CRT Dinner - Why no love?

I think a large part of it is that people generally expect a little more for the $50-$60 (or two dining credits) that dinner costs. Also, many of those reviews probably pre-date the recent addition of Princesses for the final meal, and I don't think the Fairy Godmother "celebrations" show ever got that much traction with anyone.

I've pretty much written off CRT at the current prices. But, we've been there a couple times already, my kids are getting old enough that the characters aren't what they once were, so it's not that hard for me to say "don't bother". The place is still full, so apparently enough people are still willing to roll with it.

This is exactly why we won't go to CRT.

When I am spending $50-$60 per person to have a meal I expect an amazing meal. Not something that I can get almost anywhere. For us we'd rather go to V&A every other trip than go to CRT every trip and our cost ends up being about the same.

The reason that you pay the premium price is to dine in the castle. I get that. But for us, it's not worth the money spent to dine in the castle.

Just think of it this way, you won't be fighting us for a reservation in the castle. It's a good thing. :goodvibes

Go, and ENJOY! I think a lot of people look at the price tag and think for $50 a person the food should sensational-gourmet-delights. Forgetting that the $50 is about $20 location, $5 photo package and $25 food/service. If you look at it that way, you'll enjoy the whole experience a lot more.:thumbsup2

Exactly! If you're looking for a place where you can get the best food for your money, then dinner in the castle is not the best value. However, when you factor in the above, then it's great! :thumbsup2

We were a party of 5 adults (DH, DS22, DS19, DS19'sGF, and I) last month at dinner, and ALL of us enjoyed the entire experience very much. Prime rib was good, as was everything else. Service was very good.

We'd had dinner in the castle in the past when it was not a character meal and we loved it. When they made all 3 meals into character meals we stopped going. But on this past trip, DS's DGF had never dined in the castle before, so DS asked if we could, so we did! And really, I'm glad that we did. It was a lot of fun. Expensive? Yes! But, in our opinion, worth it.

We went to CRT for dinner last November - before princesses. I had read alot of negative reviews about the food. But i wanted to experience the castle and i have to say, I loved it. The castle was magical. The food was delicious. Our server was extremely attentive, helpful, and entertaining (one of the tallest men i have ever met). I completely adored him. The show the Fairy Godmother and mice put on was funny and delightful, and the picture with Cinderella was very special because it was my daughters favorite princess. It is expensive but you are paying for more than just the food. We were lucky enough to get a window seat and get to peek at the magic kingdom. My daughter has commented that she enjoyed it more than Askerus because of the castle, cinderella and the food.

YAY!! We can't wait to go!! Are you going to MNSSHP also ? We're doing our CRT dinner before MNSSHP ( very early dinner) Can't WAIT !!!
