Our family of 8 is going to Disney world for our 1st visit 11/27-12/2. We have 2 rooms booked at POP with quick serice dp. I have 2 reservations for 4 at the same time @ CRT. I booked them using my CC. Prior to making our reservations I was told I could call back and upgrade to the DDP for 1 room and use the 10 adult and 10 child TS credits for everyone's CRT meal. After talking to a resort CM, dining CM and guest services today it appears I was misinformed. They said it would be up to the restaurant but had no contact phone number for me to call to ask. Has anyone successfully shared credits at CRT?

It doesn't really work that way. You have to have a dining plan for each member of your family. You're probably better off just paying OOP for that one meal anyway.

As far as I know, you could do that. When the changes were made to the dining plan last year I seem to recall that one of the changes was that people could use their credits to pay for other people. Though I doubt it would be good value for money.

I haven't personally done this, but I agree with the PP that when they made some recent changes one of them was that you could use your meals to pay for people that weren't on the dining plan. Whether or not adding the DDP to do this or even if adding it and using all (?) of the meals for that one meal makes financial sense is another issue.

I though that CRT was 2 credits per person, so that would mean you should need 16 credits total for your 8 people, as long as all are 3+.

Now, I have not done a dining plan as it has never worked in my favor yet, but I do research a bit. Below may not be accurate, but I would think:

Each Disney Adult (10+) would need 2 Adult TS credits and each Disney Child (3-9) would need 2 Child TS credits. You might be able to use the Adult TS credits for a Disney Child (3-9), but you would not be able to use a Child TS credit for a Disney Adult (10+). (Not sure if using an Adult TS for a child TS is very economical though.)

Assuming you would be paying for 2A 2C, there is absolutely no value in doing this vs. OOP. You would be overpaying by A LOT to upgrade the dining plan for this one meal.

Some on here have recently reported success in pooling credits from one another's room reservation and it now being allowed. But I've yet to see a written policy permitting it. I know for a fact it wasn't allowed for years.

You can try to go on the advice of the first CM and give the CRT waiter (1) DDP MB to cover the entire table. Again, there's no guarantee he/she will allow it.

But *first* you would need to ask the waiter to refund your entire party's pre-paid back to your CC, then re-run the tab to your MB. I've had it done before, not a big deal.

Assuming you have a party of (4) A & (4) C - CRT will require (2) credits each, so (8) adult TS (8) child TS credits.
