I can't speak comparatively, as we've never eaten at CRT. But the food at 1900 is slightly below Atlantic City casino buffet quality. I'd call it a little bit below average. It looks good, but it's all starch and salt.
I have done the buffet 4 times and have enjoyed it everytime. Love the primerib and mashed potatoes and bread pudding my fav sessert. My DH likes it here as well ( he does not like Crystal Palace buffet).Kids have a good time. Very entertaining and fun.
CRT we have done for breakfast for our first trip so it was fabulous to us. Two years ago we did it with extended family for dinner and everyone had mixed views. I enjoyed my pork, my SIL hated her pasta dish. My DH said his primerib was OK. We had a special dessert for SIL graduatiing college, so that was her highlite. Would not rush to go back, maybe someday.
So I think CRT everyone should try it for the atmosphere alone, if you want to use your DDP plan ther, Ie would not pay OOP for it.
I have never eatten at dinner at CRT but have had lunch and it was good. I have had dinner at 1900 Park Fare and is is terrible! I loved the characters at 1900 but that was about it! I think if you haven't ever been to the castle, you need to go at least once! I've been for lunch and breakfast and would go back again if I could get an ADR!
