Well, on the plus side, received our docs (!!!yay!!). Can't believe the time is coming up soon.
On the downside, we weren't too thrilled with where they put us. We had booked "guaranteed" rooms, but the room we've been assigned is far from the deck we wanted to be on. On the plus side, it's a mini-upgrade in category , but on the down side, it's in the middle of nowhere.

Is there anything we can/should do about this, or should we just be happy we're booked?
We're both the type that hate to mess with things once they've been set. But if I can get a better room at an affordable rate, should I try - and does that mean they'll have to resend our documents again, or is this all straightened out when you get there?
Thanks!
Tony G.

Ave...thanks for the link for T-Shirts. I also was having trouble finding yellow for DH and myself. I just ordered them. I printed the logos today but did not get to iron them on yet.

I also found masks/snorkles at Wal-Mart (adult size $5.00/kids $3.50) They were on one of those rolling shelves in the middle of the store. At that price I don't care if they get lost/broken!!!!

YEAH!!! I almost posted, but I didn't want to be "accused" of stealing your landmark post!!! ;) ;) ;)

We're in the same boat with our docs. Booked through DVC, so I'm not expecting them right away. But, I can't wait to get them. I hear the UPS truck and think "are they stopping??"

Still need to buy a few things for the cruise. Emily has all of her clothes, and we're thinking about buying a tux for Chris. We have a Sacino's outlet here, so we'll see on Saturday. Chris went and tried one on last night, and they're holding it for him.

We have to find some water shoes for Chris and I, and I might buy Chris a new swimsuit. He has 3, but 1 of them is pretty worn out.

It just can't come fast enough for me!!!!

Hey Mary - maybe I'll have to take a trip to Walmart. That is a good price. We also have some water toys that we bought for Emily at Walmart earlier this summer for only $5. We took them with us to the Bahamas and figured if we left them there, no big deal. But, we ended up having the room in our luggage, so we brought them home. Same thing this time, if no room, they'll stay.

Tony...congrats on your upgrade! I have been on deck 2 (2X) deck 5 and this trip deck 6. I don't think there is anywhere on the ship that is "in the middle of nowhere"!What catagory did you wind up with? With all the past cruisers on this thread if you post you cabin # or apx location (ex dek 2 midship) I'll bet someone will be able to give you some advise on if you should attempt on changing it or not.

Alikat...I also bought a few water toys (for $1.50!!!!) they also had goggles water guns ect.

Nancy...congrats on #5800! NOW HERE THIS EVEYONE....#6000 is MINE!!!LOL:p

I have booked with DVC and with cash....no difference as far as docs go. This is the first time I have booked with a TA so it may take longer.

Rosemary and Nancy....START SHOPPING!!!!!Just tell yourselves you will get a few items on your list. Once you start...it is easy to keep going:p

I found one of those collapsible hampers at the Family Dollor store, as well as a few items for the kids baskets I am making this year.

I saw on another thread the offer that they are giving for booking the new Eastern iternary for 2004. I think it was $400 on board credit and 10% off. Will have to check that out. I think I can book on board and then transfer to DVC and still keep the credit.

You cannot combine any offers with DVC unfortunatelyl. The only thing DVC offers for booking onboard is a *slight* discount on the amount of points needed to book if you confirm with DVC within a few days (I think it was 6) of your sailing date. You cannot get a shipboard credit of any sort if you have a DVC booking  Don't even get me started on that one!

We booked onboard last October for this year, and used DVC points. Not only did I not get the discount (we were 8 days ahead of the 11 month booking window), but we also could not get any shipboard credit (Disney Club, etc.) for our sailing. On our first cruise we were hoping to get the first time cruisers shipboard credit, but because we booked DVC for that one too, no go.

I am seriously considering booking on board with the 10% and the $400 credit for those new itinerary cruises.

We have already desided we are booking next years trip while on board. The Oct (2nd or 3rd??) to Antigua. That discount is too good to pass up. We will use our points at WDW.

Where can I find the itinerary for next year? I did a little online searching but didn't come up with anything. I would love to go again the beginning of next October. Most likely DD will be on cycle break again, and DH has never been to Antigua so he might be all for it. :bounce: Is it a seven day cruise?

Oh and I forgot the best news. Yep, those were our cruise tickets!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: Going there this weekend to pick them up. They were only for me, DH, and two of our kids. We didn't get the ones for our other two children because they're listed as being in a room with my parents, and since my parents are flying down it will be another two weeks because of their airline tickets.

All we have is our cruise book about the on shore stuff ........
we got our FLIGHT TICKETS.............. HOTEL is booked....

Time is flying......... TBH I need this holiday.... We can not wait to see you all....

Eric... we can get together anytime mate..... just give us a evening and then we meet...

We will try to hit both parties CC and DVC...

Good morning all!

Just a quick note to Goofynut to say I forgot to mail videoman last night after I said I would and so I came on quickly this a.m. to do same but soon realized that I don't have his new email address. My latest list printout is the 25th edition. The new one just mailed is on Richard's computer (along with the rest) and now I have no time. I will try to remember to email him tonight or tomorrow. This posting should help me remember. :p

Congrats to Lisa and the others who received their documents. TonyG from NYC received his so that makes me a little hopeful but I am patient, I will wait. (What choice do I have?)

I'm thinking of booking this same cruise while onboard so we can get the shipboard credit and the 10% off. We have never been to Antigua, and I agree, you can't pass up that deal. Hubby even said it sounded good to him.

Now if October would only get here.....

BTW - no docs here yet either. :(

HORRORS!!!! We were actually on page 2. How can that be???

How's everyone this fine Thursday? It's gloomy, gloomy, gloomy here in the "Sunshine" State. That tropical depression just needs to get it over with and hit land, so I can see the sun again.

We had a little visitor from UPS (or whoever the delivery service was). He had a little present known as ,,, yes you guessed it....

CRUISE SHIP DOCUMENTS!!! YEAH!!!!!

I just dont know if we like the room or what. We're in room 1049. Its on deck one midship. Does anyone have any feedback on this?
I'm just a little scared of the unknown. But at least we got our documents finally.

Let me know what you guys think.

Arlene

To all:

Just wanted to say to have a great week and can't wait to see you all real soon!

If anyone needs anything call my cell phone within the next 2 days and I can help you out!

Dan

Have a fantastic time, Dan!!! We'll see you in just a few weeks!!!

Have a great time Dan.

Weather here is sunny although it's starting to get a little cool at night. :(

Was hoping to take tomorrow totally off but have to come in to see a client at 9am and then I'm out of here for the weekend camping. We are supposed to be there at around noon to help with the set up. Been going to this particular camp for 10 years and have never made setup so this is the goal for the year. Work is not cooperating though. :(

Frustration rules -- computer registration system appears to be down just when I have a pile of stuff to do on it. It rarely goes down but every time it has it's been a pain in the butt.

Still no documents here -- or at least not the last time I got an email from Jim. I've told him to jump and not ignore the doorbell so he's on cue for it.

Really, really need this vacation. I just keep telling myself that on Monday we leave in a month which means a month from now I'll be running around (and yelling) about everything that needs to be done. Although I do plan ahead it also seems like there's a lot to do at the very end.

Going to go check to see if the system is back online.

Fiona

Congratulations to all those that have received their documents. No docs for us yet:( :( :( :(

Dan and Scott have a safe trip. Shari I know that you have a cruise coming up soon also. Mike

Ok everyone!!! I'm doing the :bounce: :bounce: HAPPY DANCE :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

UPS just rang the door bell, and our Docs are here. Since this is our first cruise, I just know that I'm going to spend all night reading all of this stuff.
