Is there such a thing as budget cruelty-free makeup? I would really like to go to using only makeup that is not tested on animals. However when I looked at a list on one web-site, I have never heard of any of the brands.

Is there a makeup out there that is not tested on animals, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I'm pretty sure ELF (sold in Target) is cruelty free. Burts Bees is (lip balm etc)

Bare Escentuals is also, pricier but it's what I mostly use.

What kind of make-up specifically are you looking for (foundation, eye shadow, lipstick?)

E.L.F. is great. Check them out online. They frequently have half off sales etc. The prices are very reasonable as well and in some cases dirt cheap. I like some of their items better than others, but overall I really like the brand.

Jane, Physician's Formula and Kiss My Face also. Revlon used to claim they were but it has been determined they conduct third party animal testing.

It depends on how far you want to go. Although a "brand" might be cruelty free, often times their parent company is not.....for a truly cruelty free line, I recommend lush. Goggle the name and you'll get their link, they are global.

I love tarte cosmetics. They are more expensive than drugstore brands but the quality is amazing.

I use Lush for all my bath and body products. They are a bit pricy, but you can often order from their UK site and pay less (with international shipping) than you would for the same products in a US store. For makeup, I buy Pixi. They and their suppliers do not test on animals. You can buy it at Target or online. They always have coupon codes floating around.

Good tip! I just ordered from UK, and saved $35 off US price!

Thanks for all of the great suggestions!:)

I wanted to let you know that ELF on line is having a 50% off sale on beauty must-haves through the 18th. You have to spend a minimum of $25, but that shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks again!
