CRT reservation, is this acceptable?

For our upcoming June trip the only ADR I will be really bothered about not getting is CRT breakfast as it’s our GD‘s first trip and she adores Cinderella. We have a split stay booked 8 days, followed by 7. Our day of choice would be our last day at WDW, but would it be acceptable to book the 8th day of our 1st resort day first as a back up and then when the ADRs open the following week for our 2nd resort stay try to get the last day and if successful cancel the original one? I wouldn’t usually hoard ADRs, but it’s only for a short time and we may end up keeping it anyway.

Anyone had success at booking for a party of 7 at CRT at 60+7 or 8, is it an impossible task?

Many thanks.

I wouldn't consider that strategy hoarding - I'd consider it very smart. It's an excellent idea.
Heartily agreed.

We generally have better luck there checking by specific time, the earliest your family can drag out, the better.

By June, the usual Princesses may have returned, and you get more time with each by booking a very early breakfast.

DH loves breakfast there, so I speak from much experience. He says it's the food. Uh-huh. 😁

remember CTR is prepaid so you will have 2 charges until the dropped one is returned to your card

Oh yes, I’d forgotten about the upfront cost. Is it the whole cost or just a deposit?

Fingers crossed for the return of all the princesses!

We got 60+7 for our family of 7 for crt for mid May with no problem. Also got Ohana, bog, chef mickeys and space 220, all for 7 people. Only thing I wanted but can’t get is Sci fi.

As it’s a special treat for your GD, perhaps you could just book for a smaller group, maybe just you and GD, or GPs and GD etc.? Then use the money you save for another treat and get a family photograph with another Princess. Thinking aloud as no one seems to say good things about the food at CRT and it seems a lot to pay for 7 people for poor food.

I think sci fi can’t accommodate a party of more than 6 in the cars

We’ve had lunch & dinner several times & we think the food is very good. Also, for a special birthday meal, in Cinderella’s Castle, I think the parents would want to be there. Parents would be before grandparents IMO.

We got 60+6 at CRT for 7. It was a dinner reservation and all we could get was 4:15. I didn't look at breakfast because we wanted to do dinner.

For those who have been looking recently and it sounds like some in the group would fall in the category, all the in-park restaurants had issues w/reservations being held back from June 12 (earlier in some cases) on. They still had last year's hours listed so it made evening availability pretty much non-existent. That was fixed this morning for all parks (MK a couple of days ago) so if you are still looking for your reservations take another look today.
