CRT breakfast or lunch versus Princess Breakfast in Norway?

I know this has been mulled over many times, but I'd like some recent input. We've done lunch at CRT and are possibly traveling with a family that has not been to WDW before in January. What are your views? If it was just us, then I'd do the Princess breakfast in Norway, but since we are going with some newbies, what do you think?

The line up is 4 adults, 1 boy age 8, 1 girl age 10, 1 girl age 5, 2 boys age 5.

I'd go for CRT. Nothing's better than eating in the castle! Makes one feel like a little princess: . And afterward go ride Pirates of the Caribbean for the boys in your group. :)

I would say CRT also. The castle is such a special experience if you have not been there before (and even if you have for some of us). My last trip we did lunch and this coming up trip we are doing breakfast. I like them both but lean towards lunch because the Major Domo's Favorite Pie is the best. I do love the Princess Storybook breakfast. Food is great at breakfast.

And the boys get swords so there is something in it for them too!

We had breakfast at CRT for the first time this past fall. For the next trip, I made ADRs for the breakfast in Norway. I asked my husband what to do a million times for this next trip, CRT or Norway. He kept saying Norway. Just the other day my daughter said I can't wait to eat in the Castle again and I said, no we are eating somewhere else with the princesses. My husband looked at me all disappointed and said "really?".

Now I feel really bad about it and I thought about changing our plans. I decided to stick with Norway since it is new for us. If the family doesn't like it, we will go back to CRT another year.

if it makes you feel better, the norway princess breakfast was my DH's second favorite meal (his #1 breakfast choice) in all of WDW. we ate there last oct and when we returned last dec he was disappointed i hadn't made another ressie for then!!

we've eaten at both places, CRT for lunch not breakfast though. next trip we have a dinner ADR at norway and breakfast at CRT. we love them both!

I'm headed to Disney with a princess-crazed 6-year-old daughter in November, 2008. Is it too late at this point to get an ADR at CRT? If not, which meal would you recommend... breakfast, lunch or dinner?

I'm also interested in hearing more about the Norway princess meal... anyone care to share their experiences if they've been there? How was the food? What's the setting like? How's the princess interaction?

It's 3AM :surfweb: I should be in bed.

It does make me feel better, thank you! I was really looking forward to it until everyone gave me those sad faces. Oh the guilt...

We are going November 16-23 and I just got a ADR at CRT (lunch)for November 18!!!! Call soon though!!
We are doing Princess Storybook too!

Unless you have two mornings planned at Epcot I'd go with CRT if for no other reason than Akershus breakfast interferes with park touring. The earliest is 8:30 which doesn't let you out in time for rope drop, and the latest is something like 10:20 which doesn't really give you enough time to get much of FW out of the way before stopping to eat. If you go with CRT breakfast then I'd try for either the earliest, 8:00 seating, or the latest, 11:15. The earliest Akershus lunch, I think 11:20, is a much better time, but the food is different and not everyone likes it. We thought it was good, but we're doing CRT breakfast again next trip instead. I think the castle atmosphere feels more special. Character interaction was about the same at both places for us, a little rushed, but DD still enjoyed meeting the princesses.

You probably won't optimal times especially for breakfast. We changed last year probably a little later than you and we had a couple of choices for lunch. (We laways do lunch. It fits better with the way our family eats.)

Breakfast and lunch have Cinderella downstairs and usually four characters upstairs. Cinderella is downstairs at dinner but only the Fairy Godmother and the mice are at dinner. They do a little show (or so I understand) and don't really go from table to table.

A couple of non dining notes coming from someone with a princess crazed daughter, Toontown usually has several princesses for meet and greets. Get there early (it opens usually around 10:00) to avoid long lines. Ariel's grotto is a really good experience for Ariel fans. The interaction is great which usually drives long lines.

Wow, thanks for the advice mommy4, jcemom and Hootch. I just made ADR for lunch at CRT on the 19th of November. My little one will be thrilled!

Do you think if I do Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (the one at MK) at 10:30 AM we will be done in time to make lunch at 12:10PM?

I've never eaten at CRT but I hear the food is better! :thumbsup2

BBB in MK yet, but will next trip. It was announced just after our last trip. From what I have read that should be sufficient time.

If you have time afterward, or after lunch, have your daughter ride the carousel. The horse with a bow is supposed to be Cinderella's. Also, as you walk out of the castle into Fanstasyland, there is a fountain with Cinderella in he working clothes. A child bending down for a drink should be able to look up and see the crown on the wall behind the fountain appear at the top of the Cinderella's head. There are a few other things that your daughter might like in and around the castle.

I would opt for the CRT the eating is the castle is a classic WDW experience and I think that the breakfast in Norway is just so so.
