CRT for the food and location?

Hi,

A quick question: I asked DH to look through some restaurant descriptions before I settled on what ADRs I want (he knows NOTHING about Disney; I'm the researcher), and he immediately said he wanted to try CRT (has no idea this is the hardest ADR to get! ). Anyway, I don't mind a challenge, but his reasoning is that he thinks the food looks good. We have three little boys who are princess-phobic (anything pink and they run screaming ), so it's not for the princesses. They boys will enjoy being in the castle, and who knows, maybe the littlest one will enjoy the princesses, but it's mostly for the food. I've heard mixed reviews. Is it worth the effort (and the dining plan credits) to eat there?

I’m kinda in the same boat. My DD15 wants to eat at the castle, but the menu really doesn’t appeal to anyone else. We’re going to do it anyway just for the experience. If I were you I would do lunch instead of a dinner there. I’ve heard that at lunch the boys get toy swords. That’s the only consolation for my DS5 who is also a princess phobic.

Most do NOT eat there for the food, especially the breakfast food. Most eat there for the atmosphere and the princesses.

It is worth it if you've never eaten there, to try it once, but I don't think it's worth it anymore, unfortnately. You will get many different opinions though.

It's great to try it once so maybe you should go for it since your DH is excited about it!

We ate dinner at CRT in May 2004. Everyone LOVED their meals- 4 adults, 3 kids, but that was when they had a regular menu. At the fixed menu price they are charging now for dinner, I have to think twice. That said, when we were there, we were seated right around the start of the castle stage show and we got to see Peter Pan being chased by Captain Hook around the turrets of the castle. That was cool. The atmosphere of the castle just felt magical too. If the food appeals to you and you don't mind spending the $$$ IMO it's worth it to do at least once because it is quite an experience to eat in the castle. At dinner you won't have to worry about any princesses mingling around (except for the photo part) as they're only there at Breakfast and Lunch.
