was nice, but now it can go away! ;)

Actually, we're leaving the snow behind! On a plane at 7:45 tomorrow a.m. for WDW and OKW! Laundry's done, suitcases are out, and I'm trying to get the house in order for our critter-sitter (Mother-in-law). She's a sweetie for doing this for us. I think she enjoys it since her dog passed away and I know our animals love it because she spoils them.

Well, I'm off to get the packing done, etc. We'll be back Friday night. My parents will be joining us for two days of our trip and my brother and his wife will be having New Years Day dinner with us, followed by dh's brother and his family for dinner the following night. Can't wait!!

Take care! Happy New Year!!

Colleen

Good Morning DIS!!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of like Robin Williams hollering good morning vietnam:teeth:

Another day closer to our cruise. I need to take down the tree today and get the living room in some kind of shape. Also had to run to the office supply store yesterday and get a new laser toner for my printer. This is the third one that I have had to get although I can't complain as I get about 3,000 pages out of each one. HP includes a prepaid return label in the box so I just place the old one in the box, slap on the label and it is returned to hp and recycled.

Hope that everyone has a great day and we are all looking forward to Cathy getting her new computer and rejoining us on-line again:bounce: Mike

Hi Mike,

that's one of my favourite movies!! And Robbie Williams is one of my favourite actors, I got Roxanne, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting and some more DVDs/tapes.

During our Xmas-vacation we finalized our vacation planning for 2003: In March/April we will do a week of sightseeing in our new/old capital Berlin. Anja's never been there and I've been there the last time shortly after The Wall fell. In June we will travel to the Baltic Sea for a week to get a tan and finally we'll do three weeks in Florida plus Cruisetoberfest II. We'll spend probably six days at Crystal River to do our PADI Open Water, then 7 days at Cocoa Beach, and 8 days at Kissimmee to do WDW, USF, IoA and SeaWorld before we meet you all on the ship.

Dan,
I also plan on doing a halfmarathon. It's the 1st Frankfurt City Halfmarathon, which replaces the Frankfurt Forest Halfmarathon after 9 successful years. But I intend to do in less than 2 hours - 1:47 to be exact, which is 5 minutes per kilometer or 8 minutes per mile. I'll start a specific halfmarathon training programme next weekend pushing my average running performance to well above 35 miles per week. I'd never thought it, but running can become addictive. For the time being I do it indoors due to adverse weather. We got a Cardio Theater in our gym, where you can plug your headphone into a small distributor unit and hook up to on of 12 TV-sets mounted on a wall facing about 70 treadmills. I usually do one episode of "Home Improvement" and then some MTV or the news at 7 to 8 miles per hour. It's very relaxing this way and there aren't any dogs to chase you ;)
Doing a walking halfmarathon is a good start, but perhaps you can join Anja and me for some laps around the ship in October before we drag Rosemary into the gym to do some aerobics :jester:

Hello Everyone! Hope you all (ya'll) had a great holiday!
Rellingtwin, Can't wait till HH. Should we do the horseback riding thing again? Maybe bring the girls? should I bring oysters again?
Elaine: Congrats on your career choice. You go girl!!!:)

Later, Ave'

Mike,
Taking down the tree already? What happened to the 12 days of Christmas? I always have to fight to keep ours up til little christmas. Jan 6th - another excuse to gets more gifts even if it's just candy in your shoes.

Back at work after a few days off ... still waiting for the UPS guy with my new puter. This is as bad as waiting for our cruise documents. Only thing is that the documents mean a great time with my DIS friends and the puter means "some assembly required"....wire here, wire there, etc.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas .... we got whompped with snow. MY SIL couldn't make it so it was just the three of us, Art, me & AshLee. Nice, but quiet.

Looking forward to New Years and the PSU Bowl game. (And of course the munchies)

Mike ... I see that your Titans are in the playoffs with my Eagles...............Cool!

Well gotta fiind my desk thru the piles of work!

Cathy with @ C

Cathy,

Lets please not forget that the OHIO STATE BUCKEYES are playing for the national championship on January 3rd and that the CLEVELAND BROWNS also made the playoffs this year!

Eric,
Running around the ship with you sounds so much fun, but I think I will have to pass. The only reason I am doing the half marathon is to get the Donald Duck medal! LOL

Dan

Hey guys! I have found another 2 friends to join us on the cruise. They are in the process of doing the deposit and then they will be transferring this over to DREAMS. They are also in the room by us, so the DIS hall keeps growing! Mom in #7620, Scott and I in #7621, Chuck and Dean (newbies) in #7623, Eric and Anja in #7624, Missy (my Sister) and Tammy in #7625 and Taswira in #7628! Looks like the party is on Deck 7 aft.

Eric,
Will send you info about them and such when they actually pay the deposit.

Dan
