Dave - I think that the idea of behind Cinderella's castle is a good one. However, I do remember that last year, they had a storyteller at different times that was right in front of the sword in the stone. So, I wonder if that might get crowded. I do remember that the coach was set up behind the castle and then the line was set up leading away from the castle. What if we try to meet behind Cinderella's castle, near Tinkerbell's Treasures shop. From what I remember, that area wasn't too crowded with people. Then, if people want to get pictures of the coach, they can do that too. And, 8pm sounds good to me.

Tinkerbell's Treasures shop it is!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Dave

My parents got their tickets today! Which means I have to go out there (probably this weekend) and pick up my daughter's and sons tickets since they're listed as being in the room with them.

A big weight has been lifted off my shoulders tonight. This weekend our twins club is having a huge re-sell-it sale consisting of clothes, toys, baby equipment, etc. I dropped off about 350 clothes items plus tons of other stuff I've been frantically getting together. Now I can concentrate on the next stressful thing...packing for five!

I told DH he is on his own for packing, and don't give me trouble about all the suitcases I have because yes, there are five others going which means lots of stuff!

I haven't been sleeping well at night because everything is going through my mind about how much I still have to do.

BTW, we can also go to an American place - That's one of the reasons to be in the USA, isn't it ;) At least for us - and no offense meant, Silentshot, my British Mate :p

Eric you can not Offend a friend........ But then again you could go to the British Pub for some real beer......

;)

Hey Hey Hey...

It's official...only a few more days and one of you lucky people could be the proud new owners of our little Pinky!
You should all feel VERY special! In the past Pinky has always been returned to us when the hunt is finished, but this time we have decided to let the team who finds Pinky take him home with them and of course you will have bragging rights for the rest of the cruise. But don't forget, finding Pinky does not necessarily make you a winner! It's points that count!

So, the official start location has changed. We will still meet the group at the Hilton Hotel, however, we will now meet you at the "Sunset Deck" above the Hilton Restaurant "Bistro 245". We'll be there to check you in 15-20 minutes ahead of time. Just follow the boardwalk behind the hotel overlooking the ocean and head up the stairs. Our staff will be wearing red scavenger hunt shirts.

That's all for now, have a great cruise...see you in Key West!

Graff & Pinky!

I've been wondering how I could use the lime green Mickey Mouse heads from Home Depot and got a great idea from Verandahman. He made pins to wear using these Mickey Heads. Thank you Verandahman!

I already made mine and was wondering if anyone else would be interested in them. I could make them and bring them to the deck party.

Here is the link to the one that Verandaman made.

Mine is similar except it says Cruisetoberfest II with my name under it and then my screen name under that.

Let me know if anyone wants them and the names that should go on them.

thanks,

Renee'

Safe trip...see you soon.

Bette

Bette,
do you want to hear a good example for coincidence?
Read this: Today before working out I talked to a guy in the lockerroom of our gym - just the usual smalltalk. During that talk he said "I've gotta hurry now, I work the nightshift today!" When I asked him what he does, he said: "I'm a police officer". So I told him about you and your friend in your local force and his request and that guy spontaneously said: "Where do you live? I'll bring you something tonight." I was (and that is a very rare occurence;) ) totally speechless. Just 10 minutes ago he popped up at our house and brought me a brandnew German policeshirt in its original wrapping and a uniform sticker of the Frankfurt Police Force.
That was a piece of luck, wasn't it? :bounce: :bounce:

PS: I just wonder what our neighbours may think now about that visit of the police after dark :jester:

Pretty cool Eric..

So Jeff has decided we're doing MNSSHP on the 10th most likely... am I correct in reading that people are meeting in Tink's Treasures? If we are, just remember that last year they had the Coach with Cindy herself set up there all night.

What time?

Renee' ,
we would appreciate two: One for Anja and one for Eric please. This is an especially appropriate tag for us: The name of the paint company is Behr - and so is our last name, too!!! Unfortunately there is no relation ;)

Folks,
I call it a night now. I intend to be at the office quite early to be able to leave very early too. I was thinking about 1 - 2pm.
When we're through with packing tomorrow we'll have a quick peek at the boards.

See Y'all then

Jen - Yep, we're meeting at Tinkerbell's Treasures at 8pm. Last year they did have the coach right behind the castle and it was pretty darn cool.

The lime green mickey buttons are cool. Two please here -- one with Fiona and one with Jim. Thanks bunches.

Busy day at work again although all kinds of little stuff. Can't seem to get to the bottom of the pile though!! I keep telling everyone that in 3 weeks I'm going to be in my car driving towards WDW. Our receptionist already asked what beanies I'm bringing back!!! My beanie collection resides in my office since Lily (the dog) thinks that they are dog toys!!

