i logged in and also had them retrieve our resort ressie. i thought that it said if you're on the dining plan it just takes your cc as a hold, but it said we had to give payment in full and it charged our card. any idea what's up with that?

do you think if i call them later today they can switch it to a cc hold instead of a payment without losing the ADR?

The online system is buggy.

They can't just change it to dining plan. But, if there is availability at the same time (or within a few minutes), they can book a new ADR for you, and not charge your credit card for it, and then cancel and refund your original ADR. Don't let them cancel the first ADR until after you book the new one.

If there isn't availability for a new ADR, then you can show up at CRT for your meal, and tell them you have the dining plan, but your credit card was charged. They'll refund your credit card then and take the dining credits. So, it'll be OK either way.

This bug has happened so frequently lately, it needs one of those "canned" responses.

Yup, online bug. The dining reservations are not properly picking up on the dining plan associated with the resort reservation. More than likely, the Dining Reservations system is not even picking up the Resort Reservations at all (which also accounts for CRT and Dinner Shows not being able to do 180+10 online for many people).

In your situation, you can try to call and rebook on the phone (where the CM can hand enter the dining plan), but it all depends on availability. Alternatively, if you are ok with letting the charge sit on your card, you can do as mentioned above and get refunded at the time of dining.

I do have this noted in both my Dining Reservations Tutorial as well as the 190 Day glitch thread, but you may have to dig some to find my last summary there (I think it's around pg 20, though not entirely sure). (And, no, not calling you out on this :p, I wouldn't expect anyone to read though either of them unless looking for something specific related to those titles, just a future reference for those others looking on this thread and wondering the same thing).

This also happened to me today, but on the phone!
The cm said that it didn't look like I had the dining plan on my reservation, even though I have. I offered to email a screen shot of my booking page which shows that I have purchased the plan, but she said sorry, no can do, you will have to pay the full price today.
Well seeing as my ressie was for 7pm on Christmas Day evening, I didn't want to risk not getting it, but I'm a little annoyed that I have had to pay $163 for a meal that I won't be eating for 6 months especially since I have paid for the dining plan also grrrrr :sad1:
