Hi all you night owls,
I can't sleep because I'm so excited about Ben coming home and the cruise, of course... I can almost feel the wind in my hair (note to self, bring scrunchies for night walks on deck) the maple glazed salmon, the sea smell, the sand between my toes... sorry, momentary lapse in reality there...
Nancy, feel free to come talk while we crop. I don't know where we will do it yet, but we will find a place. It's fun to talk about our great photos and the fun we had and will have this time. I started out with CM but went on to smaller binders and different style pages. I'm going to work on pages from our last cruise. Fun!!!
:)

I would love to join you all and "watch" you crop. I think scrapbooks are great but I am just not very creative. The only scrapbook I did was when I was preg with the twins and all it was is pics of me and my ever expanding belly and all my ultrasounds, NST's, etc. with a few notes.

My plan is to make a big scrapbook with all my pictures and momentums from this trip but I really am clueless!

Hi again,
I forgot to add that I always clean before a trip. It makes it much more fun to come home and know the house doesn't need my work right then. Now if I could only persuade my waiter to come home with me... and the chef... and the room steward, that would be really great! The only part about cruising is getting home and hitting the reality that we have to make our own lunch.
Maybe we should talk about going out to lunch on the disembarkation day? What do you think?
Try to get some sleep in the next 11 days, so we can enjoy this vacation without suffering from sleep deprivation!
Night, Renae;)

I am also in a cleaning mode. Nothing worse than coming home to a messy home. Tonight I cleaned the laundry room and vacuumed our family room. As I was vacuuming I was thinking "maybe I should shampoo the rugs before we leave?" I'll have to see what we have planned for this weekend.

I know I am crazy....I need to worry about packing and not forgetting anything instead of cleaning house....

Hey Tony! Welcome aboard. Cool name.
Hope you have a good time on the ship.

Mary just bring one CD and we will put all of your pictures on it for you. When your memory stick gets full just stop by and I will download them to the computer and then put them all on the cd for you toward the end of the cruise.

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon we leave for florida on the 9th. Mike

10 days until we get on board:boat:

9 days until we meet at the Radisson:grouphug:

8 days until my vacation starts:goodvibes

5 more work days :bounce:

Time to get to work!

It's October!!! We have to clean too before we leave although since my mother and DS are going to be staying here there's no guarantee it'll still be clean when we get home!

Was cleaning last night when my best friend from childhood called. We talked for 2 hours which was great but her phone bill is going to be huge since she's in Yellowknife. She keeps asking when we are coming to visit and I keep telling her as soon as the airfare gets reasonable and she laughed. They already wake up to frost on their cars in the morning and they will have snow that stays on the ground by the end of October. Definitely a visit would be during the summer!

Just waiting for DS to catch his bus -- he has two minutes and just got out of the shower so this will be almost impossible. If not, I'll drive him and then have to pick him up for his dr's appointment. Means that I won't get into work til almost lunchtime. Not staying late tonight though as DS and I are going to see the play Chicago. Hope I can stay awake for the whole thing!

Well it appears he's missed his bus so have to get dressed and drive him so that he won't be late. So far though (knock on wood) he's been pretty good about catching the bus and I think he's only missed it 4 times which is somewhat of a record.

Take care everyone -- we leave in one week. :bounce: :bounce:

Good Morning! This will be our last Wednesday in St. Louis for a while. The countdown has really begun. One week from today we will be on the road to Florida!!

Another thing I'm stressing out about is our late seating for dinner. I remember when we went on the Wonder four years ago, we got to the dinner table and my then four year old fell asleep right at the table! :o Everything I'm reading on the boards now is saying I should have early dinner as my kids are going to fall asleep, yada, yada, yada. Bedtime for them is 9 p.m. so I think dinner at 8:30 p.m. will not be good. :( I'm also worried that the twins are not going to nap (being in a strange place) and they're going to be very crabby!!

I guess my first stop after we embark is to see if we can switch to early dinner. My father has us on a waiting list but I don't think that will help.

Any suggestions?!

