Thought I'd share my crazy dream with everyone!

Since the Magic is done with dry dock (not sure why I would think this!) they just parked her at our next door neighbors! I could just look out our side windows and see her in all her glory just waiting for us! Oh of course we just jumped on board and came to FL with her!

Now I should get to work!

Dan

"strange as it seems there's been a run of crazy dreams!"
I hope this is a GOOD thing!

I had a VERY similar dream early on this summer, when we first decided that maybe we should take the Disney cruise-- I was in my old apartment in Brooklyn, where I lived as a child, and Jen and I were looking out the window and I was pointing out the cruise ships as they paraded by. "Look, there's the Magic!", I said, as Disney's ship sailed by. We both thought it was much smaller than it seemed it should be. Suddenly someone else anounced, we'll here's the NEWEST Disney Cruise ship--- The "DESTINY"!
I thought that dream was really weird because I was seeing this, not only from the apartment window, but from my childhood apartment window, with my girlfriend standing with me (though I last live there over 15 years ago!). And that they'd have a new ship called, "The Destiny?"
Well, the day after I had that dream, Jen & I were driving past NY Harbor - and guess what we noticed for the first time ever-- CRUISE SHIPS. I don't know how long they've been leaving from NY, but we both swear we'd never seen them before this summer! It was BECAUSE she'd actually seen what one looked like in person that day that we actually decided to go ahead and book the cruise!

OMG. Only a few more days left. This is getting nerve wracking. LOL:earseek:

Just found the actual size of carry on you can have....... 9 x 14 x 22" . That is NOT good! Mine is 13 x 13 x 24". Should I worry or change my bag? I bought it for this trip. It is my big red Mickey duffle bag!

Why do they have a size limit? Does it have to be put through a scanner?

Need help quickly. I will have to re-pack my Thursday and Friday day bag.

Hope :(

Just what I need, something else to stress about!
I measured our biggest carry on and it will be a bit bigger than that. However, inside it is our camera bag, a diaper bag converted to a toiletry bag, and a few other smalll things. I guess if they were real picky about it I could take out one of the bags and make my duffle bag look smaller, making my one big bag into two smaller bags, make sense?

AVE............sent you a PM!!

Hope:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Can I go yet?? Is it time yet?? Am I there yet???? :hyper:

Help me, I think I am going nuts :earseek:

:Pinkbounc IT :bounce: IS :Pinkbounc ALMOST :bounce: TIME!

Hello Everyone,

Hope, I think you need to take a deep breath and hold it for 1 minute!

Just curious.....how is the water pressure in the showers?

Oh my, this is addicting, haven't even went on our first cruise yet and just gave the go ahead to our friends to book us along with them next year.

Have a safe trip to all,

Denise

One workday down....2 more to go!!!

I am just NOT going to stress over the carry one thing! Each one of the 4 of us will have a carry on, PLUS I will have the luggage card with the beverages on it. Last year they lifted the drinks (luggae cart and all) onto the belt to go through the scanner. If they make us take the beverages off the cart, then we will each have a 12 pack of beer or soda to carry in addition to our carry on.I think this is a way to prevent people from carrying on large bags, which would have to be searched, thereby slowing down the line to get into the terminal.

I've been on cloud 9 all day, even though work was horrid, my main doc is back from amternity leave. I keep thinking, Friday night MNSSHP and then Saturday HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Magic!!!

Hi Everyone, I am NOT stressing! My car is ready, and I will finish packing on Thursday. If I forget it, we'll buy it, borrow it, or do without it.

Funny story: I dusted off the iron and was ironing some pants, shirts, ect. In case you may have missed it, I do not use my iron much. DS comes into the kitchen, looks at the iron and say, "Mom, what's that?" I tell him it's an iron, he says "Oh, what do you do with it?" I say iron clothes. He then watched in fasination while I ironed 2 pair of shorts. Is this sad or what? The kid is 6 years old and he can't remember ever seeing me iron anything!

Just 3 more work days!!:smooth:

Very soon, Ave'

Did anyone get the new Disney catalog in the mail? They've decided to get some great new stuff in. I particullary love the Mickey retro kitchen table. It would look awesome in my 50's retro kitchen, but not for $500.

:teeth: If anything of mine has to be ironed, I'm sending it out to be ironed on the ship. I hate to iron. I don't iron if I can help it!! I would be slightly wrinkled than iron!!

Has anyone ever had a problem with not getting your bags delivered to your stateroom in time for dinner? I don't want to pack extra clothes in the bag if I don't have too!

We have late dinner seating but I want to change that as soon as we get on the ship. I don't know why I want to change. I have heard good and bad things about both. I just think with my two dd's I'd have better luck with dinner at the earlier one.
That means, I will be going to the spa for ressies, dad will going to Palo, & DH will be going to sessions to change our dinning time!

I am bringing some cards along with me. Just in case kids get restless waiting in line.

Okay, I am rambling. I guess I am just :hyper: excited!!
Two more working day!!

Hope

Denise...water pressure in the showers is fine!

Ave..shame on you:teeth:

Hope, my kids were asking about bringing something to pass the time while on line. They asked about a "Bop It" but I vetoed that idea, first because who wants to listen to that thing for 90 min??Second because "you know who" would wind up carrying it! A deck of cards is what we decided on also. I personally think they will be WAY too excited to sit down for more then 30 seconds!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

TonyG...I wish I could sleep long enough to dream!!! I'm like Tammy, waking up 3 and 4 times a night!

