I have seen most people talk about CRT for breakfat or lunch but none for dinner. Has anyone tried dinner and can comment on it? I booked 6/29 for dinner and not sure what to expect, in fact it will be our first time at CRT! Can someone please give feedback? Thanks. On another note, same as most people, could not get Le Cellier for most of the trip except on the last day, day we have planned for Seaworld. everything was completely booked.

I did it last year for my sons 8th birthday....we were very disappointed!!! The service was aweful!! we had to wait a good 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us...Normally, you sit back and relax but for the money you are spending you would expect better service...Now the food... it was gross....the little dinner show with the mice and godmother was lame...and from where we were sitting we couldn't see half of it anyway. The castle is very cool and the atmosphere is what you are paying for....never again for me....we did breakfast a few years back and loved that....enjoy your trip!!!;)

Let me ask you, is there a "dress code " of some sort for the dinner? We will be doing ot on a MNSSHP night and will be in costume for the party that night, our ressie is at 6:00 I believe. You said the food was gross, do you remember what they had? Did it not taste good or just looked nasty? We are doing this for daughters b-day also.

We only go to CRT for dinner. It is a must do every trip. Service has always been wonderful. We love the pretzels rolls, crab and corn soup and the chocolate buckle. Yummy. Dress code is park attire.

We have only done bfast and lunch and I think alot of people only do those b/c the princesses are not at dinner. I just wanted to make you aware of that in case you didn't know. Only the Fairy Godmother is at dinner.

Have a fun trip!

Now I'm unsure of what to do, we booked this for dinner the night of MNSSHP as well. I thought it would be a nice way to start the evening. Hearing that the food was gross doesn't sit too well with me. Now I'm trying to decide between keeping this one or eating at The Wave instead!

Oh boy, I didnt know the princesses were not there at dinner! Darn that stinks! Oh well, I guess we will enjoy the atmosphere at least, besides, daughter will be turning 12 and I suspect she wanted to go to this more to please us than to really see the princesses. Keeping my fingers crossed that the food wont be TOO horrible.

We were there last year and we thought the food was fine. DH and I both had the prime rib, which was cooked to perfection.

The show is nothing to write home about. You get to take a picture with Cinderella downstairs and the photo package as well as gratuities are included in the price of the meal.

We do dinner every trip we go on because it's my FIL favorite. No, the princesses aren't there, but you do get a free pic with Cinderella while you wait to be seated. She will also sign autographs. With the pic they give you a card that has signatures from the mice and the Fairy Godmother who do a cute little show while you're eating. Last time my son loved the mice so much they kept coming back to our table to get kisses from him!

The food is not the best I've ever had in the park, but it certainly isn't the worst. An appetizer, entree, dessert and drink are in the meal and with the exception of some pretty dry pasta one year, we haven't left disappointed. I think just eating in the castle is an experience, no matter what time of day you go, and am looking forward to going back.

My daughter and I are going 10/1 right before the Halloween party. We will both be in costume. She's going in Cinderella's pink and I'm going as the Fairy Godmother. I doubt they'll confuse me for the real thing though, as my glasses are a dead giveaway.....

We did this once before, although not before a party. We have also done breakfast and lunch. We prefer B & L just because of the extra princess exposure. Dinner is different, and magical in its own way. But who am I kidding, I sing along when they do the little show......

Be sure you know going in that the mice and Fairy Godmother do NOT stop for pictures. If you're quick, you might get a photo with one of the mice, but that's not a given.

I thought the food was fine. Take what you hear here on the boards here about the food with a grain of salt. Maybe it was just an off night.... maybe they have different tastes from you.....

If any of you go on 10/1, be sure to say hi! We're headed for the carriage right at 7 for pictures in costume!

I just cancelled my ADR for 9/29 at 5:25 at CRT.

We did CRT dinner last year and would not repeat the experience. The food was just ok, DH did not enjoy his prime rib at all, it was very fatty. My lavender chicken was ok but not great. The service again was just ok and the characters (Fairy Godmother and mice) did not come to our table, we were just 2 adults. The "show" was pretty poor too. Glad we did it once to see the castle but would be in no hurry to go back.

Been here many of times. Love eating in the Castle. Good food. It's just awesome eating in the Castle.

We did the breakfast when my girls were younger. We very much enjoyed it. My girls wore their princess dresses, got autographs, and plenty of time with the princesses :cool1:so much time that an hour later they were starving:laughing:. They spent so much time with each princess as they came by and I always had the camera out so basically we didn't eat. My husband enjoyed his meal though. :rotfl:

So many people ask about the food, but really although the food was wonderful we just couldn't enjoy it because we were enjoying the interaction with the princesses. I felt tears come to my eyes each time my daughters looked up to see a princess. It really isn't about the food at the breakfast, it's all about the princesses.

Last December went to the dinner. My girls were older and they wanted the dinner instead of the breakfast. They really enjoyed the springroll appetizer from the adult menu, chicken fingers from the kids menu and the buckle dessert from the adult menu. Our waitress was wonderful and explained they could mix and match child/adult items. They were 11 and 13. Both were offered wands, but my younger asked for the sword instead and thoroughly enjoyed sword fighting my 11 year old nephew the rest of the evening.

The food at the wave is probably better and a little more cooked to perfection. DH really liked the pasta and my MIL said the lavender chicken was good. I had the pork and thought it was okay, I think it should have been cooked a little longer as it seemed a little chewy. I asked the waitress for a steak knife as I couldn't cut it with the butter knife. She was very apologetic and offered to bring me something else more than once, but being on the dining plan I wasn't even hungry at some meals so I really didn't want anything else.

We are going during free dining this fall and I gave my girls the choice of breakfast, lunch, or dinner at CRT or try a different place. It was no contest, they wanted CRT dinner.

If your kids are younger I think seeing the princesses is nice, but if they are a little older they may enjoy the dinner the more.

Great advice! My DD is going to be 6 on our next trip this Sept. I cancelled because going to the castle and NOT seeing the princesses just wouldn't make sense to her. ;) When she's bigger we'll give the dinner a try!! Thanks for the advice, we are booked at The Wave instead. :thumbsup2

It wasn't because you were 2 adults. It's not like a traditional character meal where they stop for pictures and autographs. They just sort of "flit" around.....

We were there in early May for dinner. This was my prime rib. Yes, it was a bit fatty but it was MR just as I asked. The corn and crab chowder was delicious with a bit of a peppery aftertaste to make it interesting. DP tried the BLT salad. When it was presented it was a wedge of iceberg lettuce with the rest of the ingredients surrounding it. Odd presentation but tasted good.

For dessert we chose the chocolate cream cheese buckle. We were unable to finish it. For two chocolate lovers it was just too much dessert. The bottom was slightly overcooked and dry but the center was delicious.

I also have pictures of the childrens Mahi-Mahi combo and Grilled chicken combo and dessert if you would like to see them.

As for the show it is less than 5 minutes. The mice stop at each table for a hug and a quick picture. The fairy godmother comes out and sings a song about celebrations and flits around the room trying to engage all at once. Then she talks about wishes and when everyone wishes hard enough little lights go off around the room to signify all the wishes. Short cute and for us came right at the end of our meal so when her show was done we left.

Hope this helps some. :)

The prime rib looks SCARY! :scared1: Did you have to chase it around the plate? :lmao: Just kidding. You're obviously a rare person and I'm one that wants them nice and cooked ALL the way through!!

The dessert looks FABULOUS!!!!! LOVE anything chocolate and that looks scrumptious!!

Yeah. I am the one that when we cook a family steak they take it off early and cut the center out for me and then we put it back on the grill for everyone else. :)
