I am doing MNSSHP that night also - either with my nephew or someone else, depending on whether he has to fly (work). There are a lot of DISers there that evening. There is a thread someone has for it HERE.

Lisa--- I also used to have a sweatshirt from Munchen Biergarten Deutschland which had my maiden name on it. I tried to find information on the internet about them but couldn't.

Back to work.

Hmmm. You might check this out! :jester:

Shari, those are the ones. I've looked online everywhere but can't seem to find them. Oh well, they probably went out of business since through my search it seems like a lot of people are looking for them but can't find them.

We're going to the Dollar store today in hopes of finding some cheap Disney souvenirs plus some things to keep my kids entertained on the long drive.

Happy Friday!!

Three more FRIDAYS and I will be at IOA flying through the air with Eric on the HULK!!

Anyone with Dreams got their documents yet?

Hope:Pinkbounc

From the sound of that web page, it looks like "Biergarten Deutschland, Munchen" shirts may have been a direct marketing spoof, which is why they may no longer be in business. It looks like the shirts were nice though. :)

Sorry for causing any confusion. The changes in tables involved tables 5 & 8. (Not table 4) Tammy and her group and SueEllen and her family wanted to eat together. So I moved them to table 8 and moved Arlo1 and Tiiigermom to table 5. SueEllen with be the hostess. Boardwalk4me, I will PM you with your new info.
I got a funny PM from a fellow cruiser asking what day we planned our brunch, so that they could avoid us! LOL Just kidding. They were just thinking it may be easier to get reservations on a different day. I told her we were only planning on taking up half of Palo, so there was still plenty of tables. Are you out there reading this MM?:jester: :jester: ;)

I talked with the nurse that will be filling in for me while I'm gone. She will come in one day for a crash course. But because my doctor will be working only 3 days that week, I am not worried about it. Somehow they'll manage without me!:p
Three weeks from taday we will be driving towards the port!
Sooner, rather than later. Ave'

No documents here yet. I'm not concerned yet but might start to be if they don't come next week.

Jim got a call from the dr's office yesterday and he has to go in on Monday night to see his family doctor about the results of the stress test. He's not thrilled because it's not usually a good sign when the dr calls you. I'm hoping he's just going to say that it's high blood pressure and put him on medication. Jim's said that he won't do any cruise shopping this weekend though until he sees the doctor on Monday night. :(

So cross shopping off the list for this weekend and add in some of the housework. :D

It's was really raining hard here this morning but was just out for lunch and although it's really, really windy it wasn't raining although it certainly looked like it was going to start again. The weekend is supposed to be ok though although a little cool. Hate to admit it but I guess I can pack my shorts since it doesn't appear that we will be wearing them here again this year.

Back to work now though.

Fiona

Thanks for all the good wishes concerning our flight - It obviously helped as Isabel has moved out of our way. I called Delta last night and they confirmed that there are no delays or diversions planned for our flight. But we pity all the poor people who lost their houses or were injured or killed :( The only consolation is, that it could have bee much worse. That storm looked really nasty a week ago

Lisa (& Jeff),
I haven't heard of these shirts neither. But on the Römer Square, the historic marketplace and center of Frankfurt, there are a couple of souvenirshops selling embroidered sweatshirts with nice German motifs and you could surely have an additional name embroidered on it. But be careful with the sizes: A German Large is usually a bit smaller than an American. Better go for X-Large then.
I I had known that earlier, I could have gotten one: Just this afternoon after work I was there. I got home by train today, because I left our car in my company's garage and did some shopping when I switched trains downtown.
Jeff, here's how to find that shop:
When you enter the Römer Square from Braubachstrasse (The street with the tram driving through) pass the Römer-building and after the first sidestreet to the right there is a pub and about 10 meters after the pub you'll find that shop.
Those Brauhaus shirts look like bogus to me, but who cares? ;)

We started packing at 3pm with a short break for dinner and now (9pm) we're finished. Early tomorrow we will be picked up by a friend, who owns a large van and is so kind to take us to the airport.

Pixie Dust to Jim.
And he can tell his doc that there are so many medical personell in our group, that he will be more than safe with us ;)

Fiona ... Give Jim our best and hope his doctor appt goes OK.

Colleen ... Boy, aren't you glad you weren't at Virginia Beach this week. I saw on the news that Ruddy's took an awful hit - glad we got to eat there before the storm. The food was good even though Josh's peas were a little funny!

