Robin hope that you, Mike and Matt are doing well and we are looking forward to seeing you again.

I called Cathy last night and told her about Katie sliming the car adapter for my cell phone. The baby spit killed it deader than four oclock. Had to get a new one.

Congratulations Michelle and Chris on post #3500. Mike

Eric ... Who said I'd skip one of the Chef's adult deserts in lieu of getting the Mickey Bar. I figure I'd get both and walk a few laps on deck 4 to work it off....actually I'd probably have to row the ship for a few miles to work off that many additional calories!

Weather was really nice last night, only problem was during our walk the nats (those nasty May flies) were awful. In your ears, eyes, mouth, etc. Poor AshLee was even going crazy with them.
Still beats the snow.

Back to work...................DARN :Pinkbounc

Hello everyone,

Been lurking but it is hard to get to the computer esp. at home with DDIL and DS at it for hours on end. :(

Eric, I was really pushing for a monorail from North to South. You know...like WDW? I just love that and to ride in the front of it too is awesome. Cathy, Art, Mike and I rode in the front of the Monorail at least twice last year when we went to Disney World.

It is kind of scary at first watching the concrete move under you and going around curves is also a little scary but when you pass another train going the opposite direction it is REALLY scary, but fun.:p I think it would be very good to put them in service here in the states. I don't know much about the cost of building, maintaining or cost of operating them but they are clean, quiet and fast.

I think that is the way to look at poor ole Mike having to stay in the car next time. Hummm, 11 hours in the car and we could be in Florida. Yeah, that would work until we started to have Katie with us. I really don't want to have her in the car that long. It is really unfair to her and I worry about her in the car like that. Usually Mike takes her out of the car-seat while he is waiting on me to get through with a patient and lets her play in the front seat or feeds her and gives her her juice. I suggested that he also get her in her stroller and take a little walk with her too since it is getting warmer (hot) here. I need to remember to put her sun block in her diaper bag though.

Oh, BYW, don't let baby spit get on your cell phone plug in to your phone end. Katie was chewing on it (not while plugged into the car jack) and I guess I didn't wipe it off enough and her spit corroded the brass fittings. I was dumbfounded when Mike was sitting out in the car just fuming about the stupid thing. ;) We had to go to the phone store and get another one.

Yes, at the risk of sounding jealous, Heidi and Jenna are the two skinny, anorexic nasty chicks. I felt so sorry for Christy last week when she waited to buy her letter from home. I couldn't believe what I was hearing from those two. Christy was very gracious at agreeing to let Jenna have her letter from home.

Got to get off now. Mike and I don't have any visits today (Thankgoodness) and I have promised myself to clean the computer room and bathrooms and hopefully get something pitched out of my sewing room so that I can make some of my babies some bibs when I go to see them over the next two weeks. Take care, Kathy with a K

Did see on the news about the cruise lines questioning people who have been to Toronto. Read that one cruise line (can't remember which one) wouldn't let people from Toronto board and was giving them full refunds. Although I can understand that a cruise ship wouldn't want an illness like SARS on board have to admit that the response is a bit extreme. I have yet to see anyone here wearing a mask and don't know anyone who has SARS or even know anyone that knows anyone that's sick with SARS.

Just heard on the radio at lunch that the WHO are lifting the travel advisory to Toronto which is a good thing. People have cancelled their weddings because guests from outside Toronto are afraid to come. That just made me really sad because most weddings are planned so far in advance.

Gotta go as my client is here.

Fiona

Hi Kathy with @ K ... It's realllllllly nice of you to make bibs for those little babies you visit. They are lucky to have you as their Nurses For Newborns contact.

:bounce: JAG Fans :bounce: Don't forget tonite you have to watch to see what did in Singer. Still bummed she's gone cause she added a diff personality to things.

Fiona ... Saw somewhere on the Net (not here) that Disney Cruise was having anyone from Toronto, etc check in with their nurse (Disney's ) before beginning the boarding process. First thing I said to Art was how sad. With any luck this whole mess will be behind us by October and we can dance away our cares.

Eric ... Did you guys ever get a Video of Universal Florida to watch? Let me know cause I have one I can send you.

Dan ... My man, how is your co-worker that got burned? How's Scott and Fantasia? You haven't gone crazy planting flowers yet, have you .... I remember before Cruisetoberfest I you planted about 300 chrysantamums (sp).

Rosemary ... Glad you enjoyed your NYC trip. Hope you took notes and can help us if we can set up a meet there.

Dave & Ellen ... How you guys doing?

Ave, Mary - EVERYBODY ELSE ... What's UP?

Hi Folks,
good to see that the tread is gettin' busier again:
Congratulations on post #3500, Chris&Michelle!!

Mike,
there's no such thing as child-proof. Physicists just recently developed a new method to split atoms: The gave one to a three-year old and told him to take good care of it :jester:

Fiona ,
we heard the good news too on the evening news: No more SARS-warning for Toronto
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Cathy,
no, we haven't seen a USF-video so far. Do they have anything new? We've been there every time we were in Florida and really love the parks. OK, they don't have "The Magic", but they have some real thrill-rides Disney is lacking so far (Exept for ToT and R'n'R-coaster).
My dream would be a villain-theme-park, starring Jaffar, Scarr, Captain Hook, Cruella, etc in some nerve-wrecking killer-rides.

