I am thinking of trying to book Cindy's Royal Table for Lunch and specifically to surprise my daughter for her 10th bday meal. If I read correctly online, CIndy and some other princesses do show up, right? What about the food - opinions? Would this be a difficult ADR to get?

We tried CRT breakfast 2yrs ago, and wasn't that impressed, and I didn't want to do dinner there as the menu doesn't sound appealing.

CRT is always going to be difficult to get in--for all meals. We've had b/fast & lunch there. We LOVED the b/fast, but only enjoyed lunch because of the atmosphere. We really weren't impressed with the food. But, since you didn't like b/fast--maybe our tastes are completely opposite! ;)

Cindy is in the waiting area, as usual. We had these princesses at lunch: Jasmine; Snow White; Belle; Fairy Godmother; but sadly, not Aurora (DD's fave.) :sad2: They did all the same routines as b/fast (wishing star, wand, etc...) Whether or not you enjoy the food, you can't beat the setting! :thumbsup2

We had breakfast there (really liked it), then lunch the next trip. I also didn't care for the food at lunch.

This "chef's tasting", which everyone gets, was sorta weird. It had a bunch of artichoke salad, a couple pieces of bruschetta (we already ate!), some salami, cheese cubes, and grapes.

My mom had this sandwich...

which she said was good, but the one at Sunshine Seasons was better.

Here was the kid's meal...

And I had Major Domo's Favorite pie...

Looks good, right? It was tasty, but that yellow sauce was SOO garlicky to the point it was gross as I kept eating it.

We won't probably go to lunch again, but I would do breakfast or dinner on a future trip. BTW, lunch is the same set-up with Cindy and the other princesses as breakfast.

I guess it depends on your tastes. We had lunch there back in August and loved it! We devoured the appy plate in about 2 seconds flat although the table next to us didn't touch it. To us it was just fruit, salami, cheese, chicken and salad. DMom and I had the Major Domo's favorite pie which we loved. :lovestruc The kids had the hot dog meal and the salmon meal. Dessert was decent. Chocolate buckle for me and mom, vanilla ice cream with crown for DD and berry sorbet for DS.

Our princesses were Cinderella, Belle, Aurora, Jasmine and Snow White. princess:

Here are a few more pics for you:
The table done nice for DMom's birthday

Thanks!

May I ask what makes up Major Domo's pie?

Here's the allears description:
shredded beef simmered in rich cabernet sauce, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables, crowning a light pastry

I will agree that the yellow sauce was garlicky. The way it was served to us though, it really wasn't on the meat or veggies which may have made a difference. :confused3

I guess it all depends on your tastes. We had lunch there and I wasn't expecting much because of all the reviews I had read, but we were there for the atmosphere. Well, we ended up thinking the food was delicious. Dh and I both had the Major Domo pie and the kids had hot dogs.

Like you, we've done the breakfast and didn't really like the food (it was too greasy and not healthy enough for our tastes). Also there were no choices to make (I've heard since that there is a granola option -- still not that healthy and I'm not paying $40 for a cereal).

We're trying the lunch this time for our DD's bday. The dinner doesn't have the princesses that they have at breakfast and lunch, so that was out.

The lunch menu looks decent. At least there's a choice for each person, instead of the all-you-can-eat family breakfast.

We really go to CRT for the atmosphere, so if it's not a stellar meal, we'll be fine with it (we'd do the breakfast again if that was our only option).

I've ordered a special Cinderalla's Slipper dessert for my DD's birthday, so even if the meal isn't perfect, there will be a surprise at the end. And eating in the castle is a tradition for us, so we couldn't just skip it. Hopefully the lunch will be great!:)

Smallworld71 I read on allears that the dessert was blueberry buckle during lunch and the menu was updated in August 08, so i'm wondering if either they were out that day or if its been changed before or after you went
anyone else been after this? I would probably prefer the chocolate buckle but don't want to get too excited :rotfl:

I noticed that about the buckle, too. Dinner was chocolate, lunch was blueberry. It would be nice to have a choice!:)

CRT is a tradition for our family ...we always go.

But we usually end up with a 4p "first dinner" reservation. In the past....when we would go for lunch...the lunch and dinner menu were the same...so obviously this has changed.

As with others...it's the "Whole Atmosphere" that we are paying for....however I must say...the family really did enjoy the dinner food - taste/wise....in July 2008. I loved the prime rib....Even picky DD loved the lavendar chicken...enough to look it up online for the recipe when she got back home.

CRT is THE most difficult reservations to get....so call early!

Have fun,
Mary

We did lunch for the first time last year and wasn't expecting much but we loved it. It was a little chaotic in the entrance where they take Cindy pics but it went very quickly and we were called within 10 minutes for our ADR. We thought lunch was very good and the princess interaction was wonderful. We did dinner a couple of times and would definitely pick lunch over dinner from now on. At lunch they do a little ceremony with a wishing star that my dd just loved.