Hope everyone weathered the storm OK ... Maybe by Sunday I can re-set all the electronic stuff that is blinking at me ... I reset the clock three times and just gave up. My power was starting to act like twinkle lights.

I see there is a new show at WDW that will start October 8th so you guys that are parking before the cruise can catch it and let us post cruise park people know how it it.

I also see that the Wonder has a new show ... what are the chances that the Magic will have it after they do dry-dock?

Will the Magic still drydock in Norfolk given the fact they had so much storm damage?

Little reminder .... don't forget to start stocking up on change for the toll roads if you are driving to the port.

Dan ... I think you cruised last ....... are they still so strict with security at the Port Canaveral? Could I get away with one carry on and one smaller roll bag (that's what I'm using to bring the name-tags and the rest of the goodies to pass out in)?

Sorry about all the questions ... hope everyone has a nice weekend and gets some packing done.

OOPS,
we nearly forgot to order our USF/IoA-tickets  I just ordered them on-line: Five days for two adults at $193, which is a great price. That was close. It wasn't on our checklist :o

Cathy,
what show? We will be there 10/02 - 10/10, so we could see it.

Eric and Anja -- hope you have a great trip across the Pond.

Thanks for the well wishes for Jim -- I think he'll be fine but I think he's just frustrated at this point -- that and he doesn't see the point in packing 3 weeks early. :D I, on the other hand, have started gathering. Haven't decided what combination of bag/suitcase to take yet. Since we are driving we will have lots of space (although this may not be a good thing!) and we tend to throw everything in. I'd like to be a little more organized this time though.

Is there any limitation on the size of bag we can have for a carryon?? Also is there any restriction on scissors? I'm probably going to bring some cross stitch with me and was thinking that I'd probably be safer packing that in the big suitcase rather than the carryon. Would this be correct?

Can't wait to see everyone.

That would have been great Eric........leave me standing at Hulk wondering where you are! :) Good thing you remembered!!

Have a safe trip!

Hope

I didn't know there was a limit on the # of carryons -- and I've got a small scissors packed too. Hopefully if each of the kids are allowed one carryon we shouldn't have more than six.:o

We went to the mall today and got two suits (for dress up night for the boys), 4 pr of dress up socks and a pair of dress shoes for only $27! :bounce: Now I feel like we're ready for formal night. My mom got my daughter a long dress at Dillard's the other day clearanced to $7.75! :Pinkbounc

OK, I've been out of the loop way too long...

I spent all last night trying to get some decent clothes for Tony (my graduate that's coming with me on the cruise) who is a habitual sweatshirt and sandal kid. We did find him a dress shirt and a pair of black shoes that will suffice for the dining room. Man, it was like pulling teeth to get this kid in something worthy of a restaraunt!! Worse than a girl! Anyhow, so he's finally set though I doubt he'll spend every dinner with us since he hates dressing up. Even dinner casual is too dressed up for him.

I, however, will be at everyone! I love to dress up.

So, I have my reservations for Captain Marvin's and I'm still looking at touring some ruins of some sort in Cozumel, but other than that, I'm not sure what we're doing. I know I'm going to make a spa appt or two once I get onboard.

I have the logo that was sent out a while back. Are we still making our own t-shirts with that or can we order shirts? What's the door logo? I've obviously missed that.

Oh, and Tony's single again so he's free to dance an dine with all your daughters :-)

See you all SOON!!!!!!!

PS. Just in case SueEllen doesn't get a chance to post, I just heard from her and she's OK. Isabell hit her neigborhood hard and she's out of power and all, but they have a generator and are muddling through. I was worried about her and thought others would like to know.

Eric - I think Cathy is talking about the new Mickey's Philharmagic Show at the MK. They're actually having a special event for annual passholders this weekend for the new show. They are going to have a passholder pin and we get a preview of the new show. So, Chris, Emily and I are heading over there tomorrow afternoon to check out the new show. I'll post to let everyone know how it is.

We would have met you anyway - With more expensive tickets then: The usual 3days/2parks would have been a bit more expensive.
Don't forget, we're German: Reliable and always on time :jester:

OK everybody,
thanks again for all the good wishes.
We'll see Y'all in three weeks - and some of you even earlier.

Anja & Eric
