I know Disney is all about being young at heart but I was wondering if the character meals are more of a kids only thing. I would like to eat at CRT and CM'S, but will me and my boyfriend be out of place there?

You absolutely will not be out of place at a character meal! Last time I was at WDW (August 2006), I saw plenty of "adults only" tables at character meals. The key is to just shed your inhibitions -- if you want autographs or photos or hugs from characters, go for it! If you can't embrace your inner (or outer...) child at WDW, where can you?

I am a huge fan of the character meals. For my birthday weekend, I am hitting LLT (before MNSSHP) for dinner and going to CP for breakfast on another day. I always think I am too cool for the characters but then I see Mickey and I melt. I don't see a person in a costume, I see Mickey. :)

character meals are the best when it's just me and DH!!

no pesky kids to take pictures of!!!

(seriously - we've done a lot of character meals, and have always enjoyed them immensely - sometimes the characters don't spend as much time by our tables, but that's ok - we're really just there to have the experience, watch the "show" going on around us, and eat!)

I have only ever traveled with just adults and we love to toss a character meal in the mix. We usually pick the place more for the food choices or location, and the characters are just a plus. We try not to take up much of the characters time (leaving more for the kiddos) and just take a quick picture and go back to our meals! It helps us get a few character photos in without waiting in line, plus I like watching the interaction of some of the other families nearby with the characters. Makes gread dinner entertainment! :goodvibes

Last September I was 22 and my DBF was 26. We went to Cinderella's Royal Table AND Liberty Tree Tavern while we were there and had a great time! CRT was one of the best meals we had and DBF asked to eat there again for our upcoming trip in Sept.

At LTT the characters still came around and spent time with us, probably because we were both really excited to see them come around. DBF was dressed like a vampire for MNSSHP and goofy kept coming by to "bite" him on the neck! Made for some good pictures too.

So I guess my point is, go and enjoy the meals! They're not just for kids.

Go for it! Me and bf have 3 character meals planned for our trip (Crystal Palace, Akershus, Chef Mickey's) and i've done several before at both WDW and DLP which were awesome. The characters can interact differently with you than with the kids and it's really good fun :goodvibes
