Ok.CRT is available a few days we are going in August.. If we book it we are going to have to drop our lunch at Le Cellier.. to keep dining points =. Is it worth 2 dining points?? My daughter wants to eat with princesses.. Norway doesnt look good...we have a ADR at 1900 Park Fare dinner but I know its just Cinderella.. ugh not sure what I should do.:confused3

If you haven't done it, then yes. Eating in the castle is magical. The princesses give lots of attention. I believe now you get a free photopass picture. (We received one with Belle in Norway.) I also believe the tip is included.

We don't go every year, maybe every 2-3 trips.

This trip, I want to try Hoop Dee Doo. Since I can't book cat 1 on points, I'm paying cash. I'm using the 2 points for b/fast in the castle. I asked my 12 yo if she'd rather eat a nice lobster dinner (her fav), in the GF or have b/fast in the castle. She chose the castle.

The food is decent but you pay for the atmosphere, all the pricesses being there in one place ..and, of course, the experience of dining in the castle. Definitely have to do it at least once. :thumbsup2

No. It's worth going to but don't use your dining credits there. Remember it costs 2 credits so to be worth using it needs to be twice as expensive as your other meals. If you are deciding which meals to pay for out of pocket and which to use the dining plan for, this one should be out of pocket probably.

We ate there twice. We were underwhelmed both times. We just weren't that impressed to justify the two table credits. Yes, it was neat to say you ate in the castle, but again, it just wasn't all that wonderful that it was worthy of using up two credits (for us anyway).

My daughter actually liked Akershus better than CRT on both of the trips--and still does. The food at Norway is actually very good. The cold bar was yummy and every entree I've had there has been great! You have a castle feel in Norway and you get to see plenty of princesses. Also, there is photos included w/ your Akershus meal too (as there is at CRT too).
For us, we prefer to eat at Akershus.

Also, we loved 1900 PF. Such great character interaction!!!!!! The food was yummy too. My daughters both prefer Akerhsus and 1900 PF to CRT. However, you will find others that will have say differently.

If your daughter is truly set on eating at the castle, though, I would consider doing it. What isn't so great for one family may end up being a treasure for another family. You'll never know until you try it!

We went during Free Dining one year so I didn't feel so bad using the two credits. Yes...it is nice to be able to do it once but not really worth the price. We did breakfast. Food was just so-so and the princesses seemed a little rushed. I'm glad I got to do it but if it was not during free dining I would have been disappointed.

Most people feel after doing the math that CRT is a waste of DDP credits...i.e. if it's in the budget, it's a better use of credits and $ to pay for CRT out of pocket.

That being said- it is AWESOME as far as experiences go and I certainly recommend doing it. I just wouldn't burn DDP credits on it.

I have to agree with these posters. We've done it twice now (though the first time might be a fluke) and won't be going back. Food was ok to bad and we felt like we rushed through our time there. The princesses seemed really rushed too.

Our family loves 1900 Park Fare for dinner. The step-sisters are a riot. The Akerhaus Princess breakfast is another favorite. We like both much better than CRT.

You felt rushed? Hard for me personally to imagine that. Both times we have eaten there (both dinner) we were there for 100 minutes and 120 minutes and never once felt rushed. In fact we were encouraged to stick around longer to enjoy it.

We felt it was well worth the two credits. Our daughter, age 5, loved the princesses and we all thought lunch in the castle was very special. We did not feel rushed. In fact, I didn't care for my entree and our server asked if I wanted something else and brought me a different selection. The princesses were awesome.

Also, we felt it was a time-saver to see all those princesses at once and not have to wait in line to see them later. That left us more time for other attractions since DD had her princess fix! princess:

Have fun whatever you decide!!

For the experience I will say absolutely but for the food it's a big fat no. That being said, my dh has decided that we will bring the girls again, although we really don't like the food, this coming May because their expression is priceless. Can you tell daddy will do anything for his girls. Eating in the castle is something that every little girl dreams about.

With a princess loving dd the castle is worth it. My dd couldn't really sit through a le cellier meal anyway. There is no way around the fact that CRT is overpriced. But you're paying for the experience and if your at mk for the day it is very convenient. As for akershus, we had dinner there once last year and found the food good. I had salmon that I liked. It is a good value for dinner for one ts credit as we even got a nice photo included. And there were so many princesses. If your dd really loves princesses try it for a day you are at epcot.

Yes we did, both times. The princesses hardly stood still for pictures before they were off to the next table. There was little to no interaction with them at all. Like I said, I thought the first time was a fluke and was willing to go again. After our second experience was the same as the first we decided it wasn't worth going back. While I know that the princesses can't spend an unlimited amount of time with every guest, they were moving off almost before I snapped a picture. The first time the food was just ok, the second time it wasn't good at all. The first time our server was good, second time, we hardly saw her. We had a completely different experience at 1900 Park Fare and the Akershaus Princess breakfast and do both of those meals every trip.

From reading these boards I know I'm not the only one who has had this experience at CRT. I also know there are others out there that have never had a bad experience there. I just think if someone has never gone, they should hear the good and the bad and make an informed decision. I personally don't think it's worth the money or the 2 dining credits based on my experience there. Others don't care as long as they eat in the castle.

No, its not. The last time we went, we felt rushed and our server could have cared less about us. I really feel its about turning tables over ahead of service. I work in the service industry and would never go back. We have always enjoyed Norways Princess Breakfast more, better value all around! I would not cancel Le Cellier for Cindy's.

I'm not questioning your statement. Just surprised that people felt rushed when we felt the exact opposite on our trips. In fact the first time we kind of got a questioning look when we got up to leave after an hour and 40 minutes because we seemed to be the only ones. I felt like we were like the people who leave during the 8th inning of a baseball game to beat the traffic.

If you are rushed it is not worth it. The food is just ok but our favorite part was our long talks with the princesses. We talked to Ariel about how exactly it was that she was a princess and what it's like under water and so on. Without that it wouldn't be fun.

I say yes. We went for breakfast the last time we were there (Dec. 2010) and we're going again in September. We didn't feel rushed at all, and our server was attentive. And that might have been because we were in the first seating that morning (8:05 reservations). If you think about it in terms of one credit for a TS meal and another credit for the photo package and eating in the castle, it might soften the blow a little bit, lol. I've also heard that breakfast is the best meal there anyway, as opposed to lunch or dinner. HTH, Enjoy your trip!!

We're eating here for the first time in October b/c DMom (of all people, lol) wants to try it. The way that I did the math for myself was dividing the price of dinner by two (55/2= $27.50). So, I'm just thinking of it as using 2 dining credits for $27.50 each. I personally don't think it will be worth 2 dining credits, but I want to make DMom happy & I'm always up for trying something different at Disney.

We have done the castle dinner several times but now that they have changed the menu and removed the yummy prime rib and salmon :headache: , it is not worth the extra points or money for us :rolleyes1
