I know this is a silly question, but I really know very little about Cinderella's Royal Table. I know that it's a character meal, but that's about it. Is this something you do mainly if you have kids? The reason I ask is this: I am going to WDW on my honeymoon in June, and I thought it would be fun to eat at the castle. I was thinking of making an ADR for lunchtime. I'm not sure if they do they character meal for lunch, or if it's just regular (actually, I don't even really know what a character meal is, so if someone could explain...). But I don't think it would matter if it's a character meal or not. I'm just looking for somewhere fun for us to eat at MK. Any thoughts are very welcome. Thanks!

First a character meal is when there are character's present. The castle is Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Jasmin & Alladin (I think) they are subject to change though. The castle used to be just a character meal at breakfast time, but I think it is changing so they are going to be a character meal at lunch also starting Feb 1. Character meals are fun, you should do it. We like to eat at the Crystal Palace, it is a buffet and I think the breakfast is really Yummy. The characters there are winnie the pooh & friends. They are there for breakfast, lunch & dinner. I hope this helps

We ate there last year for dinner - YUM - there weren't any characters at the time, maybe that's changed. I'd definitely recommend it, kids or not.

If it is romance you want, go at night during the fireworks. It is spectacular. Breakfast is so much fun. Meeting characters is a great "Disney" thing to do, with or without kids. I say do it. The food is really good too.

My Dh and I just did lunch at CRT. Cinderella was there but only in the lobby for pics. Then there was mary poppins, fairy godmother, belle, and I think one other. They walked around to the tables for pics. I liked the character interaction. The food was good. Glad we were on the dining plan. Disappointed about cinderalla not walking around the dining room though. There were lots of other couples without kids in there, no need to worry about that. :goodvibes

Just did lunch at CRT and met Cinderella before lunch (photo opp in lobby; I too was disappointed that she did not walk around the restaurant upstairs). Then during your lunch, Fairy Godmother, Belle, Snow White, Aurora, and MAry Poppins stop by each table to chat, sign autographs, and take pictures with you. I was there with my hubby, parents, and our 4 yr old son, 6 yr old daughter, but there were plenty of people there without kids. We loved it. The food was pretty good, the service was great, and the character interaction was fun. The restaurant itself is very pretty as well.

We ate Lunch and Dinner at the Castle last week.
Lunch has the characters who are very fun. The food is good but has less choices than at Dinner.

Dinner has no characters, but Cinderella was in the lobby by chance. I have a great picture of my some trying to "Pick up" Cinderalla. The food variaty is better at Dinner and the mood is more romantic (unless you have a 4 and a 1 year old with you :rotfl: ).

I would go with my wife and leave the kids if I could  , but the wife will not let

Things are changing at CRT....

Next June CRT dinner will be "hosted" by the Fairy Godmother who will help celebrate special occasions.

Oh, and the price will double.

Oh, and you get a "limited edition" lithograph.

For all the updates, see Allearsnet.com here:

And let's not forget that the menu is changing to a Set selection. Now what exactly that set selection is.....I have not seen anything on that.

For the price that it is going to be, around 40.00 per adult and 20 something for kids, we will not be going back, if they are still doing a set menu when we go. Sorry, but a picture and a litograph, doesn't tempt me to eat there for the cost it will be for our family.

Also, if you are going and will have the dining plan, CRT will become a signature dining option and will be costing you 2TS credits, instead of the 1TS is is now.

All in all, these are not good changes, for our family. Does nothing to entice us back to dine.
