You would know him best but as a guy, I would say Nay. I took my young daughters there once and IMO, that is exactly who it is geared for....children under 12 and really girls under 12 but there were a lot of little boys there too.
That's a nice thought though. If you want something fun and frivolous to do, maybe take him to Hoop Dee Doo Revue or something like that. I think he would probably get more out of that. Have fun, whatever you end up doing.
I would say no too, even as a female. As much as I love Disney and am excited each and every trip I have NO desire to dine in the Castle. It just seems SO overrun with princesses. I think it's great for little girls, but not so great for grown men or a romantic date.
I would suggest Narcoossee's or California Grill if you want something near the Magic Kingdom with a Castle view.
I thought you had posted that originally you were planning on ESPN for more of a 'guys' theme for his birthday the first night? I may have you confused with someone else. Regardless - if you want to do something fun for him I think ESPN and then a romantic stroll around the World Showcase and maybe getting dessert in France or Norway would be perfect.
My boyfriend and I were there for his birthday. I surprised him with dinner at California Grill. We both loved it. Great food, great views and an adult atmosphere. Plus we brought jeans to change into after so we could jump on the monorail and be at MK for EMH!
I agree completely with the other posters. I brought my boys there during Thanksgiving and it was ONLY because we were on the DxDDP and had the extra meal credits. I would NOT pay $113 for scrambled eggs!
I think the Hoop Dee Doo was a wonderful suggestion! My boys LOVED it!
The CG is romantic, so is Narcoossee's. For a fun crazy meal why not Chef Mickey's. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than CRT and has better food (not much, but decent).
I think ESPN Zone is a great suggestion. How about Rose & Crown or Biergarten. Does he drink beer? He'd enjoy those places.
I just think CRT has horrible food and is overpriced.
Oh, DH's new favorite is Crystal Palace. Our boys LOVE Pooh and Pals and we've been there so many times recently that we actually like the buffet selections for all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). I don't think I'd dine here as often if it weren't for our boys thought.
