:bounce: :bounce: Welcome to Boardwalk4me!:bounce: :bounce:
Glad to have you in our happy Disgroup. We stayed at the Raddison last year. We got the stadard room, while sister and family got the suite. Both we nice, quite, and clean. Dinning room and pool area are also quite nice. If you have any children in your group they can e-mail my daughter Mary at patronis90@aol.com. She is compiling a list with name, age, grade, date of birth, home town, e-mail address and hobbies. There are 12 kids on the list ages 6-15.
Congrats to my niece on her award! WAY TO PLAY!!!!:p
Hygiene99, Brunch is still on. I have a list with 23 people so far. I hope to do what worked out so well last year. We plan on having Brunch on the first day at sea (Monday). Anyone who wants to join us gets put on the "Brunch List". Then when we meet at the Raddison on the Friday before the cruise I hand out index cards to a host or hostess for each table. These people usually volunteer, but I reserve to right to draft you. LOL This person will then be responsible for signing up themselves and the other members assigned to thier table as soon as they board on Sat. morning. More details to follow. Later, Ave

Mike & Kathy,
Here is some Pixie Dust. Better late than never! I am just so slow these days. Glad to hear Mike's test came back good and Kathy is doing better.

Welcome to our merry band Boardwalk4me!!! This will be a cruise like no other!

Rosemary, I miss your post about Rich's test, but saw it in Mike post. Pixiedust to Rich also.

RellingTwin congrats to your DD

We went to visit DD at University of Delaware last weekend for her birthday and Mothers day. Weather wasn't the greatest, but we had a good time. She is getting ready for finals. Unlike most of her old high school buddies, she doesn't get out until the end of May.

Dave

Papa; Glad to hear you are both doing ok. We will all be together soon, God willing and the creek don't rise!
:jester:
DD brought home her Honor Roll medal today. Straight A's for every subject, for every grading period. We are some proud parents!;)
Fiona, Your son is going for the record! Good for him.(and you)

Got to go to bed now. Today was day 18. Thank goodness Sat. is almost here.:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Have to run and get some dinner done.

Kathy found some shoes that have made a world of difference in the way my back feels. *utt ugly but work like a charm.Shoes Mike

Good to hear that you're fit !!!!

Talking about the shoes: Now you only have to sew a pouch to the front of your tee and you can do the kangaroo :jester:

Hi Folks,

Boardwalk4me sent his info, so I'll do an update tonite (my time).

Dear Friends,

surprisingly I found time to update the list in the morning ;)
Check out your mailboxes for the newest edition.
Now we have to hurry, because Anja has an appointment with her hairstylist to be prepared for tomorrow's festivities at Opa's Birthday Party - And I need her help, too: For polishing the forehead and cutting on the back of my head :jester:

Got the update Eric, Thanks!

Glad everyone is on the mend.

Boardwalk...my DS was so excited to see one of your party is a PRO BASS FISHERMAN!!! It's what he wants to be when he grows up!DS watches all the fishing shows on TV and would rather go fishing then anything else. His favorite part of our last cruise was fishing at CC(where he caught the most fish on the boat)!

Ave...congrats to DD on her report card!(She takes after me
:p )

Time for work!

How do we join in on the brunch? Andy and I will not be staying at the Radisson the night before as we will be going to Disney the night before and will stay nearer to Orlando but would like to join in on the brunch.

Tentatively we're going to go to Mickeys Not So Scary Very Halloween Party the night before the cruise if anyone wants to join in and the day the cruise docks we're going to try to go to Universal to see Shrek 4D. Can't wait.

*Cost?
It's $20/person for 3 hours. Kids 10 years and under are FREE. Prepayment by check is required three months prior to excursion (July). They don't take credit cards. If you are from outside the US, US Money Orders are accepted or if you have a US dollar account from a foreign bank you can draw a check on that. We will be sending our checks AND a self-addressed stamped envelope (so the checks can be returned if we miss Key West) to the following address:
The Southernmost Scavenger Hunt
3301 Pearl Ave
Key West, FL 33040
DO NOT SEND CHECKS, YET!

*Place and time?
We are going to meet on Sunday, October 12th, 2003 at 1PM in front of the stairs to the Hilton Hotel Lobby. It's to the right of the red brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship. The Magic usually docks in front of the Hilton Hotel. The hunt lasts from 1 PM to 4 PM. Remember to wear your ScavengEar t-shirts designed by @GoofyNut.