Waterproof camera... I didn't think about that for the snorkeling trip and all. I always use my digital now because I rarely get to my scrapbooking and always scan my pics anyway. However, I remember that when we were in Mexico last year, those disposable, waterproof cameras really came in handy when kayaking and boogie-boarding and all. OK, one more thing to add to my list....

I bought a reusable underwater camera at Target for only $19.99, because it was recommended in another thread on this board. I used it in the pool this year, and it took really good pictures both underwater and above water. It came with a battery and a roll of Kodak film. It is yellow and says Panaramic on it. Last year, I used the Fuji disposables and was very happy with them too.

I thought I would post this in case someone wants to get an inexpensive reusable underwater camera.

I'll have to look around for an underwater camera. We don't have Target here but we do have other stores so this weekend I'll take a quick look. Just say a regular camera at The Bay for $40 so might get that. I'm not that thrilled with the pictures that my present camera takes. Some turn out great and then others turn out awful for no particular reason -- at least that I can determine.

Lisa -- keep meaning to ask -- how long of a drive is it for you? We will leave sometime next Wednesday (yeah can finally say that) afternoon and arrive sometime Friday afternoon, early evening. It's approximately a 24 hour drive which we will spread out over 2.5 days although we will do the drive home in just 2 days.

Did anyone find out the answer to the Dreams gift question?

Fiona

Fiona,

Don't know if you're in our neck of the woods (NE Pennsylvania) on Wednesday night, but email me and I would send you our phone number and we could all meet up for dinner somewhere. Also, I will be going to our Target sometime this week or weekend so if you don't find your camera at a local store, I could pick one up for you. Just let me know.

Lisa...where is St. Charles located...are you close to St. Louis...too bad I hadn't known you in June because we stayed a week in Missouri (Branson) and drove to the arch in St. Louis and to the Truman house and library in Independence so we could have hooked up!! We loved Missouri..it was our first time there and I thought I was crazy for booking a timeshare there but we really enjoyed it. Also drove to Eureka Springs, Arkansas which reminded us of Jim Thorpe, PA!!

We are not flying out until Thursday evening and will get into MCO at 11:00 p.m. so we will stay at Old Key West that evening and then do one of the parks on Friday before leaving for the Radisson. Mary Jo

Fiona, the drive down is around 18 hours. We're hoping to get 12 hours of drive time in the first day and then get to Orlando sometime Thursday afternoon. Friday we're going to Sea World.

Mary Jo, St. Charles is right next to St. Louis...just a little North. I still consider myself from St. Louis. Before we moved here we were about 15 minutes from the arch, and we're about 3 hours from Branson (Branson is nice but so crowded!).

Just realized that this is our last Wednesday of work before we HOP IN THE CAR - "DISNEY MAGIC OR BUST!"

I hope I don't get banned from the boards for my comments under the DU thread. It's just that I had to get it off my chest about the delayed documents for us. Pete replied and gave his explanation of the problem.

Key West... 85 mostly cloudy
Grand Cayman... 88 mostly cloudy
Cozumel... 84 mostly cloudy
Bahamas... 88 mostly cloudy

Well took Chris to the doctor and we now have an appointment Friday morning for more xrays and an ultrasound on the knee since it isn't any better from last week. They will then call if there's a problem. Hopefully there won't be or I'll be feeling really, really guilty for going away. Luckily taking time off to go to the doctor etc. isn't a problem.

Mary Jo -- we actually will be in Ohio Wednesday night as we will drive down the I-75. We have a great book by Dave Hunter "Along the I-75" that gives lots of tidbits along the way as well as telling you what food, lodging and gas is at every exit along the way. There's actually a plastic warehouse plant that I'd like to stop at. Have to check to see exactly where it is but it's mentioned in the book but isn't open on the weekend which is when we usually drive past.

Have to get back to work. But hopefully at this time next week I'll be leaving work!

Fiona

It's almost time!

Our flight leaves Akron/Canton at 6:30, we arrive at MCO around 11:30 pm on Thursday, we are going to spend the day Friday at Kennedy Space Center, so Josh can have some educational time before the fun starts.

We hope to be at the Radisson around 6:00 pm on Friday.
We have a lot of the packing done, Colleen has Becca everyday next week until we leave.

HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY ART & CATHY.
