CRT vs. Akershus

So we booked our "last minute" trip for December 3rd...and I've been struggling with dining reservations - shocking!

BUT - I was able to get 3 great times for CRT throughout the week...changed our reservation 3 times! Ended up with an 8:30 am which I was THRILLED about.

I can NOT for the life of me get ANY openings at Akershus for breakfast - at all.

Any idea why CRT has been so relatively easy to get into while Akershus is booked solid?

is one TS credit vs 2 for CRT and a lot of people prefer only the breakfast at Askerhus as it's more traditional. I actually prefer lunch at CRT and the addition of characters at dinner has opened up more slots for people seeking princesses.

Keep trying for Norway. Sometimes around 45 days before slots open up. That's when the final payment is due for packages. And sometimes people just rethink their ADRs. You see threads like that all of the time.

My only thought is the reason we do Akershus over CRT, we don't want to use 2 TS credits on 1 meal. Don't get me wrong, DD would love to eat in the castle, I'm sure. (Not sure she knows that it's an option! )But we just can't justify using 2 TS when she can get her "princess fix" at Akershus. Plus, she is so excited she barely eats anything anyways so it would be wasting food from her stand point. (She wastes food at Akershus too but at least its only 1 TS! ) That's my thoughts anyways!

I agree with the other PPs that say it is because Akershus is a 1 credit while CRT is a 2 credit meal. In my own personal opinion, we love Akershus much better than we love CRT. The food and character interaction is much better than at CRT, however the atmosphere at CRT is top notch. Be happy that you got such a great time for CRT and just keep checking the online dining or calling Disney dining, something will bound to open up. Plus, it may be that if you are looking for a particular time, like before park opens, it may be harder, but if you try for a later breakfast seating there may be more openings. Good luck.

Consider your self lucky!!! )) We are going 12/7-12/17 and the only CRT that they had was a 9:20 breakfast. I really wanted a lunch or dinner. But I will keep trying with you. Hopefully people will cancel soon!!!!!

That's funny...I couldn't find any lunch or dinner either when I was looking. Weird. And doubly weird that I got an 8:30 breakfast. But NOTHING...NOT A THING for Akershus breakfast.

I have checked every night for the past week and finally got a breakfast ressie for CRT. My other time was late at night but I was worried about my DD's mood by 8:10 if she hadn't had dinner yet. Last time we went to DW, I had several ressie's for CRT and then cancelled 2 before we left once I had my days better planned, so just keep checking consistently because they do open up. I love that you can go online to check and don't have to take the time to call each day.