OK, another funny story. My youngest, now thirteen, at about 10, was calling a friend and said to me "mom, what does it mean when the phone rings and rings and rings?" I said with a laugh "It means they don't have voicemail hun". "huh?" he said..

He'd never called anyone before that didn't have voice mail or an answering machine. A true child of the technology age.

Gosh, I was wondering where everyone was this evening. Are you guys all packing??? Well, for me, I still have 4 more days of work, so that means I have 3 more nights to do my packing. Isn't it amazing how you have a plan to get something done early, but life just doesn't let you. Well, that's what is happening to me this week. Emily has been a 2yr old "monster" and she's not letting me get anything done. I'm trying desperately to keep the house orderly, so that I don't have any major cleaning to do before we leave, but it's just not happening. Oh well, I guess I'm going to head to bed a little early tonight and hope that tomorrow offers me more opportunities to get things done!!!

Tammy,

Get some rest!! You don't want to sleep the cruise away!!

Can't believe it, it going to be as warm here in Minnesota as it in Florida this week when we are away!! I am sure an Artic cold mass will be here to welcome us back!!

Well to all the new comers to the board. See you all soon!!
:boat: :wave2:

I was planning on having everything all packed by tonight, since I had today off- but of course it was one thing after another today. Had to take dad to the DMV, went and picked up some new sneakers, but then lost the socks I bought to go along with them (don't know how!). Got home too late to work on a video project I was doing to try to get to my family in Florida, when all of a sudden my camera developed a mechanical problem! Since home videos are a MUST for me and are one of my hobbies, I regretfully sat there for an hour trying to decide whether or not to replace the thing. So, as if this trip weren't costing enough - I had to scrounge around for info on a new camera and went shopping and bought it (because, really, if not for this trip, then when else??)

So, I'm really not going to like looking at my bills next month, but hey- as long as the trip is fun and I'm able to get a nice video out of it all.
Jen's already neatly packed most of her bag, which I have with me. It was the most amazing use of space I'd ever seen in my life. She was able to pack everything in one of her smaller suitcases.HOW did she do that? Not to sound un-pc about it, but I really think women have SUCH a way with these things. I can only hope my bag is packed that well.

Speaking of which -- I'm already over my bedtime... gotta run.

I just love looking at everyones countdown clock!:earseek: It is possible DH will be off on Thursday. If this happens, once the kids are off to school, he will be able to help me with the last min. stuff.::yes::

Goodnight to all. I am looking forward to getting the next 2 days of work over with, so I can start my vacation.

To those of you who will be on their way tomorrow, have a safe trip::yes::

I just saw the carry on size in the Magic Book last night that we got with our docs. Mine is about 4 inches too large, so hopefully they won't be that picky. I think it ws something like 13x9x20, because mine is 13x13x20. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's the number.

When you say carry on, you are talking about carry on like for an airplane or general use e.g. day bag, notebook case, scrapping book bag or etc, correct? The carry on talk just caused stressed in 3 directions, thinking it was for all suitcases!!

Thanks for your help

Matty

I go away for a few days and have to catch up reading 13 pages.

Got back late Sunday night from visiting DS#2 at his college and watching his college hockey games. Worked all day, went to kennel to pick up dogs (they won't be happy going back in 4 days), Norm and I went shopping at Kohl's (he decided he needed 2 new pants), then to Walmart ( all those last minute items on my list), did a load of laundry, made Norm pick out all his clothes for the trip, did some of my hockey stuff, painted my toenails (still need to get a manicure) and now sitting here at the computer.

Hopefully, tomorrow will get grass mowed, patio furniture put away, and get all the rest of the clothing picked out ready to be packed. That will just leave cleaning, more laundry, bills, recheck the list, run back to Walmart for things I forgot.

3 more working days for me. Norm is working a 1/2 day on Friday. So I'll finish up everything Friday morning and get the dogs to the kennel so we can leave by 2:30pm.

I read on another thread that DVC was giving discount points for those who rebook on board. Hope that is true as we want to book the 10/2/04 cruise. I guess you make a deposit as normal and then at your 11 month window switch over to points.

Welcome to all the new folks. Pixie dust and prayers to those who are ill. Nancy (Windmere) Sorry you aren't able to travel with us, but good luck on your new house.

Off to bed I go. I have no problem sleeping when I go to bed this late.

Nancy

Hi, all!

Final update of the cell phone list should be in the mailboxes of those who submitted numbers, barring any errors.

Matty-- Yes, I'm sure the measurements are for carry-on/day bags.

Busy week here, on top of getting ready to leave. Cub Scouts tonight, final fitting for Josh's tux tomorrow night plus we have Becca till about 10 p.m. tomorrow since SIL is out of town for work, then a school meeting Wednesday night.

I did get my haircut this morning, so that's one more thing crossed off the list! Don says it's shorter than usual, but still looks all right.

I have weight watchers meeting in the a.m. and then will miss next week. Trying not to stress about gaining any of my losses back on the cruise.
Have Becca here all day tomorrow and Jen coming over early to do laundry... they can't find the hoses to their washer after the move to the new house over the weekend. I'm sure they'll turn up somewhere soon. They haven't had time to unpack much yet.

Better get to bed.

Safe travels to anyone leaving tomorrow!
Colleen

I have so much to do and so little time!!!

We are leaving tomorrow night. I thought I had everything together today, but realized that I missed a LOT!!

I have to do so much tomorrow--YUCK!!
