Well guys, I'm off to Chicago at 7am tomorrow morning. I'm still trying to get everything together tonight. I may pop in to say hi while I'm at my brother's, but if not, everyone have a great rest of the week and weekend. And, when I get back, I'll be that much closer to the cruise. Eeeekk, and more packing!!!!

Have a wonderful trip Amy and Chris. I'm sure Emily will make the cutest little flowergirl!!

And how excited you must be, anticipating telling your REAL family your great news....although I don't know if they could be any more happier for the three of you than your "Cruise" family is! :D :D :D

Thanks so much, Ave and Rosemary. Yes, I'm still up. I'm hoping to go to bed very, very soon.

I really can't wait to tell the family. We bought Emily a t-shirt that says "I'm the Big Sister" and we're going to put it on her at the airport in Chicago. Chris is going to try to get pics too!!

Take care everyone!!!

What a great way to break the news! Have fun!

Ave - I heard today was Brucie's 50-something B-day! I can't remember 50-what but I remember being a little shocked at how "old" he was!!! Hahaha! (I really shouldn't laugh!)

Well we have now been without power and running water for almost 6 days! They are saying it could be another week or more before we get it back!!!

Tara's school has been closed and will remain closed through the rest of the week--that is 7 days without school--then she is going to be out for 8 more for our trip. Oh my this is AWFUL!!

I want water and power so badly I cannot stand it. They reported on the news today that Isabel is the WORST disaster to ever hit VA, and the most expensive ever. It is one of the 10 worst in the county as far as expense and devistation. I live in one of the hardest hit areas due to the trees and downed power lines. I'm going NUTS here!!

Just a note on the documents--it is definitely DCL and not Dreams holding up the documents. I know that everyone so looks forward to getting them, but it's really nothing more than a packet of papers to sign. We have ours, and I'm still waiting on Tara's but like I posted the other day--DCL has processed them and they are on their way.

This cruise is going to be a much needed break from the stress of things going on here.

I can't wait to see all of you (especially you Tammy and Barb!)

See you all real soon!
Sue Ellen

Sue Ellen - So sorry you have no power or water. It seems so unreal in this day and age! I really don't know what else to say. Anything I think of seems inadequate.....

Woman Critical After Ride On Hulk Roller Coaster

POSTED: 3:58 p.m. EDT September 23, 2003
UPDATED: 5:21 p.m. EDT September 23, 2003

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Hulk roller coaster at Universal Studios Islands of Adventure in Orlando has been shut down Tuesday afternoon after a woman was found unconscious and without a pulse at the ride's coaster station, according to Local 6 News.

Woman Found Without Pulse On Hulk Roller Coaster
Universal Orlando President Makes Comment

Officials said a 37-year-old woman was transported in critical condition to Sand Lake Hospital after she was found unconscious in her seat at about 2:35 p.m. Witnesses said she had no pulse when she was removed from the ride.

Univeral Orlando President Bob Gault said the the ride was inspected and it was determined that there was no ride malfunction. However, the attraction will remain closed until Wednesday.

Gault said that this type of incident has never happened before on the ride.

Local 6 News reported that the woman had no cardiac medical history but had been complaining of jaw pain for most of the day.

Riders are propelled out from zero to 40 mph in 2 seconds on the steel coaster --which is the same force as an F-16 fighter jet. The Hulk reaches heights of 110 feet and speeds of 60 mph, according to a Local 6 News report.

Another poster then stated that the women had a heart attack and is in serious condition and that the Hulk will reopen tomorrow a.m.

37 years old and she has a heart attack.....

:( :(

Still no power? Oh my gosh, Sue, I'm so sorry. Let me know if I can do anything; ship you anything, or whatever you need.

Yes, I'm anxious for my docs, but I know they'll come eventually. I have faith :-)

Another sleepless night. It's just about midnight here on the west coast. I have a glass of wine in front of me trying to get myself to pass out and it's just not doing any good. This coming weekend, I'm really going to start my serious packing. I need to make my salon appt (get my nails and toes done) sometime this week and my hair cut. Saw the doc today so I have plenty of my prescription meds for the trip. There's a salon on board, right? I might want them to do my hair for Formal Night. We'll see. I'm no good at that "up-do" sort of thing and I'd like to have it nice.

Found Tony a pair of decent sandles (that he can walk long distances in) and mine are on order. My undergarments came today for my nicer dresses and I'm very pleased at the results. Got my jewelry for the dresses the other day and I can't wait! I rarely get the chance to dress up. It's going to be like being a kids again :)

I've decided I want to do the Tulim Ruins in Cozumel. Can't really get that kind of opportunity anywhere else, so I don't want to miss it. I'll look into that as soon as I'm done with this post.

Take care all and see you in a couple of weeks!

You will be quite surprised at the amount of women who have heart attacks around the age of 30.
also some med's will induce a attack on something like that.
Over here a year ago on a Twilight Zone tower of terror like ride the same thing happened to a lady so I heard... :(

My heart goes out to the family.....

OH ERIC........are you reading these??? The HULK??? Great place for us to meet!! See you there........10 AM

Off to work, only six more working days!!

Hope

The woman was <B>34</B> and the ride had <I>nothing</I> to do with her heart attack. She had experienced pain in her jaw during the day, and had taken over-the-counter pain meds. With all the nurses on this thread, I'm sure most of you know that jaw pain can signal heart problems . . particularly in women. Although she had no history of heart problems, the doctors say she had all indications of "clogged arteries," and <I>yes</I>, that can happen to anyone and with American dietary habits is rather common nowadays. They say she would have had the attack even had she not gone on the ride.

<I>The Hulk</I> should be operating again today. I rode it Sunday (front row, natch!) and loved it as always. :smooth:

I leave in the morning for my back-to-back <I>Wonder</I> cruises - to celebrate <B>Raisin64</B>'s birthday. :p Seven days without checking the DIS (cruises are one of my few "escapes" from the Internet) . . . I hope I won't have <I>too many</I> pages to catch up on!

And I hope EVERYONE has their docs soon!

Nothing special going on, my employees are at lunch and I am taking a look at the boards, and to my horror we were on page 2!

See everyone in a couple weeks.

Bye, Kim

Hope,
the Hulk it is, 10/10 at 10am. Tomorrow we're going to Busch Gardens for some wild rides and some wild animals. We'll do it enroute to Indian Rocks Beach: Leave here early, pop up at BG at 9am, do everything there, then go to our next hotel, unpack and off to Tyrone Square Mall for some shopping and dinner. And then it's a week at the beach getting a tan - and meeting Jen&Jeff and Amy, Chris & Emily.

BTW, we just passed our final tests and are certified SCUBA-divers now:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
We'll spend the rest of the afternon at the pool and then it's Pizza-time - YumYum

Eric,

I never welcomed you and Anja to the states! Hope you had a great trip over and can't wait to see you soon.

Dan

Eric & Anja :smooth: That's great news about your dive certification. I must say however that I envy your ability to come across the pond so early and enjoy such a nice pre-cruise vacation.

:bounce: That guy with the brown truck better be stopping at my house tonite ... this document delay is realllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly putting a damper on the cruise excitement.

The last of the name tags get hole punched tonite while I watch Big Brother Finale ... Sorry guys but if you are new and haven't signed up with our group by now .. "no name tag for you". Not being mean but must tie up all the loose ends and gt packed before we drive down.

Dan ... I loved your e-mail to DU ... such a shame we have to stress over this and go to these ends to get what we should have had before this.

I WANT TO BE WITH MY FRIENDS .. AND I WANT TO BE WITH THEM NOW!