Waiting for Hurricane Isabel to hit tomorrow morning. We are supposed to get a lot of rain and some wind. Have to look around the backyard tonight and pick up anything that's liable to blow around -- asked DS to do this yesterday but, well, I doubt he has. :D

Fiona

Renee', I would love to have six buttons. Could we have them with the following names: Lisa, Mike, Lauren, Matthew, Jacob, Nicholas. Thank You! :bounce:

After reading the last 2 pages (I'm at least 10 + behind) I realize that I'm not the only one in the pre-cruise funk. SO MUCH TO DO, SO MUCH I STILL WANT TO TO, AND THE FEELINGS THAT THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TIME ... then there is the GOD DON'T LET ME FORGET SOMETHING. (OK, I feel a little better now! )

Does anyone know why it takes so darn long to get our documents when you book thru Dreams Unlimited? We basically pay the same as everyone else!

The last of the name tags are ready to be laminated and hole punched. As I look at the number of tags, I say to my self, "Geez, we're one big family!"

Don't forget Survivor teaser is on tonite.

Last but not least ... I pray that none of us gets hurt by the hurricane that has hit land in the Carolina's.

Cathy with @ C (That is the first Cathy with @ C!)

The buttons are great. I hate to ask you to do more, BUT....if you have time..............Michael, Hope, Megan & Sara would love one!

I want my documents!!

Do any of you own the Disney Jam CD's. My dd's love the music on those. The sixth one just came out and they are upstairs dancing to it. It sounds like my ceiling is going to fall in!

It is nice to know that if I forget something......someone here will probably have it! :)

Have any of you heard of the sea safe lotion to keep away sea lice? Do you think it is necessary??

Hope

8 more working days!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

*Cost?
It's $20/person for 3 hours. Kids 10 years and under are FREE. Prepayment by check is required two months prior to excursion (August). They don't take credit cards. If you are from outside the US, US Money Orders are accepted or if you have a US dollar account from a foreign bank you can draw a check on that.

We will be sending our checks to the following address:

The Southernmost Scavenger Hunt
3301 Pearl Ave
Key West, FL 33040

Please include a self addressed stamped envelope and also a NOTE with your names, e-mail address, date of hunt and DIS name. A new check will be issued from The Southernmost Scavenger Hunt to the envelope addressee and only be returned if the hunt is canceled due to the ship not arriving in Key West. No additional refunds will be made for cancellations, or people not arriving for the event.

***YOU MAY SEND CHECKS IN NOW***

*Place and time?
We are going to meet on Sunday, October 12th, 2003 at 1PM at the Hilton Hotel which is to the right of the red brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship. We will meet the Scavenger Hunt people at the Hilton's "Sunset Deck" above the Hilton Restaurant "Bistro 245". They will be there to check you in 15-20 minutes ahead of time. Just follow the boardwalk behind the hotel overlooking the ocean and head up the stairs. Their staff will be wearing red scavenger hunt shirts. The Magic usually docks in front of the Hilton Hotel. The hunt lasts from 1 PM to 4 PM. Remember to wear your ScavengEar t-shirts.

*Electric Cart?
If one needs an electric cart, the scavenger hunt people can point you in the right direction to rent one. The two electric cart places they use are Key West Cruisers @ (305)294-4724 http://keywest.com/keywestcruisers/ on Truman Ave at Truman and Duval and Reef Mobile (formerly Randal J Scooters) @ (305) 296-0208 www.reefmobile.com on Greene Street (near Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval). The Reef Mobile Electric Carts are themed, but have changed management and are going to be themed according to "reefs", like shark, manatee, dolphin, baracouda or octopus in a reef theme instead of the polka-dotted one on the hunt website. Call these companies to make reservations if you require an electric cart. An electric cart isn't necessary to experience this tour.

*Sites?
Southermost Point, Hemmingways House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too. Learn about interesting facts and trivia of these landmarks and sites.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too.

Since we are the ScavengEar hunt, our hunt has to have a pair of Mickey Ears, too. The back is sewn with the words "Pinky". At the end of the hunt, people gather at the "mystery location" for the awards ceremony where all the points are tallied and stories of our hunt are told.

That's it for now. They will be checking in on us to give our group more information, so they will be posting shortly and I will also. If more people want to join the group, just reply to this thread. If I missed someone, sorry. Just remind me, and I'll add you.

Tina:Pinkbounc

We would also love buttons, if you have enough. Chris, Amy & Emily

I know how everyone feels about trying to get so much done in so little time. And for us, it's even more abbreviated. We leave next Wednesday for Chicago for my brother's wedding. So, I've been trying to focus on getting things ready for the wedding, without forgetting about the cruise. I think that I'm going to pull out a small suitcase to start putting some of the things that I know that we won't use between now and the cruise.