Kathy,
are you talking about the Transrapid? Our mag-lev-train is incredibly fast with a cruising speed of about 250 mph. Unfortunately we only have a test-track so far. The only commercially used train runs in Shanghai/China. Our government is considerung to build one between Hamburg an Berlin.
Riding in teh nose of the Monorail is also one of our favourites, but in 2001, so shortly after 9-11, we didn't even ask for a ride-in-the-nose :( We considered it highly improbable to get it granted during the heightened security-level.

Eric - Shrek 4D opens at USF in June. Okay - It is NOT a thrill ride, but they claim you will "<I>feel the action . . right from your own seat!</I>" I am an <I>Incredible Hulk</I> fan myself. I LOVE good coasters! :p

Thanks again for the <I>Spruce Creek</I> article. ;) I can't get that "<I>unemployed by choice</I>" line out of my head!

LOL Just thinking of Cathy with a "C" rowing the Magic!!!

We returned late Sunday, but this is my first time back on the boards. Geezzz, it would take me forever to read the about 8 pages of posts since I was last on.

WDW was great, the whether was great, all in all we had a GREAT trip. We went with another family who had never been there before. I just love to share DISNEY with Newbies.

Considering it was Easter week the parks were pretty light. Not empty, but definitely light compared to other holiday weeks we have been in the parks. As a customer it was GREAT. As a stockholder.....well, let's hope the economy picks up.

They now are saying that the new Mission Space ride in EPOCT should open in October with a soft opening in August. Let's hope there are not more delays so Eric and Anja will be able to see it in October.

Looking forward to October even more now.

Dave

Papa.........did you feel the EARTHQUAKE last night???? OMG....it was so strong. The center was 20 miles from our house!! My bed rattle for a long time. 45 seconds isn't a long time unless your house is shaking around you! :) One DD slept through it and the other was terrified!!

Hope:Pinkbounc

We slept right through it Hope. I didn't even know it happened until I turned on the news. Mike

I wish we could have slept through it. It was centered so close to us that everything really shook. My bed was hitting the wall. It is so weird to have an earthquake in Alabama!!!

Glad to hear you were able to sleep through it!!

Hope

Welcome back, Dave & Ellen :D

Thanks for the info about Mission Space, we're really looking forward to ride this one. We just hope that Disney doesn't goof this one like they did with Test Track. We were so disappointed in 1997 when we entered EPCOT making straight for TestTrack and found ourselves standing in front of a construction area :(

Shari,
the term "unemployed by choice" or "voluntarily unemployed" was used this way verbatim in German - not my fault ;)
I'm happy that you like the article - Shall I bring the original magazine or a coloor-copy of it in October?

Hope,

We were living in Florence, Ala. when there was an earthquake that lasted about 30- 45 seconds. At first we thought the dog was scratching a flea and her leg was knocking on the porch but when I checked and she came in with me, my mom realized it was an earthquake. The whole house was just vibrating and one of the doors was knocking against the wall. It was really weird. I was about 18 at the time. :D

Once here in Nashville I felt a very brief tremble that was only a second or two but that was years ago.

I am at work again. Mike and I went to the movies today and when I got out I checked my phone and I had a message that they needed a warm body here at work tonight and hey...Overtime ain't bad! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :teeth:

Needless to say, everything we were going to do today didn't get done. Well, there is always next week, huh?

Time to feed the chillins. (Babies to you northen people ;) ) Take care and have a good rest of the week.

Kathy with a K

p.s. Cathy, the fish went with the logo on it to the place where they are putting the clear coat on it. So far, so good.;)

Eric - Your translation was EXCELLENT! I just found the "<I>unemployed by choice</I> (or voluntarily)" quite amusing because it was "right on" :jester: . I am a wildlife photographer because I <I>love it</I>, but as you can imagine the work is sporadic - definitely not a steady income :( . And the independent TA work is even less reliable nowadays, of course. So when I am doing the parks so frequently or doing other things, I too am sometimes asked "<I>Shouldn't you be working?</I>" Now I know that the Spruce Creeker common answer is, "<I>WHY?</I>" :teeth:

But yes - I'd love to see the magazine or colour copy of the article in October if it isn't too much trouble. Thanks!

I missed JAG last night and forgot to tape it as we were at the baseball game. What happened??? I know it will probably be rerun at some point but I can't wait that long. :p

Weather is great here today and the baseball game was good even though we lost 16-11 -- really high scoring for a baseball game and it was long -- 4 hours.

Have a great day everyone.

Fiona

Fiona-- I saw on the news today that the $1 Blue Jay game was a sell out. They also said that the owners lost close to 1/2 million dollars on the promotion. However, it was a very good way to get people out and show that they aren't afraid of SARS.

Off to a meeting in Harrisburg. What a great day for a drive.

Nancy

 OK Jag Fans, this is me :bounce: mad. Was it me or did that show really stink last night. There was too much going on with them trying to stick in the covert stuff that I don't think had anything to do with Singer's death. Call me crazy, but if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it. BTW Fiona ... Harm did not kill her.

I feel better now.............

Back to work.