*Electric Cart?
If one needs an electric cart, the scavenger hunt people can point you in the right direction to rent one. The two electric cart places they use are Key West Cruisers @ (305)294-4724 http://keywest.com/keywestcruisers/ on Truman Ave at Truman and Duval and Reef Mobile (formerly Randal J Scooters) @ (305) 296-0208 www.reefmobile.com on Greene Street (near Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval). The Reef Mobile Electric Carts are themed, but have changed management and are going to be themed according to "reefs", like shark, manatee, dolphin, baracouda or octopus in a reef theme instead of the polka-dotted one on the hunt website. Call these companies to make reservations if you require an electric cart. An electric cart isn't necessary to experience this tour.

*Sites?
Southermost Point, Hemmingways House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too. Learn about interesting facts and trivia of these landmarks and sites.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too.

Since we are the ScavengEar hunt, our hunt has to have a pair of Mickey Ears, too. The back is sewn with the words "Pinky". At the end of the hunt, people gather at the "mystery location" for the awards ceremony where all the points are tallied and stories of our hunt are told.

That's it for now. They will be checking in on us to give our group more information, so they will be posting shortly and I will also. If more people want to join the group, just reply to this thread. If I missed someone, sorry. Just remind me, and I'll add you.

Tina

What a depressing day outside. It has been raining all day and it's so grey and yucky nobody feels like working. Thankfully it's Friday and it's a long weekend. The weatherman says that it's supposed to be nice over the weekend so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Fiona

Eric,
Thanks for the update showing our newly formed table.

For everyone else,
We are still interested in other people joining our fun group. We are 7 people and have late seating.

Tina :)

Arlene,
we will definitely be at MK for the MNSSHP on 10/10 as it is also ENSSFB (Eric's Not So Scary Fourtieth Birthday). We plan on parkhopping in the morning and will arrive at the MK in the early afternoon. Probably we will have the Character Dinner with Pooh and his friends from the 100 Acre Wood at the Crystal Palace.

Ooops,
sorry, Tina - I forgot to mention the Scavenger Hunt in my initial mail to Jeff.

Now I got it: I thought it was fishing to eat/sell the fish, but obviously it's Competetive Fishing. I kind of suspected it, because I have a Bass Fishing Game using a fishing-rod-like joystick for my Dreamcast, but now I'm sure.
You really have some funny professions in The States ;)

It's OK, Eric, it's not like it's our job (just for fun for our friends). We must be the most organized bunch of DIS/DCL cruisers out there! LOL!

Tina :)

Brain scramble ... Not sure if I signed up Art & I for the brunch or not. Please add us. I remember last year's scramble. Mike, Kathy, Art & I zipping by the "Welcome Aboard" and down the hall to make reservations and having our gang be #1, #2, #3, #4 & #5 in line...they didn't know what hit them.

We have a baseball game for tonite (Phillies AA team) but it's yucky and looks like rain ... hope not cause they have fireworks after and that's Art's favorite part.

Gotta run (AGAIN)

Cathy with @ C

PS For those felling icky ... HEAL, DARN IT!

PSS ... Check out the post under "Changes to the Magic" about what will be waiting for us when the Magic is fresh out of drydock.
Adding Coffee Bar ... Taking away ESPN and changing into a sports bar .. No more Dueling Piano's etc.

Anja is very excited about the prospect of having good coffee on the ship. She's a real addict - But what nurse isn't ;)

Jim will have to try the coffee out as he will be going into withdrawal at that point from his Timmy's coffee (Tim Horton's). The last Tim's on the drive down is the bottom of Ohio. He will be without it for 2.5 weeks this time so I'm sure he'll be trying out the coffee. I'm a tea drinker though and rarely drink coffee.

Still raining here. Yuck.

Fiona

The Weekend is Here at Last!!!!
My first day off in 20 days! Let's see....I only have about 20 loads of laundry to do. But that's OK, at least I'll be HOME.:D
ARLO1, Don't worry about the brunch. There's lots of folks joining us for brunch that will not be at the Raddison. I am adding you to the list..........ok, you're on the list. Now don't worry about anything except showing up hungry.

Goofynut: you are on the list!

I will post the entire list tomorrow. Anyone who wants to join in let me know.
