Am I correct in thinking that I will be required to pay the full amount of this meal (dinner) BEFORE going, but when I return I will receive a credit back?

I am going to make ADR's this week and want to be prepared if I have to pay upfront (instead of just a courtesy hold).

Thanks!

not positive but they told me....

I booked a room only and want to add the dining plan later. I had to pay in full for CRT but they said that when I added the dining plan I could call and get a refund. It seems like too much trouble so I am just going to pay OOP

When you make your ADR, they don't actually charge your credit card. It's only a hold incase you don't show up. If you don't cancel and don't show up, they'll charge your card then. 2 table services will be removed per person in your group when you are actually there at the end of your meal.

I've booked CRT numerous times. The credit card is just a hold in case you don't show for your ressie.

Does Aloha work the same way? Disney charged my credit card when I made the ADR. I just added the DDP and the woman at CSR didn't know how I got a refund.

If you do not have the DDP your card is charged. If you have the DDP it is used to hold the reservation and only charged if you do not show.

We had the DDP and I gave my card as a hold. I wanted to pay OOP and just told my server when we were through I wanted to pay and it was not a problem.

That's interesting that some people say it's a hold because I had to drop my reservation at CRT from 6 to 4 and I got a refund on my Credit Card. My statement came this week and it's on there. The ADR isn't until 1/07. So I'm definitely thinking that I pre-paid. Different for some people???

I think with the changes this past Feb they went from holding to charging immediately if you are not on the dining plan. If you are on the dining plan they just use the credit card as a no show hold. If you know before you reserve that you are have the dining plan then you will not be charged, that is what I did. It is the people who decide to add the dining plan after they make their ADR's that have to get a credit back.
