recently got back from Disney world and we had an interesting experience at CRT. We have been to CRT many times. It's not my favorite, but who can resist dinning in the castle. Anyway, I always feel is a rush meal and not the best interaction (we like the process meal at Epcot more).... But we usually always go back to CRT.
So this year our experience started off pretty good. We did breakfast at 8:20am and arrived a few mins early. The restaurant was not as crowded as it usually feels to us. There really wasn't even much of a wait to meet Cinderella. Our first server seated us.. He was friendly and had a sarcastic sense of humor. I liked him.
When he went to take the orders for our kids, he explained that my 2yr old would not be getting a meal, but she would get a Mickey waffle. We usually have one kid 2 or under with us... I'm fine with them sharing my plate, because that's what they usually do anyway. Other times we have ate at the castle they have also provided a little something for the kids (waffles or pasta), which is always nice.
After our food came out we had a new server. She said the other server had gotten is started for her but she would be taking over. She asked if we needed anything else... I politely let her know that my daughter did not receive her Mickey waffle. She actually started to yell at me... Going off That I didn't pay for a meal for my daughter and she would not be receiving anything! It caught me a little off guard. Her response was completely rude. I told her that was fine, I was only asking because the other server told us he would be bringing one out for her... She acted completely disgusted with me and said a few other rude comments. I did not want to "engage" her and just change the subject.
The rest of the meal she only came over to basically encourage us to leave. (We in no way even tried to bother her... It was clear she was having a bad day). even though we still hadn't seen all of the princesses... She still was trying to rush us out of the restaurant. I know CRT is a popular choice, but this was really uncalled for. The restaurant was not even that full at the time.
Our first server did continue to check on us (I think he even thought she was rude). He brought us a few things like creamer, which she would not. So I'm glad we at least had him there...but I feel bad that he was taking care of more than he should...
Despite our service... The food was the best we've ever had there. I really enjoyed the breakfast meal. My kids always love going to the castle. It truly is so pretty inside the building.
I'm thinking my server was just having a bad day and we happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. However I won't be going back to CRT.
I never expected special "extras" and would have never asked for anything for my daughter had our first server not offered it. I cannot understand why The waitress/server was so condescending and rude over a waffle. I know it's hard to work with the public... And I realize it was coming off a very busy few weeks, but I still expect more. Our service at red lobster that week was 1000 times better than what we received at CRT.

Really shocked that this happened at CRT! We have always had good service there. That is totally unacceptable behavior, even if you are having a bad day. We are talking about a Mickey waffle for a child, it should not be a big deal, whether it is "allowed" or not. Especially, after you mentioned the waiter had offered, she should have said she would check with him, and honored it, even if she mentions politely that this is not usually the policy. I cannot believe that any adult would yell and refuse to bring a two yr. old food. I was a waitress, and besides being raised to be polite, you were trained that the customer is always right, and if there is a question about an item, you say you will check on it, and if the customer is not satisfied, than you can offer to get a manager. Besides that you are normally working to get the best tips, so you go over and above to provide anything the table needs if possible. I hope Disney responds to you, and actually looks into it, because even on a bad day, this is probably not the job for her. It reminds me of a couple Undercover Boss episodes, when employees were so rude or inappropriate that the boss had to break cover to speak to them, and on most occasions let them go, since that is not the way they wanted their company represented.
