Myself, DH and DS2 will be in Disney the first week in December. We were planning on doing dinner at CRT one night and MVMCP on another night; however, we are trying to cut costs, and those are two very expensive things. Which would you cut and why?

Thanks!

I think you should pick MVMCP. We have only been to CRT, but once was enough for us. We are going to our first MVMCP December 10 and are really excited.

I agree with the above. You get to meet a lot of princesses at CRT but the food and atmosphere isn't the best. I would go to Akershus for princesses before doing CRT again (though we did both). MVMCP is longer and more to see and do.

If you're going to CRT to meet princesses, don't forget about the new Princess meet-n-greet in Fantasyland!! I would much rather do MVMCP! You're there for the holidays, why not do the most festive of festivities!! There will always be other times for CRT, but only a couple months for MVMCP which are on select days.

We'll be there from Nov 29th-December 8th!

Hmm... is your DS 2 years old?

Will he stay up late for the Christmas Party?

Does he care about Princesses?

Honestly, with a 2-year-old, I wouldn't do either. But that's me. If your son can handle the late night (my 4-year-old couldn't), then do the Christmas Party.

CRT for sure. Way overpriced.
I also agree with previous poster to skip both to save money because will your 2yr old be able to stay awake for the party?

Based on have had 2 DDs I wouldn't do either at that age. Too young. Maybe at 4yo at the youngest.

Our two-year-old will stay up. He may not make it through the whole party, but he can stay up late! We have two over 18 kids and they were never able to stay up at age 2, but this one is different. If we do MVMCP, I'm planning on putting him down for a late nap. Every time I put him down past 2 or 3 at home, he ends up not wanting to sleep at his usual bedtime of 9:00 to 9:30. I've noticed that he will stay awake for at least seven hours after waking or after a nap, so I figure if I put him down a little later, say 3:00 and he sleeps for an hour and a half, he will make it through the party. He's not real into princesses, but he does talk about the castle a lot. Maybe we will hold off on that until later. Is Askershus a castle, too?

I was gonna say that! But if your son can stay up, go for the party. We do CRT maybe every other trip. It is cute but not great and honestly there is nothing really in the castle. You walk up a flight of stairs to a restaurant. Its not "now we are in a castle" if that makes sense. You could just walk through the castle breezeway and he could be happy.

I'd cut CRT. To me, there is plenty that the little one will enjoy at the party - especially the parade, and the fireworks and character meet and greets are also likely to be popular.

If the little one is the type to sleep in the stroller, you can continue to enjoy the party, even if he conks out.

CRT is nice, but we only do it every other trip or so. I don't think your little one will get as much out of it.

Same. We finally did CRT last trip and it was a nice experience, but I would not pay OOP for it (we used dining credits). I would not trade a 5 hour special event for an hour meal. Plus, as others have said, you can do CRT on any trip, but MVMCP can only be done two months out of the year.
